I finished season 1 a few weeks ago and only started this recently. Only on ep 8 right now.
I remember getting emotional with the characters last season bc of how the drama was able to connect us to them thru their back stories and growth. It also had plenty of fun moments. And I loved the focus on So Mun throughout the drama as a new counter. In this season, I feel like there's not much focus on him as a character which makes me sad because I adored him so much in season one for his character. Like he's barely with his grandparents and friends this season. It's only about the counter work I feel like. I feel like there's not much character development so far.
Tbh, for one, the romantic subplot of Hana was a bit too sudden and quite useless lol. Also, I did wish they utilized Jeokbong, the new counter, more. So Mun being the main character and new counter last season was just so epic. He really was the perfect choice. Jeokbong is quite useful for being able to sniff out the evil spirits, but the fact that he can't really fight well much... After all, as a counter, you need to learn how to fight esp going up against those evil ones. They honestly did him dirty. Oh, even the other counters seem to be weaker... like they're so much weaker than So Mun, which I don't really like. Feel like they only made So Mun grow in his powers immensely. Like why are the others' skill levels a huge difference to him? Also, I HATE the villains here so far. Gelly and Pilgwang. They are so one-dimensional. So far there's nothing about them that makes me like them at all because all they seem to care about is fighting people and wanting power. Like they don't even have a backstory to make me feel for them. I only find the main one, Ma Juseok, really interesting, tho he frustrates me. I can't wait when he finally knows the truth ughhh can't believe he's been siding with the ones who actually killed his wife like dang... When the truth hits, it's gonna hit HARD!!
Some things I really like in this drama tho is the found family dynamic of the counters. They still have the close relationship with one another and I find them so precious. I also loved getting to know Chu Maeok's first time as a counter and discovering her skills. She still remembered the first person she saved, and upon hearing about what he's been doing, it def was hard. I enjoy the scenes with them and feel for both characters. It made me emotional when he finally remembered what she did for her and wanted to have a change of heart due to the love and care she brings to him.
Despite my complaints, I am still enjoying this season. Won't lie tho that the first one did better in all these aspects (of criticism) I feel like. Tho I may have my criticisms, I may end it with an 8 depending how the rest goes!
Wow I've already watched 4 eps and I just found out that the new counter is the actor who plays Park Danggu in Alchemy of Souls only after checking the actor's watchlist... Crazy! I didn't even recognize him!
Dang I won't start this yet but skimming thru the first ep and I really don't like the dubbing for eitner leads. Like I've watched CDL use her real voice in FoF and (most recently) VoS, and Zhou Yiran in WIFTY and (most recently) GtG...
am i the only one who didn’t get bored with the story like at all? i’ve seen quite a few people mention they…
Ikr? I see many ppl find it draggy but idk man... I never felt that way as I watched either, no matter how long some cases took to be solved. I thought it was just interesting to see how they piece tgt everything we discover along with them yk? And not to mention the cases were smth I was invested in, so yeah.
not a romance drama i know but while everyone is talking about linglong and zz i’m just out here admiring my…
You're not alone. In fact, I think they have even more chemistry! It's bc of the kinds of scenes they have... idk how to explain it. They really have a lot of depth in their relationship. From fun moments to really deep moments (like those intense moments and the conversations they have). It really makes me love and adore their bromance!
I'm only on the second episode and I've just realized that the ML is the second guy we come across. I'm loving…
I honestly love this version of Ji Ling but I agree I wasn't really into him and Wuyi being a cp bc this kind of love feels more like puppy love, and that kind of love I'm not that into. And like the others said, he doesn't stay this way throughout the drama. You will understand why. Also, do you rmr what they showed at the end of ep 1?
None at all and I prefer it that way. If I were to pair ML with someone it would be the SFL not the FL. But yeah the drama is good and prob even better without the romance imo.
So lucky to watch up close😍. He is one of those type that looks better with age😍.
In what way? Their beauty? Well they are normal ppl anyways and esp since they always wear makeup (and ppl like to edit their photos of them) bc they're celebrities there will be some differences btw that and their natural selves. Had a feeling Yang Yang would still be as handsome tho hehe. Could you name some other actors that aren't disappointing in person? 🫣
I seriously love Bai Yutang like y'all Alen Fang here reminds me so much of Yu shisan and I am living for it 😂 Like I missed that dude so much that it was like being able to see him again here 😭
Actually kinda getting reminded of MLC like 1) ML seems a bit weaker when getting into a fight due to the poison in his body 2) SML really wants to have a match with him one day
Unlike MLC I hope we get to see the match btw them lol
Finally seeing the two MLs tgt and omg I frickin love their bond alr and they only just met! So excited to see their brotherhood relationship grow throughout the drama!!
I know this is an older drama but can someone give me a reason not to drop it?The first episode just gave me so…
The FL? She regrets all her past doings and gets a new chance in life and tries to change the course of her previous life and slowly learns from it. That's what the drama is about, which makes it interesting. If there was a prequel (which would be that past life of hers) I know I'd hate her character so much too. Do love her gradual character development throughout the drama.
