Very few people today care about shows based on actual history. What most people today want are romantic sparks and political intrigue.Since this show has none of those two, it is being ignored. If they turned this into a Titanic-like show, everyone will talk about it. ROFL.

Which one? General Kang Jo? He's celebrated as a hero to this day. ;)
Ahh! Got it. I thought you were referring to Gang Jo.

Yep, no to corruption.

True that. In the mobile MDL, we can only access the comments. It's not possible to open the MDL forums unless we use a browser.

In any case, don't delete the notification you received for this reply. It should, in a way, act as a bookmark.

Haha, thank you for the compliment. I wish I have that level of plot writing. Hahaha.

The pocket watch is still very mysterious. It's what I can come up with so far.

Oh! I forgot! The painting grandpa is hiding!

That one I have no idea.

My suspicions currently:
1. He's a time traveller as well.
2. He was the one who gave the watch to FL's father. So it means, grandpa will travel back to the past. Maybe he was from the past. Though this raises a lot more questions about the watch.
3. He can remember his past lives?
4. He was the reason for the curse? Maybe in the first life of ML, he hated the FL and cursed them?

read the webtoon, you’ll know it
Maybe after. I want to enjoy the adaptation first. Sometimes there are changes and it's enjoyable if you don't know the source material.

Though in this case, since time travel is involved, it's ease to explain the changes, if any.

I love the concept of the writer, that is, if I'm getting this right.
* The leads have been reincarnation repeatedly and they can't break their tie. (The multiple red moon.)
* They are not meant to be together. Or, someone cursed them to not be together.
* Someone is poisoning the ML to make sure he dies. (Which ironically sounds similar with another on-going show.)
* The mysterious woman, and fate, sent her to the future to skip her reincarnation.

That last part is important. The problem is, everytime they reincarnate, they don't remember a thing. By throwing her forward in time, she will have a memory of her past and see things differently in the time period where her "husband" was reincarnated.

The mysterious woman, and fate, is betting everything on FL to solve their "curse" and close/end their tie to whatever past started it all in the first place.

Once their connection to that past that started everything, then and only then they can truly be together (if they want to).

* Last but not the least, the mysterious tree and pocket watch.

The mysterious tree is tied to her. It was not during this life of hers, it has been tied to her even in her past lives. The tree only blooms if she's alive. It stops blooming once she dies. The tree stopped blooming between the time she left Joseon, and bloomed again when she arrived in 2023.

Although, in this particular case, the tree survived where it was planted. However, even if it was a different tree, that type of tree only blooms when she's alive/born.

And the pocket watch. I think that is her life. When she lept into 2023, the pocket watch stopped. Her life stopped ticking, she's frozen. It's a poetic way of saying, "you're not supposed to jump through time". However, if she gets possession of the watch again in 2023, it will be the key to: (1) go back to Joseon period; or (2) stay in 2023.

I'm speaking here as an autistic person, my score is 7 out of 10.

Also note:
* I've heard a lot of good things about this.
* This was released 10 years ago.

Those said and considered:
1. The show is not about the autistic person, or autism for that matter. Autism was only used as a literary device to create a drama, like most other shows (be it Asian or Western) where there is an autistic character.

2. There was an excessive emphasis on "dumb", "stupid", and "idiot". Instead of it making people emphatize, it makes an audience hateful.

3. None of them actually showed that they finally understood autism and autistic people. To the very end, it was all about "do this" and "do that" so people will accept you and respect you. Sure, this is a common problem with society, however, should they have ended it that way? People will unconsciously think that's the proper way. It is not acceptance, it is forcing an autistic person to be "neurotypical".

And yet, λ°•μ‹œμ˜¨ (Park Shi On) said in the last episode that it hurts him more when he's trying to remove his difference. But the people around him still acted the same way to end. There's a disconnect there.

4. The female lead is a prime example of a lover who doesn't understand a single thing about autism and autistic persons. She never showed any sign that she's doing her best to understand him, nope, instead she's doing her best to make him a "normal" person.

Yes, that's how it is in the real world. I've been in such a relationship. However, why leave it that way? She want to do things her way to the end. She will eventually get tired and quit. They will have a lot of fights. μ‹œμ˜¨ (Shi On) will just keep doing the same thing, keep quiet, say it is okay, say he is not mad, because he is always the one doing the "understanding".

What they did was to only validate that this relationship is doomed to fail instead of showing how a relationship with an autistic person can be if done properly.

5. The entire show, it was λ°•μ‹œμ˜¨ who did the understanding and adjustments. Basically, the show taught us that autistic people should mask, mask, mask, and mask more. That no one will accept you unless you "get over" your autism (or in other words, mask your autism).

Conclusion:
* While it did show the discrimination, stereotype, and prejudices against autistic people.
* While it did capture the traits and quirks of an autistic person well.
* I cannot recommend this show at all because it does more damage than in helping the autistic cause.

If I watched this when it was released in 2013, yes, I would say the same thing and rate it similarly. I'm sorry.

Just watch μ΄μƒν•œ λ³€ν˜Έμ‚¬ 우영우 (Extraordinary Attorney Woo).

What "political messages"? And by whom? Are you aware it was a historical war and the "Defense of Sihang Warehouse"…
Huh? I thought you understood my usage of the "royal 'we'" but I guess not. I can probably assume, because of that, that you did misunderstand what I wrote (the one I can't see).

Anyway, I do apologise if my reply and usage/wording were not clear.

Nah, I don't know a lot of historical dramas. Hehe. I just love history.

My recommendation is Jumong. The time period of Jumong is farther back in Korea's history. The only catch, there is not much historical written records about that era, so they used a lot of literary freedom. But they did get pretty much everything about right, as far as, what historical record (written and oral) that survived.

The production was good too. War and politics of a different level.

I don't see it on my end. That's weird.

Anyway, without a proper context, I won't be able to reply. When I leave replies, it heavily relies on the context. Since I can't see it on my end I won't be able to explain what it was about.

If you quoted it word for word, then it was a "royal 'we'" as it should be. In any case, without context, I won't be able to explain it.
