Q.1: What are the identity of Lee Ki Hong and Yoo Jae Myung characters? Is it like international Ghost team from the future who created Grid technology??
A: We'll never know that, and I don't believe it is important. That scene was intended to reveal that there are groups who are either pro or against the Grid. The message there was there is a much larger scheme at play.

Q.2: I think SaeHa at the end is our SaeHa, not the one from parallel universe. Why did he fake the death?
A:

a. The Sae Ha in the 2022 scene is a different version.
b. To clarify, there is no "branch timeline" and no "parallel universe" in the story.
c. Sae Ha did not fake his death. He can not do that, also, he needs to die.

Q.3: Eo Jin might not be the father?
A: Maybe, maybe not. But as far as the scenes are concerned, Eo Jin and Sae Byeok did get intimate that night. Since they're divorced, and Sae Byeok was reassigned, Eo Jin probably had no idea. It is possible he only learned of the baby that moment when he showed up in Sae Byeok's home.

Thanks Shael. Believe male viewers understand this complexity much better!
Q: What exact purpose did Kim Manok serve?
A: To kill Sae Ha

Q: If Grid wasn't created and millions of earthlings were killed, then how on earth did Ghost come about?
A: The show is based on the real-world theory called "Block Universe". In the "Block Universe Theory of Time", all possibilities of the "past, present, and future" exists simultaneously. There is only "the now".

As explained by the Ghost, "time does not flow" and in episode 10, Sae Byeok also said the exact same thing, "time does not flow", it doesn't work the way we understood it as "flowing", with "past, present, and future".

There is only one time line, and every possibility already exists simultaneously. What we watched were only a small few of those possibilities.

Einstein's theory of Relativity also comes into play. Time is relative to the observer (in this case, the person or time traveler). We followed only one possibility of Sae Ha's story. There are other Sae Ha who are time traveling.

Q: If Grid was created by the Ghost of the Future assisted by Saeha of the Future, then, why was it necessary to prevent the murderer from getting caught again and again?
A: The Ghost needs Man Ok so he can kill Sae Ha. Sae Ha also needs to die for the future of the Ghost to exist.

This was explained by the Ghost in the 1997 scene where she said, "We've repeated this dozens of times to find another way." Sae Ha, after understanding everything, asked, "how long do I have?" He understood that he has to die too, and he figured out that Man Ok is the one who's going to kill him.

Q: If Ghost kept Murderer free from being captured to result in Saeha getting hit by him, then my question again, what exactly is required from Manok?
A: To kill Sae Ha. If Sae Ha doesn't die, the future the Ghost came from would not exist.

Q: What does AB want to do with the ghost except for the grid?
A: The AB wants to steal the time travel technology so they can finish the version they are creating. That's all they need from the Ghost.

Q: Who is that older guy at the end along with the male ghost (Lee Ki Hong)?
A: I'm a little confused here. The Male Ghost is the one holding the blue device who tried to save Sae Ha from dying. He also spoke in English, "it's not me, can't you see it?"

The scene with the older guy was with an assistant who said that the Grid was erased "from all the times and layers".

If you are talking about that guy the assistant was talking to, he's no doubt a leader of a group/faction with its own interest in either removing the Grid or creating it. It is not clear if they were for or against the Grid (but that doesn't matter).

1. How did Saeha come back alive?2. Sae Byoek's daughter is the ghost's mom? 3. The ghost kept Kim Ma Nok alive…
Q: How did Saeha come back alive?
A: He did not. Every time a person time travels, it creates another version or copy.

Also, the Ghost explained in 1997 that "we've repeated this dozens of times to find another way". The Saeha we know/watched is probably not the first Saeha … he is just another version who tried to find another way.

Q: Sae Byoek's daughter is the ghost's mom?
A: Maybe, maybe not.

The Ghost came from 2091. Her daughter, Byeori, could either be her mother or her grandmother, depending on how many generations there were between them.

Since we don't know the age of the Ghost, we can only assume.

Personally, it's more likely Byeori is the Ghost's mother since the Ghost said she and her mom will never be born if things doesn't happen the way it did (people dying).

Q: The ghost kept Kim Ma Nok alive all these times for what?? To kill him finally?
A: Nope. He needs to live so Sae Ha dies. Man Ok is destined to kill Sae Ha no matter what, just like how Sae Ha's father is destined to die for the Grid to exist; and how Man Ok's father (janitor) also needs to die for the Ghost to exist.

Q: The new time traveller and the leader?
A: I'm not sure what the question is … it's a revelation that there is a group meddling in "all times and layers" (i.e. The Block Universe Theory of Time, a real-world theory.)

So after reading the comments i will probably wait for the season2 confirmation to start this…will hate if they…
There won't be a season 2, the ending is perfect. The story ended.

I'm not saying it is not possible, but as far as the story goes, it ended properly. The story is just complicated, explaining complicated stories does not warrant a season 2.

If majority of the audience is confused and majority of the questions presented in the show were not answered…
1. " it's just bad writing" -- audience not understanding a time travel story is never the basis if writing was good or bad.

2. "The production team is obviously not sure if there will be 2nd season. If they were, they would announce it right away." -- Not true. You can not just order another season unless those who can provide the funding orders it. You should never ever announced a "new season" if you were not given a green light. You'll never get another project in the industry if you do that.

3. "So setting up this kind of ending when you are not sure you can deliver 2nd season to explain anything about the plot is just bullshit for me." It was a good ending. They explained it. It just is complicated, that's all.

Expected ep10 is not the end. Season2 continues. Two groups from future back in time. One destroys grid while another…
"Saeha didn’t die. Faked his death to protect him. "

Nope. He did die. ;)

Since he has become a time traveler too, and "time doesn't flow", he now have multiple versions of himself.

UPDATE: 2022-04-26 08:13:14 UTC+8

Was Disney+ Grid challenging? After almost a week, the much-awaited "Grid Explained" is finally up! https://im.youronly.one/snoworld/그리드-grid-explained-2022116/

Fair warning: this is very long. I compiled the Q&A in the previous thread, updated what needs updating, I re-watched all 10 episodes and jotted down notes (and dialogues), and kept on re-analysing the whole series.

I had to rewrite the entire article 4 times because just when I was ready to publish it, EUREKA! There is a better explanation.

Things that changed since my last reply in the comments below:
1. Sae Ha survived. This is 100% solid!

2. Corrected the birth date of the Ghost. She did not come from 2091, she was born in 2091. This have important implications: (a) Byeori is more likely not her mother but her grandmother; and (b) her 13% DNA match with Ma Nok makes even more sense (backed by real science) … he is the Ghost's great grand uncle on her paternal side. Yes, you read that right.

3. There are two Blue Time Travelers (although 1 actor)

4. The question "if there is no Grid then the Founder/Ghost would not exist so there is no one to install the Grid" dilemma is also answered. There are 7 versions of May 18, 1997.

5. The Ghost did appear at the same time in 6 laboratories around the world, she visited one after another. However, it does not mean it is not possible … when she showed up in IRR (7th laboratory she visited), she overlapped her appearance in 3 other laboratories.

And many, many more!

I hope it's all worth it. ^_^

Enjoy reading!

WOW! I love episode 10. Leave all your questions here, I will answer them!

Don't worry the show is both complex and complicated. (You usually see this type of stories in novels, personally, this is the first time I saw this level of complexity in a live-action show.)

Update: I am also preparing an "explained" article to explain the temporal rules and other complex questions/answers. I just need to gather my thoughts first (I recently marathon "Crazy Love" from ep 1 to 14, my thoughts are everywhere currently.)

Just leave your questions on this thread and I'll answer them as short as possible. I'll just leave a note to wait for my "explained" article if the explanation requires more detail.

What bugs me that how did Segi arrive at the accident scene of NGJ ?I mean as far as we know he didn't know about…
It was because someone is pulling the strings. Someone with all the knowledge of everyone can nudge them to do things you want them to do.

All of them (except the FL) showing up on that night was not coincidence, they were nudged, guided, manipulated, to be there. What is a coincidence is how they showed up one after another. How only one person (the other secretary) saw the FL arriving.

The second ML, the bodyguard/gambling-loanshark, probably witnessed the hit-and-run but had no idea the FL was there, or there was another former secretary who destroyed the CCTVs.

It was actually brilliant. Use everyone, manipulate them, turn them against your target. You have a countdown, if they all fail to kill your target, then on Day 0, you'll do what no one else can.

What I like with this show is they're not dragging the stories. It's simple and relatable. A story about falling in love doesn't have to take half the episodes of the series because in between that is, realistically speaking, usually flirting and kilig moments. It is what comes after a couple starts dating that deserves a detailed storytelling--the ups and downs, the lovers quarrels, and family issues.

Next episode looks so exciting, looks like there is progress in all three relationships! One thing Im concerned…
I'm suspecting we're going to see them build a family of their own. Have those kids running around before their adopted grandfather passes away.

Also, their grandfather is still looking for his biological child. They'll probably reveal that much later too.

Thank you very much for Episode 6. Our grandfather never received the respect and honour he deserves as a WW2 veteran, he and many other veterans like him, were denied the benefits, financial support, respect, and honour when they continued on with their lives.

Institutions, politicians, and governments, only paid lip service and delayed the bills that could have given them proper support. Yes, the bills eventually became laws but only after most of the veterans already passed away. They wouldn't even give posthumous awards, promotions, and/or recognition.

Thank you very much for Episode 6. It may be dedicated for the Korean War veterans, but it resonates very powerfully with all war veterans in all countries, if not for them, majority of us wouldn't be enjoying the life we have today.
