Taiwanese original drama "In Time With You" about best friends who become lovers is one of the best dramas I have ever watched - it's on my top 5 list. In fact, I really love this "from friendship to love" concept ( Reply 1997 is also on my list).
So, my expectations for this Korean remake were probably very high.
But, after watching, dunno what to say except - I am disappointed. Disappointed with incoherent and sloppy story and with not so likable lead characters. Ha Na was like some selfish brat and poor Won was really pathetic, most of the time.
Story became quite boring and drama dragged on and on... I hardly finished it. Only the last fifteen minutes was good.
Must say, Ha Ji Won's overacting didn't help either. It was annoying and ridiculous. And contagious - at one time Lee Jin Wook started to overact himself. Actually, I really like Ha Ji Won, as an actress, but definitely not in this role. I hope she will stop with all that aegyo because it's ruining her acting performances.
Finally, the truth is that consistency, unexpected depth and intense emotions of parent story are just matchless. So, watch the real thing!
This story kinda reminds me of my favorite drama Que Sera, Sera (btw, the older unni was a part of the leading cast in QSS).
Of course, QSS was way better and much more intense with its wild love, jealousy, all the bitterness etc.
On the other hand, HS story is a little shallow, but it has its own charm - the adorable second couple and their strong chemistry( they totally overshadowed the main one), the interesting bromance and the cutest chaebol's mom-son relationship ever...
The first season of this drama was like some revelation for me, the new, refreshing drama genre - it was love at first sight (or better - at first bite).
This sequel is good, but without much surprises...
In Time With You is incomparable - the real thing!
