if i'm not mistaken, the hair is up once the marriage is "consumed" that is they spend to first night together which hasn't happened yet here but before that there are a lot of rituals that make the marriage more or less official even before getting to that point, that's why the officer brought up adultery saying she already received the wedding chest (i guess it's some importany bridal gift) so she was technically his wife. i think she can still call off the wedding as long as they didn't have the big ceremony so there is hope she didn't actually marry him

I agree with everything you said. Leaving Ryang Eum's lie that made everything 10 times worse aside, we have to admit Gil-chae and Jang Hyun aren't on the same page and aren't at a point where they can be together. I have no doubt about the sincerity of their feelings but they don't know how to communicate properly. They say words to each other but they never listen or really talk to each other. What they needed was to sit down and discuss everything, like here's my situation and here's yours, what can we realistically do to make it work? But they never explain things calmly, instead they're always emotional and thinking individually. I thought the way this part ended made total sense, I don't necessarily agree with everyone's action and decision but I understand the reasoning behind it and that's a sign of good writing actually.

Just say you don't care about character development if it gets in the otp's way. How are you comparing Gil-chae of the first episodes to the person she became now after all she went through? I bet you wouldn't mind her feeding and caring for her family if Jang Hyun had no reason to leave Joseon again and they could get together easily.

ofc she will be in part 2, she's the main lead and her story hasn't ended yet

thank you! you summed up everything i wanted to say for people who seem to hate ryang eum and are just looking for an excuse to justify it simply because they only see him as a threat to the otp. there's a lot of lying and deceiving and things not said openly in this show from every character whether out of fear, cowardice, malice or sometimes a misguided need to protect the other. if we can understand and excuse some characters, why should we single out the others? it's all in a grey area and before we get any confirmation from ep10 about what ryang eum really did for jang hyun to act that way towards him, i will firmly remain on ryang eum's side

yeah i have to agree lol i just wish we could also see him loved back the way he deserves and wants to be in the show as well. my biggest fear right now is the writers turning him into a mean jealous guy who's only there to serve as a threat or hindrance to the main couple :/

true, it's clearly not to be taken as final or official, at least not at this point. just recently, in the cast of mask girl they didn't even include the main actress because she's a rookie and has no profile yet. i guess we'll have to wait for the official update from mbc for part 2

yeah i know, my comment sounds dramatic but i'm not really taking any of this seriously. comments and theories are just that, they have no bearing on my enjoyment of the show 😊

i'm aware even our leads aren't safe in this type of dramas, i'm just hoping ryang eum wouldn't meet a tragic end so soon, i'd like to see more of him

I hope they update the full cast soon, I need to know Kim Yoon-woo will be there as Ryang Eum because I don't wanna even think about the meaning of his possible absence >.<

I wish I didn't read this comment, I am now officially devastated at the possibility of Ryang Eum not being there in the 2nd part. I hope the cast is simply not updated and he will be there once they add the rest of the actors :(

my bet is on 1. it's ryang eum being locked up there and waiting for jang-hyun to come to him. it breaks my heart thinking about what could have possibly happened leading to that point :(

yeah it makes me sad because i can't see how things could end well for him, my only wish is that the writers don't make his fate too cruel
