It won't be easy to express my mother's feeling about K2H, as she was just as excited, saddened, on edge, exhilarated and fascinated as we were while watching each episode. So what follows will be all mixed up, as it comes to my mind. :)
She is particularly fond of... simple scenes. When Jae Ha lies on Hang A's lap and tells her he's afraid of everything but her, she said "a scene like this one is enough to make a love story into an unforgettable one".
She was completely captured by Hang A. No matter how much she loved Jae Ha, she kept on repeating: "wow, what a woman!" And was also very, very invested in Jae Shin and Si Kyeung's timid attempts at a love story. It goes without saying that his death was a terrible blow for her too. But not even once did she say something like: "I don't like this because SK is dead".

Violet, I just began my... Secret Garden episode reviews comedy. LOL
I know you like to read about my mom and her reactions, so perhaps you'll enjoy the brief commentaries I am going to post weekly.
Tonight we've actually watched ep. 2 and 3, but I've written only the 1st ep. review by now.

Perhaps we are both vicious, but I too was truly satisfied, not only on discovering the ratings in Korea, but the slightly declining popularity of "them" on the net too.
It's not that I don't want writers to be successful in their work, but the effect of this kind of undeserved popularity is that the viewers are fed always sillier and shallower soups, to the detriment of much better writers who struggle to have their work read, let alone made into a drama.
I AM vicious, but here it goes: I don't believe they really have talent. What they can do is write stories about silly girls who live to love. The rest is a sequel of mundane lines and cheesy scenes.
And because for mysterious reason they are always paired with directors who choose famous male actors, you have the fans swooning and going ohhhhh :P

As for Cybord She, I have in mind to write a review, but I am not so sure I'll be able to express my feelings well.
There is one point - a logical hole - which I wanted to discuss with you, though. You are my reference regarding time travels, hehe!
The first time he meets her, it's actually the real girl, not the cyborg, right? The girl got all the cyborg's memory upon buying it and then decided to travel back in time 1 year before the cyborg did. However, when they witness the guy being pushed with his face in the cake and then washed with champagne, it was the girl, not the cyborg who saw it. So, how did the cyborg learn of this "weird" birthday custom - and use it on him one year after? The girl's memory was never transferred to the cyborg, only viceversa.
Am I making any sense? :P

I'm not sure the ending was the problem for me. The sister scenario was somehow in the air since episode 8 or so - at least, I started suspecting it. The fact that he was guilty, was clear even sooner. Once both things were revealed, these two people could only go towards death. He had such a dark soul, there was no true redemption - I mean in the drama plot, not in real life - and she had completely lost hers to him. Actually, I thought there was a sort of terrible beauty in the ending. My problem with the drama therefore is in the fact that I coulnd't connect with any character, I didn't love them, not one. This is why I'm ready to recognize the quality of the drama, the clever script, the great acting... but I didn't like it. Haha

Forgive me for disappearing all of a sudden. I just remembered I haven't eaten yet, lol. Reading about grills made me suddenly hungry, hahaha.

Yes, the age prejudice is one of the hardest to overcome. I never talk about my age because I like people to judge me for the person I am, not because I'm older or younger or because at my age I'm supposed to do certain things and not do others... I truly can't stand labels, yet people seem to be at ease in sticking you one on the forehead.
After becoming a widow, my mom had a liason with a man who was more than 20 years younger than her, LOL.

Unlike you, I've always been attracted to younger men, in real life as well as on screen. Possibly because my pass says I'm an ahjumma but my brain thinks otherwise, LOL.
The oldest man I've ever dated is my husband, who's 1 year older than me! LOL

I have waited for the olympics to start for as long as I remember and now all possible choirs came in between: first my editor with a fairly urgent translation, than one of my pupils who came back from her holiday with the sudden urge to revise Shakespeare (lol), then a friend who's sending me wedding menus to translate, then another who's trying to involve me in some magazine article I couldn't care less about... my house is in a complete mess and we have had about 37 degrees for a month now. LOL
I hope I'll be able to see at least some athlets before this is over.

I will let you know what I think of this drama. Up to now is funny enough, the 4 men are hilarious together. I think I will focus on them and not mind too much the women. ;)

Oh dear, marble man Lee Min Ho and the nth time jump! I promise you, I won't watch it out of sheer protest. Alone the fact that that drama has been rated by I don't know how many people already, without even having watched 1 minute of an episode, makes me mad. And you can't imagine how happy I am to find another who doesn't like him. Plastic or marble: same difference. The result is an actor who's raved about for his looks alone.
I'm enjoying the Summer and go swimming as much as possible. I wait for this season the whole year, I truly don't want to miss it. It's cheerful, eventuful and people are generally friendlier in Summer.
How about you? Holidays on the horizon? :D
I'm sad I can't take part in the Seun Duk's discussion: I am still not loving period dramas, it's beyond me. But what you say about the "bliss of conversing with just a few people" is sooo true! I can only say: enjoy :D

But it's one of those dramas that grow on you. Not the kind I'm rushing to watch raw and then rewatch 10 times, but a mature rom-com with a modern stance on delicate issues.
Also, it's not frustrating. I think it was the perfect time for me to watch such a drama, after coming out of an emotional explosion.
I'm a slow watcher, as I'm sure you've understood. I watch a mx of 2 dramas at the same time and unless it capture me completely, I can easily let weeks pass before I watch the next episode.
I'm completely with you about the gloss thing. When I'm tired of it, I usually transfer to Japan, where they seem a little less glamourous and deal with different issues other than romance. :)

Possibly because I'm not watching any drama at the moment, I am a little critic towards them, more than I would be normally. I am ready to forgive the same traits I rant about if the drama truly capture me, so I'm not as consistent a judge as I would like to be. ;)
Would you believe it I never saw anything with So Ji Sub? I know nothing of him except that he's considered hot. LOL Not my type, though, at least not from the photos.
As for I do, I do, I didn't think I would end up liking that drama the way I did. In the beginning it had a few very clever scenes, but nothing to really capture me.

please forgive my slow replying: indeed, I shouldn't be here reading your comments, I should be reading other things you sent me. Have patience with me, I beg you. I need to have a full day of leisure, which I couldn't get until now.
I haven't been much around for 2 reasons: a lot of unexpected visits and sudden work duties and the fact that I'm not watching any drama at the moment. Not in the mood.

While I usually agree about not liking nor approving of reviews written before the drama has ended, THIS particular instance is not the one people should rant about. A review written 1 episode before the ending is more than justified: if a drama is splendid or if it sucks is definitely not decided by the final episode. One cannot forget 15 or 19 hours of watching in favour or disfavour of 1 hour finale.
Also, remember that when we drop a drama we rate it too, most of the time. We all do it bar a few.
Reviewing a drama after 3 episodes is unfair and superficial, but reviewing it with 1 episode left is perfectly legitimate.
And yes, I'm partial because I dropped this thing at episode 1. Without rating it, although my fingers were itching to.
