kkkkkk.....the only loser is the coward who paid a poor man to do his dirty job.
I am sorry that you have to go through such things. No one deserves to be treated this way. You and I understand why XY chose the way she did, but we also understand she had more choices than that. Maybe YaoJing shippers find their ending happy, I find it incredibly tragic...just two broken souls codependent on each other. TH has said that their lives continue on off her pages, we could only hope they both learn to heal independent of each other, so that when the day comes where one of them should have to part, they are emotionally and psychological healthy enough to live on. Otherwise, it would have been a waste of XL and CX sacrifices.

YaoJing relationship is not rooted in realism because TH doesn't show the ramifications of how emotional abuse does to the mind and soul of a victim....but Jing character is rooted in emotional abusive behaviours, therefore, the relationship dynamic gives me ptsd.

In the novel, TH is very explicit about Jing's cleverness and how he hides it from XY, and how XY explicitly ignores his manipulation as well as how she tend to gloss over things if it doesn't directly put her or her family in immediate danger.
TH has tone down this aspect of Jing in the adaptation...but there have been a few scenes that brings this out. Of course, if you are watching it solely for the YaoJing arc and none of the extra relationship dynamics in LYF, then you wouldn't care to see anything else than this.
I have my own reasons to find Jing's character offensive...but unless you have dealt with people like Jing in real life, you wouldn't know what hit you.
XL is a character that can only exist in fantasy, so it's much easier to associate and disassociate with him from real life.
By "the first time he came to save her", do you mean in chapter 8 when she was still WXL and he went to the shore…
It would still be starcrossed story...XL would eventually die. But I think she would have been able to be more courageous and true to her heart. She would still have make choices: her loyalty, her heart or her fears.
If XY compromised her requirements earlier, accepted XL's fate, and eloped with XL the first time he came to save her, he would have used thier blood oath for XY to swore to stay alive...🤯
Lol, yes. Some people keep saying that Jing orchestrated everything, when the true mastermind behind everything…
People give that fox way to many credit....again...an idea is an idea, it still needs the drive, intelligence and guts of someone capable to execute it. Jing merely asks XL to pursuade XY not to marry FL, buying his oath with something XL was desparately needing. XL planned, orchestrated and implemented to ensure only Jing could be with her. Jing did the bare minimum of work and reaped all the rewards like a lazy supervisor.

We would have a different story. 🤣😂🤧

Have ya never heard of the saying: IF YOU LOVE HER, LET HER GO?!
