No problem, yeh I know what you mean when I first got into cdramas I thought the same thing but international popularity and popularity in china is very different. C-ent popularity definitely kind of weird compared to internationally but you get used to it haha. Glad to help.

There will be both, tu li and cen ye. We hear in ep 1 when ml arrives home at the beginning he says something like tu li I told you to stay out of the kitchen, also all the clothes and perfume fl cleared out of her room in ep 1, it should be tu li's stuff.

However, for both tu li and cen ye it should be just one sided crush, ml and fl will not like them back at all I think. Just hoping they are not too annoying. So far the writing has been good so I'm happy to give the show the benefit of the doubt.

Yeh I agree, I don't think its 10 years, thats way too long without seeing someone for sure, thats also why I didn't like dazzling time skip felt so long, I feel like I saw somewhere in this drama that it started off in 2011 before going to the past, maybe I'm crazy and making that up but 5-6 years feels right. Like university is around 3 years then a couple years to start working should be it.

I think roughly 5-6 years, I think I remember the future being set in 2011, I could be wrong but I feel like I remember seeing that somewhere, right now in ep 10 were in 2005, so probably 5-6 years should be it. I think a maximum of like 10 years, but I think should be around 5-6 years but I could be wrong.

Its also cause swl in cdrama world is actually still considered quite young, like if you see most of the more popular male cdrama actors and those considered a-list are above 30, that's also when they get more serious and less idol roles. So its not even really about his acting skills, its more just hierarchy, when you're aged below 30 you tend to get more idol roles, and then over 30 you start getting offered a wider variety of roles which helps propel those actors to a tier and become more mainstream. I like a lot of his dramas and been a fan for a while, but its just been more recently, even this year, where he's become more mainstream and getting more popular, before if felt like he was more niche. Again, thats just him getting older and getting offered more roles with higher profile and budget and all that stuff, and like he's proved himself type of thing.

You see this often with cdrama actors and actresses. When they're younger they mainly get offered idol roles, which while popular, its mainly popular with younger people and thus they can't be considered a-list. But as they age and prove themselves, they get more roles that are more mainstream. Its kind of the cycle, c-ent is very structural like that, start of supporting idol roles, then get some main leads in smaller idol productions, then main leads in larger idol dramas, then if you continue to prove yourself and have some hit idol dramas, as you age you get offered more main stream roles. Obviously, there are some unique cases where they may kind of like jump the line but this is mostly how it goes. So I feel like swl is definitely on track to become a-list just takes time.

I'm sure no body will be upset, I agree, I think it will be the same here as well. Last scene of the past will be like fl on the bus leaving the city after ml told her to leave and never come back, and then skip straight back to where we left off in ep 1 I think

Yeh I agree, I think separation will be 11, but just can't confirm yet as the preview doesn't I've anything away just yet so have to see for sure tomorrow.

I have to say I really enjoy how they have avoided like normal cliche's so far. Having watched so many cdramas, when I see a scene or potential storyline developing, I normally think of all the cliche stories that can be annoying that happen often. But here like Linda wasn't the toxic 2fl I thought she would be, when fl's mother got in trouble at school I thought for sure we would get scenes of fl being left out or bullied at school but pretty much none of that and we see she has good friends at school. The terrible mother wasn't around for too long, when fl got jealous ml made it clear very quickly he's not dating anyway, quickly clearing up misunderstandings.

I feel like so far the writer knows what the viewers want, and thats more of ml and fl together, and they've focused on providing that which I enjoy, they know what to focus on and what not to. I really hope they maintain this after the time skip. I know some cliche's are inevitable, but I really enjoy the storytelling so far, the drama feels like it knows what it's meant to be. Focusing on ml and fl mainly, with some business stuff in the background.

For sure, totally agree, she respected herself well, took rejection gracefully, didn't go crazy like so many other second leads.

I think what happens is in the drama it's fake, in the novel ml's relationship with that girl was real. In the novel they both dated people but could never forget each other, I agree though, I prefer for neither ml or fl to date someone else during their time apart, and I think they won't. They have already made quite a few changes compared to the novel, and I have liked the changes, so I wouldn't worry too much I think they'll make this change, where neither of them actually date anyone else in their time apart in the drama, it will be fake.

Actually I take back what I said, I think ep 11 is coming back to the future but not confirmed yet, I saw a bunch of comments saying it was, and preview looks like it but not 100 percent sure, I'm going to watch ep 11 tomorrow and I can let you know.

100 percent, I was the same, suspicious of her until the end, I was surprised and relieved when she left with no trouble. She had a crush, treated ml and his friends well, confessed, got rejected and accepted it nicely, I agree wish more second leads were like her.

Its confirmed back to the present/future whatever you want call it in ep 11, so ep 10 is heavy angst

Honestly, now she left in ep 9, gonna say it again, I might be alone but I actually quite liked Linda/the girl boss. Normally I dislike 2ml or 2fl's when they have a crush on one of the main leads as they can be annoying, but honestly she was some fresh air. I know we're kind of coded to react badly to anyway that gets in the way of ml and fl, but she genuinely treated ml well, treated his friends well when she didn't have to, could have been the toxic boss girl type and used her money or power to try force ml to be with her, but she understood ml's rejection and never became one of those characters. She was just some harmless fun. I like how they wrote her, in another world her and ml I think would have made a good couple, but I also did like that ml rejected her, in this world ml and fl are meant to be.

Obviously I'm team ml and fl, but I really just enjoyed a character who has a crush on ml without ever being toxic or anything. She left peacefully in ep 9, never gave ml or fl any trouble, was not toxic and took ml's rejection gracefully. Wish more 2ml and 2fl's could be like her. Hopefully tu li and cen ye follow similar routes in that they aren't too toxic to the main leads.

Oh yeh it's gonna suck I think after the 2 eps we got tomorrow, I'll watch the preview for ep 11 to see what it's looking like. I like want to wait as well like you, but I just know I'll probably not be able to wait

Yeh for sure the tone was not intimate at all. Maybe even like gangster boss was trying to set ml up with someone so he had to use tu li as a cover, just a guess but for sure he felt like he was forced to let her stay not that he wanted it. Hope you enjoy today's eps when you get to them.
