yes we can agree on that the plot doesn't deserve a 9, but go find me another BL that's flawless, has consensual scenes, and has actors who aren't super awkward when they act -- even the minor roles like the kids, and the sides like plub, est, William were all so natural that they felt main character ---- I get that it perhaps didn't awe you the whole time, but it's undeniable that it managed to deliver on every single episode and that IMO deserves a 9!!! not everything good has to be deep
they deserve a 11/10 just for the amount of fantastic creativity involved in the making of every single scene and every single shot! the comedic sound effects, the style, the set, the cast, omg and the thee tv and the ending credits!!!! I could go on!!!! absolute entertainment packed!!! yes we can agree on that the plot doesn't deserve a 9, but go find me another BL that's flawless, has consensual scenes, and has actors who aren't super awkward when they act -- the minor roles like the kids, and the main sides like plub, est, William were all so natural that they felt main character ---- a drama that perhaps didn't awe you the whole time, but still manages to deliver deserves a 9!!! not everything good has to be deep
Have you watched The Best Thing? It has similar vibes although I suppose we can view it as TCM advertising, lol……
Gen Z was prolly the biggest TCm advertising altho it was questionable if they were creating advertising or controversy in some scenes -- I really wanna watch best thing though -- just not in the mood for something amazing right now! will check my boss out tho!!
I watched Meet Yourself & felt in love with a small town in China. The town probably just design for the drama…
haha I actually visited the place from meet yourself and the filming locations! absolutely beautiful! now that's propaganda I can take haha. the realistic kind and the drama brought so much tourism and attention to the ethnic minorities who lived in Dali too- a wonderful impact really!
honestly this was a great drama! but I really do miss the relatable simple ones -- like romance without all those unrealistic career aspirations -- them being rich I get, but so productive. so motivated made me feel hopeless haha! I feel like shows like hidden love, put your head on my shoulder come with more slice of life and less propaganda! I mean I've lived in china and I love that country with my whole heart but sometimes I can easily tell when shows got the extra mile with doing good for the society concept going on. I could also pick on the message with encouraging viewers on living in second tier cities like suzhou and also wuxi over glamorising first tier city life (Shanghai). Felt like the time skip was unnecessary, would've been nice to see more of the loose ends tie up! but yes, great choice of main leads, they carried the plot!
