Good points and great name for that period! I usually resist watching those angsty Republican era dramas because I prefer fantasy and I don't like EDP costumes as much. So glad I watched this one. I really like the actors and I enjoyed learning some new historical elements.

I was super annoyed at the end when even MSD and princess had to get killed of before getting married or even seeing each other again. But then I realized what you said. No happy ending can be shown because of their ideals.
