it had me gripped from start to finish and i mean that literally, there wasn’t a single scene where my attention dropped even a little. for a 3 ep drama, it managed to pack so much into such a short runtime without making anything feel rushed or underdeveloped
dai luwa and tang shiyi were SO good together the whole way through. their chemistry was palpable from the literal first moment they met. THE TENSION, THE EYE CONTACT, THE SILENT YEARNING everything was perfect 😭
the cinematography, costumes, color grading, everything stayed consistently gorgeous from beginning to end. the production value was so much better than those recent S+ dramas, nothing felt sloppy or cheap
and that plot twist?? i did NOT see that coming. no spoilers but the reveal about who was actually pulling the strings this whole time completely recontextualizes everything you thought you knew
i desperately hope we get another season or a movie, i’d kill to watch this pair on my screen again 😩absolute 10/10
