Haha, this reminds me of this show I once watched. The female lead gets shot once and just bandages herself up, then a few episodes later, she cuts her hand and the male lead has to wrap it for her and she whimpers and says it hurts...like YOU WERE SHOT?! You stitched yourself up and it didn't hurt but this does?!

You bring up such a good point. A lot of times these days, people simply applaud a show because the female lead can throw a fist but if you really pay attention, you'll see how she doesn't really have agency. This shows how easily writers can get away with lazy writing of female characters with no one being the wiser.

I think She'er has a drinking problem. There are way too many scenes of him waking up with a hangover after a night of heavy drinking.

I'm honestly waiting to watch mimi die so I can get some emotional revenge! And yeah, although at this point I'm used to disappointing final arcs in cdramas, I still get pissed when one comes my way. The show was a 10 in the first 25 episodes for me. After episode 30 it slowly dwindled to an 8.

I get what he means a little bit. For example, if I watch a tragedy where the main character or my favorite character dies, then it would be hard to rewatch that. So based on what he says, if I can rewatch it, then it hadn't really emotionally touched me. But that only holds for sad stuff. Happy things make you happy so it's not like it would hurt to get happy again?!

Yeah, don't overthink it. Just watch what you enjoy.

Can't related either way, tbh. I never have time to rewatch anything and rarely feel the urge to, anyway. Even when I do want to rewatch, I get bored halfway and just watch a few of my favorite scenes before moving on.

As much as I hate mimi guli, I really like Li Shimin, so I'm all in changge/Li Shimin feels right now.

asdfghjkl! No I get it! I would be pretty amused by my own irritation if I wasn't so...well irritated!
I'm just frustrated because I loved the first half of the show but these last 15 episodes are really exhausting me. And I hold mimi guli personally responcible for that!
And about the khatun...I get why you're irritated by her. She's a bad villain. It's a pity the show went with her plotline because I think they could have shortened this arc and changed it a bit and it would have been much better! I've written about it in my review which I'll post later, if you're interested in seeing my theory about her.
The crown prince is pretty irritating too!

My personal pet peeve are characters who create drama for other characters and then make doe-eyes at them like "but I am a pure, sweet, innocent angel *pout pout*" Just makes me want to scream and pull my hair out!

Honestly, the levels of irritation this character has inspired in me, can only compete with Jin Mi and Jin Mi is my MOST DETESTED character in cdrama land ever, so go figure!

Yeah! It's redemption by death! A lot of shows do this. When a character does shady things but then when they die or are dying they suddenly get the hero's death and everyone only says how nice they were or they suddenly reveal they were good all along...I don't like it!
It feels like they are erasing the severity of the initial bad behavior.

I think that's the best of two worlds though. Getting good work but not dealing with stalkers and creeps that come with mega fandoms? Sounds great to me.
