Oh, I saw it on Netflix early this week and already marked it for this weekend :)I love Wendy, and I hope this…
Yeah! the *hint hint* was very well done! I'm actually super impressed by the film. It was very good. If all REDACTED shows could reach the same level of subtext, then life would be perfect.
If you watched the movie, this link will help you understand it morehttps://www.theworldofchinese.com/2021/08/what-does-upcoming-summer-say-about-youth-and-love/
What a disappointing reaction from Chinese viewers. I can't imagine just wanting a story given to me on a silver platter with no complexity. I mean, half the fun is to think when you watch the movie and figure things out for yourself. Staying strictly in one genre or another and generating conventional, repetitive teen romances, is so boring and uninspired. I personally loved how the movie challenges the viewer to at least try a little to grasp an interesting concept.
He was returning/ gifting her the kiss she wanted in the club? Same here.. my heart ached for many months .. can…
Aw, I was so into the story and plot that I didn't even register this was his first kiss until a couple of minutes later and then I suddenly just went, WAIT! OMG! A KISS! A REAL KISS! lol
They would say that because I don't think they could say it was a guy, straight up. and they obviously wouldn't want to lie and say it's a woman. There's a huge hint in the movie. When they see Ming's photo, Chen Chen looks shocked and like she suddenly realized something. Then Zheng Yu Xing says "now you owe me a secret" which refers to their past conversation about sharing a secret with each other. We can deduce from this part that Ming is a guy and his mere identity is a secret that they must keep.
Try Goodbye My Princess, if you like the actress. In my opinion GMP is one of the best Chinese dramas out there.
It's a very nuanced story with a mature ending. I personally think the ending is appropriate for the story. The beauty of goodbye my princess is that it's so good that when you watch the happy parts you forget the sad things. It's definitely not your typical historical romance at all. It needs a new perspective. I think it's worth a watch anyway. Tragedy and all. It's too good to give up on.
Ok, ok so the old driver is the grand advisor!!!!!! Is Mei Xing the monk?🤔hmmm
Yeah...I figured the Mei Xing thing out soon after posting this and I guess I felt it before too but I was just throwing hints at the universe that I don't want him to be THAT guy. This guy is sort of cute but I have serious grudge against his historical counterpart. Confirmed or not, I can't help to try and find everyone though! It just warms my heart to think the people around them are still there.
Yeah, clearly some very very seductive bones are involved here for Shi yi to put up with zhousheng chen's weird family. I would've ran in the other direction, as fast as my legs would carry me.
Thank you so much for saying this. I was contemplating watching the prequel, but i read that it was a sad ending.…
You can watch this without the other but the story is so beautiful and well-told in the prequel that not watching it will be a true loss. Yes the ending is sad but since you already know it from the beginning, you can be prepared for it. Personally, I found the ending sad but not gut-wrenching.
