This is an unfair straw man you've created. You're critical of others for not being understanding and open-minded,…
I think you have misunderstood my intention. My comment was not aimed at those who want to focus on their connection as musicians and their craft. Nor am I lumping everybody together who doesn't want them to be romantically involved and accusing them of being homophobic.

People are allowed to dislike romantic elements. Obviously not everyone likes romance, and that's okay. But my problem is when they do so purely because they are two men, and from the majority of the comments here that is where the disgust stems from. But as you described, this is not where you stand at all, so I have no issue with that and I was not aiming this at you.

I understand where you are coming from and respect it, although I think my perspective is slightly different. I agree that the connection between two musicians can be much deeper than just romantic or sexual attraction. But I don't think romance is necessarily superficial either. If it's written well, their romantic relationship can actually deepen their connection to each other and to their art, because it becomes part of how they understand and influence one another as people and musicians. I think it really depends on how the romance is portrayed — it can be shallow if it's reduced to sexual tension or infatuation, but it can also add another layer to their music and their relationship rather than taking away from the artistic connection.

But the point still stands that I'm not calling anyone who doesn't like romance as a homophobe, maybe I should have made that clearer initially.

Simply: if one of them was a woman and you would still dislike it if they were romantically involved (which is where you seem to be) then I have no problem with you. Its the homophobic people I detest.

(Apologies for the long wall of text)

Romance can only be between a man and a woman.
Romance is a deep emotional connection between two human beings, not reduced to your brainwashed gender stereotypes.

Fuck. You. Brainless asshole.

To think I had almost forgotten how utterly disgusting some kdrama fans are, and then I looked at this comment section. Fucking appalling some of the words I've had to read.

At the end of the day, it doesn't come down to if they are romantic or platonic. People are free to interpret things now they see fit, whether you like it or not. But it comes down to why you people are so adamant, hateful and disgusted by the idea two men being in love. You mask it behind "can men not just be friends anymore?", or "does everything have to be a BL nowadays?". You hide behind allegations of fetishism and of toxic shipping culture, and some are outright in their homophobia.

The bottom line is: if one of them was female, every single one of you would call it romance. Absolutely NOBODY would have an issue. So, why is the idea of two men being in love so disgusting to you people? Why so full of hatred? I genuinely cannot conceive how such people exist in this world.

And some wonder why famous actors may not do BL or queer roles? This comment section provides your answer, clear as day.

people be acting as if episode 2 didnt have the most romantic shit ever likeee, if a guy lit all those candles…
People are so quick to twist the narrative when it benefits them. I saw the idea earlier of if one of them was a girl and I absolutely agree

I'm at a loss for words to explain the feeling I get from this drama. The episode 4 ending feels so ethereal, and the piano playing in the background is perfection

The only disgusting thing here is you. How the fuck is two people falling in love disgusting? Why does it make a difference if they are both men, it's just anatomy. You are so brainwashed by society into only thinking straight relationships are okay. This IS HOMOPHOBIA you asshole.

omfg exactly! this whole episode literally screamed romance through the screen. lighting a whole room full of candles to help ease his fear is the most romantic thing ever. it's like what you would do if you have a crush - and Pi O warming up to him, e.g the scene where Jeong Yo comes up behind him and hugs him in the cafeteria when Pi O sworn he was not a person made for friends further shows that in my opinion. and the "FL" is nowhere to be seen, and at the start neither guy could care less about her.

So guyzzzz I'm new BL fan... What do you recommend to me to watch is it cut or uncut version? What's better?
Uncut gives the full experience. Be careful for watching series on youtube because they are the cut version and you will be missing watching scenes. (they do this so people are inclined to use paid services to watch uncut). Uncut includes scenes that were cut out and additional/longer NC scenes (sex scenes).

Happy to have a new fan! Feel free to ask any other questions you may have :)

I find it hilarious the amount of people who would be sent into ORBIT with rage if they did kiss. I'm glad I can ignore all of these people and watch them fall in love (because that's how I chose to interpret it) in peace, which I will be doing from now on. This series is a beautiful story of finding yourself and becoming emotionally intertwined with another person while music is at the centre, and I'm happy that arguments in comment sections can never change that.

Oh thank you! I knew Sota and Mariko were 32 since it was mentioned last episode, but I just assumed he was a lot older since Taisuke said he heard about Mariko's near kidnapping when he was in university. Thanks for the info

glad I'm not the only one! I think Tong's face is a little wider than Keng's, but their eyes and face structure look so similar to me and they both have the same stern expressions
