I watched all of those. Xu kai always play really similar character, strong and carefree extrovert like you've mentioned. I am not finished Wonderland of Love because I got little bored with his character. Don't get me wrong, Xu Kai is great and play character well. There is nothing wrong with that.

I watching both Sword and Fairy but I am more interested in this one so far.

That's funny but people made mistake sometime. I guess they will edit it out if people keep complaining.

Yeah. But I bored with Xu Kai typecasting there. He practically play same character on his last three dramas. Esther also play typical typecasting bubbly character.

Yuan and Jing Yi play a quite different characters here.

This drama is Zhenni breakthrough role. It is important for her career.

I am curious what Chen Du Ling can bring as FL. So far I am get bored with typical bubbly FL , it seems she will play different kind of character.

Yang Zi truly Queen . Crowned again as Weibo Queen eventhough Lusi, LiuShihi or Zhang Yuzi are extremely popular those day.

Huang RI Ying always typecasted for similar role.

People needs stop delusional and go on with their life.

It is really good. 8.3 rating do not do it justice. Screenwriter that did a timeline is a genius. But sadly official sub English is really bad. I hope they fix it so people can enjoy this masterpiece.

It is back and forth between dark and mystery to comedy and full blown tragedy on different span of timeline. Production also extremely detailed, it shown a rough China during mid 90's and smoother current China. You can't confuse a timeline. Shen Mo is the most pitiful character, anguish and dreadful get more and more intense once thing about her revealing.

Plot twist also just unexpected, the director doing a good job make an audience keep guess who is the victim. Turn out it was brilliant. Everything about this drama just gripping.

Seriously, guys. Just watch this especially if you are into thriller and crime genre. It is one of the best.

Devil God ressurrect YQ out nowhere is kinda forced.

Lusi looks way better when she is in sleeping pajama without all trinkets and crazy detailed costume. Showing all her feature.

Chen Du Ling is beautiful and hardworking actress. Why hate her?

Controversy and personal feeling about certain actors affecting a rating in Douban. Immortal Samsara review bombed because Yang Zi debacles with her previous agency. People already hated the drama before it is airing.

A foreign entertainment less likely get review bombed because they have no attachment such that. Funny enough so many Kdramas got a really high rating like 8-9 there.

So she had waist pain when filming? I think on early episode, there is a scene Ayin wake up from sitting and she is groaning. I thought that is not acting, I was true.

It is still watchable and fun.

- Lusi is beautiful and cute.
- Great acting from all cast
- Plot has nothing new to offer.
- Using too much missunderstanding to leverage a plot.
- Screenwriting is lacking.
- Cinematography is so basic.
- Writing of ML is a little bit of a mess. He have too many drastic personality changes solely just to create angsty.
- Some plotholes like Gu Jin was God of War. Then Lan Feng assassinated and no one ask Gu Jin to come. Like they forget about him.
- First Ayin arc was nice, Heaven arc was messy than it picked up again on Fen Ying arc.
- Overuse ost . They need stop putting ost on everything and just let people talk.
- Costumes are cool. But sometimes it feels too busy and jarring compared background character with simple costume. All Daze mt disciples have really simple costumes while Ayin have all pretty trinket on her hair but she is just junior immortal. Such suspense of disbelief.
- Ao Ge/ Xiu Yan subplot is more interesting than story of main leads.
- CGI is lackluster on so many part. It affect overall enjoyment.
- Color grading is bland.
- There are so many noticeable glitch special effect. Like effect suddenly stopped and rewinding back.


It is 7.9 for me. I can't give higher rating despite Lusi in this. Have really flawed production with lack of ambition and lack of polish. It is okay to create something cliche but if production also fail, there is no saving grace. The only saving grace is Lusi. They just wanted to make money in safest and fastest way possible.

Lusi is 10/10 though.
