Generally I've found that whenever a lakorn has a male lead who's super angry and spiteful at his father, the rest of the show turns out to be a hot mess. This is no exception. While I can't deny the addicting quality the show had on me, I can't say the story and its characters were all that great and at times had me shaking my head.

We have our hero (or should I say anti-hero) Pan, who's angry at his father for having a mistress when his mother was still alive. It doesn't help that after her death, he had his mistress and her son move in with him and work at his dad's company. There is reason for Pan's anger, which gets even more inflamed when the mistress' niece, Pai, comes in to move in with them. Pai herself has been forced to move in after her grandpa's dessert shop is seized due to failure to pay rent.

This is pretty much a family drama with some romance in it. It's centered mainly around Pan and how he deals with his unresolved issues with not only his dad but also his step-family. We do get to see some cute moments between Pan and Pai, as both are hot-headed and bicker with each other a lot. I like how Pai is able to stand up to Pan and see through his anger, and pretty much be the only person who can get through to him. Pan also cares for Pai, and it's sweet to see him grow to love her. Unfortunately the OTP scenes (and Pai's role) get reduced near the last third of the drama in favour of the Pan/Pan's dad issues and conflicts regarding the 2nd leads. It gets even worse in the final episode where they introduce a new conflict between the OTP and it's basically used as filler until the last five minutes where they finally get together. It was pretty dumb tbh.

There were a lot of wtf moments that really made me shake my head and ask why. For example when the villain (which is the 2nd FL's dad) steals Pan's dad's company right under his nose. I thought Pan's dad was stupid for not realizing that he obviously had bad intentions, and he even knew that the villain's company was bankrupt and was in need of money. I felt like that could've been completely avoided and I wonder how Pan's dad could be a competent businessman. Ek's infatuation with Pai was also just weird; they're cousins, so it made no sense that he would love her in that way. Another wtf thing was the 2nd FL; at first I found her to be super annoying bc she was constantly pining for Pan and committed some heinous crimes to make sure no one stood in her way. We later find out that her dad hypnotized her into thinking Pan loved her, and basically used her to save his business. In a way, I did feel bad for her for having such a scum dad but even after she found out she forgives her dad (wayyyyy too easily) and continued being an annoying b*tch. Her end was pretty satisfying, albeit also sad but it made up for the terrible things she did.

I will say that what I enjoyed most about this lakorn was the reconciliation between Pan and his dad. Although his dad may be dumb and hot-headed, he truly has a good heart and raised Pan as his own even though they weren't blood-related (he also treated Pan's mom really well even though he knew she was pregnant with someone else). It was sad to see Pan's mom be a victim until her end, as she was not only r*ped but also misunderstood by Pan's dad. Pan's actor did a really good job crying his heart out and begging for forgiveness when he realized this, and I too cried along with him. 
Overall I did enjoy the show for what it was and above all else it was entertaining. Music was also not bad. I'd recommend you watch if you don't mind the above shenanigans and have the time. Would not re-watch however.

Despite the good ratings I gave for this lakorn, I can't say that it is one of the best ones out there. If this didn't do the thing I love about lakorns so well, then I'd definitely say that it's just your typical lakorn. You have weird, cartoony sound effects. You have music that is not only overplayed to death (to the point where I had to turn off the sound near the end because the constant playing of the music almost drove me insane) but also played in inappropriate situations (romantic music plays after Charles threatens Fah) which makes the scene less serious than it actually was. You have the second female lead Prae who is the worst sister ever to Fah as she not only doesn't care for her well being, slut shames her, manipulates, almost kills her and is just selfish to the core. Then she somehow makes a miraculous realization that Fah cared for her all this time (girl had to take a damn bullet at that point like wth) and gets away with all her crimes. Of course the male lead believes everything that she says over common sense. Second ML Por takes the cake for being a doormat and just waaaay too forgiving to Prae. Villain is one dimensional, and most of the side characters are there for comic relief and don't add much to the overall plot.

So why did I enjoy this so much you may ask? To the point that I've rewatched this more than 5 times and have lost sleep over it? It's because of the sweet, crazy love between Fah and Saichon/Charles. This tackled my biggest weakness when it comes romance dramas and gosh did I revel each minute of it.

What made this love story work for me was how I saw the progression of their relationship, starting from when they were on the island. I got to know the manly Saichon and the innocent Nang Fah. I saw their relationship develop with so many cute moments and how they were just so right for each other. I still liked Saichon a lot even though he was so mean as Charles, because I knew he always loved Fah and most often when he was hurting her, he hurt himself as well. I also have to commend Fah for sticking up for herself when she could and not cower over his actions. Also Charles as the possessive ML was just hot! I almost feel l bad for saying that bc it usually is a turn off but here it was my guilty pleasure! Their chemistry was already sizzling when they were in the island, but it was just off the roof when they came back on the mainland. It was this where I understood why Yaya and Nadech are paired together all the time.

All in all, I would 100% recommend this if you are big on romance and can tolerate a lot of bs haha. Now I just want a season two (though I know it'll never happen! But a girl can dream right?).

I'm kinda disappointed to be writing a review like this because I really wanted to watch a good lakorn with Pong (the main actor) since I had tried to watch a previous lakorn of his that I couldn't finish. It's not like I expected a masterpiece out of this, but I thought at least I would love Pong's character and enjoy this lakorn based on the premise. Not only did I not get that, but Pong's character was one of my least favorite characters out of the whole thing and oh boy was it eye-rolling to get through everything.

This is pretty much your typical slap/kiss lakorn. You have an rich, arrogant, possessive ML who believes the FL is a hoe but still regards her as his property. The FL is a poor, noble, righteous, hard-working lady who just wants to help her family. I'd even add that she's passive too, although there are points in the lakorn where she's not (more on that later). There's a jealous bitchy ex-girlfriend, multiple men who fall for the FL, childhood friend who's been in love with FL for X amount of years, secret love-child, secret pregnancy that everyone but the ML knows about, sibling drama, a lot of miscommunication between the leads and forced marriage. The only cliche that this doesn't have, which was the saving grace, is a bitchy mother-in-law; instead the MIL is quite fleshed out and you understand her motive for the things she does even if you don't agree.  Actually also the servants weren't annoying, and I enjoyed their antics. Maybe it'd be different story if the MIL was the real MIL, but other than that the story doesn't offer much new. Bear in mind, I do enjoy these cliches to some degree (otherwise I wouldn't watch these kinds of lakorns) but here it just didn't work for me. More times than not I was eye rolling at the stuff the characters were doing and how the story presented itself. The story started out ok in the beginning but near the end it became a mess and I ended up fast-fowarding until the final episode. The main couple spent more time angry than lovey dovey with each other, and really only got together in the last 30 min of the last ep. The only good thing about this was the character development for some and how everything came together in the end (last ep was not bad, so I don't feel completely like I wasted my time).

Let's start with the ML. I didn't like him and I didn't understand why he seemed to like the FL before he even knew her (ML instalove magic I guess).  He's very jealous and that hindered him a lot where instead of communicating with the FL, he accuses her of cheating on him and wanting to see other men. Like wth? He knows she's noble but I guess somewhere in his head he still thinks she's a hoe. He believes his ex-gf's lies about her (even tho he knows the FL and her don't like each other) and doesn't do anything to protect the FL from the ex-gf. There's a lot more that bugs me about him, but basically I don't think he's good for the FL and although I believe in his love for her, his constant jealousy and miscommunication doesn't make me believe they'd last long.
The FL was okay here. The actress played her part well, and I liked that she had dignity and class. My only issue with her was that I wish she had more backbone; there was a part in the beginning where she burns the clothes of the crazy ex when the ex intervenes in the house, and it got me hoping she'd do more things like that. Unfortunately she just cried a lot, which is a natural reaction for the stuff the ML did to her, but it was just very passive and I wished she stood up for herself more.  
Didn't like 2nd ML, was too close in FL's space although some of it was her fault for not outright rejecting him.
Didn't like the bro. Waste of space. Cause the FL to force marry to ML because of his gambling. When FL cries over ML later on when she's pregnant, he gets the great idea to kill the ML so she can move on (major eye-roll here).
Crazy ex-gf was terrible and pissed me off more than how these kinds of characters usually annoy me. She should go to hell since she wished for the little girl to die soon. Tried to kill the FL's unborn baby and overall a very hateful and manipulative bitch. Her friend is awful as well. Didn't really like ML's bro in the beginning cuz he was very obsessive with the FL even when she outright says she don't like him. Gets better when he snaps out of it and becomes better.

Due to the terrible plot and crappy characters, I'd pretty much checked out of this lakorn in the last couple of episodes and fast-forwarded to see how it ended. I don't remember the music. I also definitely wouldn't recommend nor rewatch this unless you want to waste your time.

This was one of the first lakorns that I watched and honestly I was hooked the moment I started. It had a kickass female lead who wasn't afraid to fight back, and a male lead who judged her at first, but slowly got to understand and unwittingly fall for her. This reminded me a lot of the kdrama Secret, where it's set up in a similar premise and has that addicting angst of falling for someone you shouldnt. I happen to greatly enjoy storylines like this (because who doesn't want to feel that heart ache haha) so it was no surprise that I marathoned the heck out of this lakorn like no tomorrow.

However I did have my gripes with this lakorn. Mainly it bothered me that the male lead was a lawyer, but did not consider both sides of the situation (like a lawyer should...) and proceeded to harass the female lead based on prejudice. While I understand that it was necessary for the plot, I couldn't help but feel somewhat turned off by it because it felt very illogical, and I couldn't just brush it off as drama logic. Also, the second female lead has got to be one of the most insecure, spoiled, bratty leads I've ever watched! Ughhhh and her husband who is the second male lead is no better; I thought both were better off without each other because they're so toxic together. The loveline with the FL's assistant and engineer was weak (didn't like the guy either) and felt unnecessary to the main plot.

But I didn't mind as much as I would, because of the off the charts romance of the main leads. I can forgive most misgivings as long as the romance delivers and boy this one sure did. I savoured their every interaction and they seemed to burn up my screen with their sizzling tension and chemistry. Their intimate moments and tender gazes made me swoon. It was great watching them both understand then fall for each other as the episodes zipped by. This really made me fall for Mark Prin haha.

Though I really become a fan of Yaya for making the FL a confident, tough as nails woman who wouldn't back down without a fight, but is not completely heartless and just wants someone to genuinely love her. It did bother me a bit that she cried quite a lot and would complain about her lack of love (I mean you have your awesome manager and assistant!) but overall, I loved her character.

Music was good, though I don't remember much of it so I can't say it was my favourite. Would I re-watch? Def for the Yaya-Mark scenes but that would be all. All in all, this was a great intro to the world of lakorns and would recommend but not without some cautions.

I first started watching this drama a few years ago but never got around to finishing it. This drama just randomly popped in my head one day and I was wondering why I didn't finish. I gave it a go and here's what I like/dislike:

Likes
-how the male lead doesn't fall for the female lead at first sight and how wonderfully complex he is; major props to the actor for making him a memorable ML (and also rest his soul)
-the female lead can actually pass for a boy and is good at toeing the line of femininity and masculinity; very likeable
-great 2nd leads with good chemistry
-interesting secondary cast; good villian that made me blood pressure rise every time I saw her on screen and lovely Bussaya family. Also surprising character development for FL's mom and ML's dad
-interesting and engaging storyline that is logical and while it is old-fashioned, it makes more sense than half the dramas I've watched this year
-lovely music that's appropriately played
-well-developed romance and the juicy angst that the ML feels for the FL (who he thinks is male) that can rival that of Coffee Prince
-how the ML accepts the FL, even if he thinks "he's" male, because he loves "him" and can't be without "him"

Dislikes
-the only thing that I disliked about this was how they treated being gay like some kind of disease and huge source of shame. I mean, I get that the LGBT+ scene was not like it is today. But it sucked to see the FL bombarded with gay slurs and how everything was suddenly better when it was revealed the FL was actually female. I just made me think how ironic it was considering how now, Thailand is one of the biggest producers of BL content

Overall
I really really enjoyed watching this. I finished this a couple days ago and I'm still thinking about it and wish there were more episodes. This is one of the best gender bender dramas you'll ever watch. Highly recommend!

TL;DR - A light-hearted, feel good lakorn. It does have its dark moments, but it makes the good moments even better. A very good story and fleshed-out cast with a nice romance between the leads, although the female lead is kind of passive. Recommend to watch if you want something comfortable. 

I'm probably in the minority when I say that I enjoyed watching this; I didn't have much expectations when I started, and was more in it for Toey (male lead) but this managed to surprisingly knock my socks off in more ways than one. This style of lakorn reminded me of those Korean weekend family dramas (that I used to enjoy watching), but not so makjang and not quite as long. I will start off with what I liked.

Firstly, the story was really strong and the pacing was good. Things didn't drag more than it needed to, and at first glance the story looked simple, but it had a lot of twists that I didn't expect. This drama also got surprisingly dark at times, despite how idealistic it was. It was easy for me to follow and immerse myself, and I never felt the urge to fast forward. Key plot points were revealed in a low-key, mature manner with not much drama; something that I greatly appreciated, but did have some faults with (I'll explain later). I liked how they played with the theme of family, and how it was more than just bloodlines. What helped make the story so good was because it had a great cast of characters that made me care for and want to root for them.

I liked the two main leads quite a lot, but I also equally liked the secondary cast just as much. They felt like real people with their own dreams and motivations, and even with the bad characters you could understand why they did what they did. There was complexity in their characters and the relationships they had with each other that made me feel like they were more than tools for plot. In particular, I really liked the character of Narin and his growth (although I think he got away a bit too easily despite what he did) and the development of the love line between Chom and Pat. I think this is the first time I was invested in the secondary love line, as I usually tend to ignore them in favour of the OTP. They had the kind of relationship where she didn't trust him and he was always trying to convince her she could (which I don't like), but what sold it for me was how he realized soon enough that no matter what he did, she wouldn't trust him and he thought it was better for her to meet someone else. Then it got her to realize she was being too hard on him, and she spends most of the drama trying to get him back. This was not something I expected and it impressed me greatly.

MVP of this drama is Rita's dad haha. Although I wasn't a fan of the actor's line delivery, he was the most compassionate, level-headed and reasonable character of them all, and knew when to cut through the crap. Phu's dad gets an honourable mention. I felt like both their wives didn't deserve them, although the wives do have redemption arcs of their own that made them better. 
I also really liked the romance of our leads, Phu and Pang. The start was a little off, but I have to say this was one of the most mature, healthiest relationships I've seen in a while. They communicate properly with each other (for the most part) and when one has issues, they talk to each other about it and go through it as a team. It helped that Phu is one of the nicest, gentleman-like male leads I've seen, and one of his greatest characteristics is that he always does the right thing even if it may hurt himself or others. I thought the way he dealt with the revelation between him and Pang was really admirable and selfless, and was refreshing compared to the male leads I usually watch. 

Now for some cons; as much as I appreciated how low-key this drama was, I also thought it was to a bit of detriment; there were some key moments where I felt the bells and whistles of dramatic effect could elevate it greatly. Instead of making me feel wowed, I just thought "huh okay this is happening" (very anticlimactic). I also thought things got a bit ridiculous near the end; I hated how they dealt with Grandma Thongbai and Phu around this point. It was too much and caught me off guard. I also think that Phu and Pang were too forgiving to the ones who hurt them, and it kinda sucked to see Pang not fight for herself when she should've (taking the moral high ground is a good thing, but not satisfying as a viewer). I also thought Pang was quite passive in her relationship with Phu; Phu was always the one confronting their problems while Pang chose to run away from them. He fought hard for them but she didn't do as much, which I wasn't a fan of. 

I really like one of the theme songs and have it on my playlist. Overall despite my misgivings, I thought this was a solid lakorn with a great cast and well thought out story. Not sure I'd re-watch since I know all the plot points. This is more of a comfortable and convenient type of drama, so if you are a slap/kiss fan then you probably won't like this. But if you like those light-hearted, feel good dramas then I encourage you to give this one a go.

TL;DR - Did this warrant 17 episodes? I thought so until the last ep. The reveal with the revenge doesn't happen until the last couple of episodes, which isn't my favourite. The romance had its moments, but due to the choices of the male lead, I would've been okay if they didn't end up together. Give it a watch and if you can buy into the ML's reason for revenge, I don't think you'd have a bad time.

I started watching this because it pretty much has my favorite type of slap/kiss plot (although I'm sure 90% of this genre has this sort of "macho man misunderstands innocent girl" type story) and I liked the look of the main leads. After finishing, I definitely thought there were some interesting elements, but overall just thought it was okay. I will first start with what I liked first.

One of the things that surprised me about this was how the story managed to be engaging and believable enough that it almost warranted the 17 episodes; when I first saw that it was going to be that long, I was filled with dread at how this was likely going to have a lot of filler. But this wasn't really the case; there are multiple plot lines occurring that make sense, and this lakorn does a good enough job to make you care about the characters that are directly involved. In particular, I really liked the storyline involving the dad and his conflict of how to love and protect both his sons born from different mothers. Whoever produced this show had a good sense of when certain plotlines should come in, and was in line with the current psychological states of the characters. At least to me, things went on in a logical manner that was engaging and not hard for me to go on to the next episode, although I had issues with the last episode that I'll discuss later).

I also really liked how they dealt with the character of May; the twist involving her was brilliant and she's one of the most memorable villains I've seen in awhile. Sa Anisa has really improved since Maturot Lohgan. I really really liked how when her secret was revealed, she was not demonized for being trans but rather more for her terrible actions as her own person. Her struggles as a trans woman were expressed well, and honestly it would've been too hard for the main leads to figure her true identity, so it made sense that it was revealed in the end. I will say that I felt like it would've been more in line if she'd try to kill Jan; she'd already gone too far and we don't really see her feel guilt for tricking Jan till the last episode. I felt like if I changed my whole ass gender for someone, I'd see it all the way through. Regardless, I'm satisfied with her development and I'll remember her for a long time.

Now onto what I didn't like; the first problem was that I didn't like how everything was resolved in the last episode. Problems that had been plaguing the characters for hours in the lakorn were conveniently settled within half an hour or so in the last ep. I really dislike this kind of storytelling because it makes me feel like I wasted my time, and it makes for an unnatural ending. This sort of quick, idealistic wrap-up with sunshine and rainbows felt like a cop-out and it disregarded the earlier conflicts that took long to set up. I also felt like production kind of gave up just because it was the last ep. Another problem I had was that I wasn't expecting the revenge plot to go on for so long, although this is a point that I'm conflicted with myself. On one hand, Jan should've had an idea that Sichon was Nam (there were a lot of coincidences) at least halfway through and move the plot quicker. On the other hand, if she did find out early and things resolved sooner, I would've lost interest in the OTP.  Ultimately, this is something that I've just come to accept, although it doesn't make me satisfied and isn't what I was expecting.

Another dislike is unfortunately the romance; because the revenge went on for so long, it personally made me unable to completely immerse myself in the romance. I thought BigM and Hana had really good chemistry, and the way they touched eo was very intimate and special. However for me, when I saw these intimate scenes, my feelings of romance would be negated by the fact that I knew the revenge would come, and it greatly bothered me that Jan was totally falling for him while he was intent on deceiving her. 

I was also disappointed by Sichon's character; at first I thought he would be like the main lead from Game Rai Game Rak (both even have similar names!). However, Sichon had this big insecurity about being low-born and would just again and again cave-in to it despite what Jan did for him. While I don't deny that he loved Jan, he also couldn't believe in her and it's telling when the aunt and 2ndry FL believed her more than him. The moment he chose to believe Mek's words (in the latter third) was when I kind of gave up on him and thought Jan deserved better. Jan was a queen in every way and frankly I would've been okay if they didn't end up together. 

I will inject some Sichon positivity and say that I was touched at the part with May when told her that gender didn't matter when it came to love. That everyone deserves love. I honestly expected him to hold that against her, but the fact that he didn't warmed my heart.

Music was alright (at the very end they played one of my fave Tilly Bird songs which I totally didn't expect), and I liked the secondary cast as well. Not something I'd re-watch. If you don't mind that the big reveal doesn't happen until the last couple of episodes, I'd say to give this a watch.

TL;DR - The gangster mafia male lead gets the high schooler female lead to negotiate with an arms dealer on his behalf while she's still in her school uniform. If this sentence makes you cringe, then I advise you don't watch but if you find humor in that, I'd say to give it a go. You gotta suspend your disbelief a lot on this one plus the romance is not too hot, but the unintentional humor this show gives and the kick-ass actions of the FL make it worth a watch.

I honestly wasn't sure what to rate this lakorn, as I had many things that I enjoyed but also many things that I disliked. I kinda figured I would average it out to an average score even though subjectively, I'd probably add a 0.5-1 extra for the laughs and comfort it gave me (as I was stressed when I started watching this). However I can't deny the subpar aspects of this lakorn and will actually start with the potholes first.

To sum it up: the editing, directing, production and story/plotline. All of these were done dirty to the point where it was actually funny how bad it was. You get the sense that the directors meant for this to be a serious and dark drama about the mafia, but with the stylistic choices made, it's very hard to take it seriously. Regarding the story; it's quite illogical and you have to suspend your disbelief heavily in order to watch. The way they depict the mafia and gang relations is unrealistic and the things that they get certain characters (esp Nark) to do just doesn't make sense. Important secondary characters also drop like flies with little to no remorse. The pacing is also pretty bad as there's a lot of filler, and I'd say about half the drama is the actors just staring at each other for long periods of time. As I was watching this, the editing reminded me of a PowerPoint presentation where each slide had the same special effect; you effectively had multiple sequences of scenes where the camera cut to one person and then zoomed in on their face; then it would cut to another and do the same thing. The music was also very overplayed (although I did like it), and some of the outfits looked like they were styled by someone with absolutely no fashion sense.

Of course I have to mention the fantastic acting from Bomb, who played the male lead (and by fantastic I mean terrible lol). I knew Bomb was stiff as hell from seeing him in Khun Chai Rachanon, but here he seemed even more flat. There were times throughout the lakorn where it seemed like he was mentally not there; something I found amusing, but it was also frustrating in scenes where he was supposed to emote. It didn't help that with all the zoomed-in staring scenes this lakorn had, that he was the one who had the most close-ups (ofc since he's the ML) where he just gave nothing. At most I felt he was serviceable here. I don't hate Bomb, but it just sucks when you know a different actor could've elevated the character of Lin Lan Ser (LLS) even more and make him more watchable.

And yet. Despite all these issues I had, I still enjoyed watching this. I found some of the bad things (PowerPoint editing, Bomb's flat expressions) to be amusing in a way and would giggle uncontrollably when it came about. What I found funny was that this was intended to be a serious mafia drama, but then when presented with the unrealistic depictions and some small things (like trying to pass off Taipei as Hong Kong, the bad guy talking to the villain on the phone while literally getting a bullet taken out of him, Nark passing out with her eyes open and crossed like a cartoon character), it's just begging to be made fun of. I just wonder how they thought the audience could take it seriously with all that and if anything, this could've been a satire on mafia dramas. 

This show was also greatly helped by a good secondary cast and the star of the show, Ruthainark. Mint's back must've hurt from pretty much carrying the show on her shoulders with her wonderful depiction of her character, Nark. I love that Nark is fearless, very independent and solves problems on her own. She talks back to LLS in an audacious manner that is funny and admirable. She's also crucial for the story progression as it is her plans and meddling that allows the plot to move forward. It did drive me a little crazy at how dense she was to LLS's feelings, although LLS deserved it haha. When comparing Mint's lively portrayal of Nark to Bomb's flat one, it strangely complements each other and generates this weird chemistry (more on that later). I do want to mention some fave secondary characters in Jongsing (who's pretty much the reason why LLS is at the top), Danny (who always knew what was up) and Mei Jin. Mei Jin was a surprise for me as her actress usually plays the bitchy, possessive types but here she was just a sad lady looking for love. I was sad at her ending and she definitely deserved better.

Now for the romance, I'd say in general it was lacking. However I don't think that's to a fault, as the leads had a huge age gap (and the FL was still underage) so it helped to not make the pairing feel so icky. I did think that both characters complemented each other, and had this interesting chemistry where I couldn't help but think they were cute together. It's not the healthiest relationship by any means, but if I'm just looking at this as a drama-made relationship and not a realistic depiction of one, then I don't mind.

Overall, I'm still not quite sure what to make of this lakorn. The bad and the good balance each other out. But what I will say is that this came at a time when I wanted to watch something mindless and funny, and this achieved that. If you come into this lakorn with the expectation that this is a fantastical/unintentionally humorous portrayal of the mafia, with a somewhat acceptable love story between a gang leader and a high schooler, then I think you'd have a good time. For re-watch value, I would probably re-watch some select scenes I found funny, but not more than that.

TL;DR - An excellent lakorn on all fronts (story, characters, music and romance). If you want to watch a good classic lakorn with no bullshit, you should definitely give this one a watch.

Have you ever had an experience where you wish you could forget everything so you can relive the moments over again? That is what watching this lakorn is for me. There is so much that I loved about this and I'll try not to gush too much, but off the bat this is a highly recommended watch and I'll explain why below .

One of the things I really liked about this show was how every moment counted and added to the story; there was no wasted filler. Every scene had a point, whether to develop the story or the characters. This made it easy to zip through the episodes and I never felt the urge to FF or was bored, because every scene was engaging and mattered. I loved how it really captured the feel of how life was in the 1930s in Thailand, how people thought, and how the social customs were. While I didn't agree with some of the ideas, I can't really blame it considering the time this was set in and when the lakorn was released. Everything made sense and I didn't have to think too hard to justify the actions of characters or story direction.

Speaking of the characters, this was casted perfectly and I pretty much loved all the characters, even the villains. This lakorn really took the time to build them up and make me understand them as individuals, and added depth that made them more than a secondary cast; they felt like real people, with their own feelings, thoughts and dreams, that in turn made me care for and root for them. I also loved the relationships that were built; in particular I loved the relationships between Prissana and her sisters. It made me think of my relationship with my own sister. I also felt I could relate to each sister in some way, and my fave is Anong because I am the most like her. I felt so bad when Praweet went from liking her to liking Prissana, but couldn't deny that Prissana was just so much more outstanding and Anong could not compete (I too, have been in a similar situation). I wish Anong didn't accept Praveet back since I felt she could do better, but she was clearly still in love with him and since it made her happy, then I'm happy too.

Some MVPs are Anon and Prissana's mom. Both characters I didn't expect to like as much, but both are just simply amazing and admirable. Both managed to be more than the roles of a typical 2ndary ML and the FL's mom, and all I can say is that you really have to watch to see what I mean.

Now to talk about our leads, Prissana and Tan Chai Puth. Prissana is simply one of a kind. She's headstrong but knows when to draw back (except with Tan Chai!), knows what she wants, can deal with people, is intelligent, confident, realistic and she doesn't bother with someone unless they bother her. I really liked how she dealt with Praveet; she had legit reasons for not wanting to marry him (incompatible personalities, etc) that were reasonable and well thought out, and not just that she doesn't think of him that way. I found that very refreshing. I'm impressed at how modern she was but could balance that with being in 1930s Thailand (as a side note, I was shocked to hear how fluent she was in English. Very unexpected!). Prissana is very unique (love her curls too!) and I don't think other FLs can compare.

I didn't initially like Tan Chai Puth, mainly because of the dog incident and how he didn't apologize for it after. There were some incidents that happened that were his fault that he didn't own up to and it frustrated me. But it actually made sense the way he reacted; as the lakorn explained, he is rich and royalty, and is used to having people cater to him and not the other way around. That's why it made it so much better when he did own up to his faults later in the story, and was the first to profess his love to Prissana. He's charismatic and wise, and I found his undying love to be endearing. Tan Chai is pretty much the embodiment of an ideal lover (though Praveet is in reality what men are like haha).

Of course, I loved the romance. It made sense and the slow burn got me all in the feels. I have to say, I'm surprised at the amount of affection that was displayed. Their hugs looked so warm and comforting, and I'm surprised they even had a kiss scene (granted it was a fake one, but I'm okay with that). I'm cheesed that we didn't get to see their wedding, but I thought their last scene together about being apart one last time (this was the night before their wedding) was beautifully done.

The music was wonderful and appropriately played. Overall, this was an excellent lakorn that kept me invested in the story and its characters from start to finish. I will likely re-watch this. If you want to watch a classic period drama with no filler or screaming/2-D characters, then I would highly recommend that you give this a watch.

TL;DR - A good one to watch if you are the type that only cares about the OTP. It does get kdrama-esque near the end, but you will still finish the lakorn feeling satisfied. Arthit's dad is MVP.

It has been a hot minute since I've watched a channel 3 lakorn and I saw that this was considered one of the best in 2020, so I decided to give this a go. After finishing it today, I was left feeling pleasant and satisfied. While I have no regrets watching it, there are some issues I did have that brought this down lower than I expected. I will first discuss what I enjoyed.

The main thing I enjoyed was definitely the character development of our leads, with Paeng being obvious but also Arthit surprisingly near the end. I had a love-hate relationship with Arthit tbh; his bullying of Paeng, while warranted in the beginning, got too much to the point of grotesque and I was very close to writing him off. But eventually, he does get his comeuppance later on and with that he mellows out and matures. I also liked how his character was consistent; sometimes with these possessive types, their moods go up and down like crazy and their actions are all over the place. But with him, it was always consistent and even with all his ridiculous actions, it never felt out of character (I just want to shout out at how he legit threw up when he heard Paeng and Non were dating; on anyone else it would seem like overreacting but with him it felt like something he would do and I found a lot of humor in that).

I also loved how this was set in the countryside and how beautiful the scenery was. Sometimes, I would pay more attention to the background (and admire it) then the actual scene at hand haha. It definitely gave a different, more homey feel than if this was set in the city.

This show was mainly focused on our leads and I have to say, it's a good thing they casted the right people for them. I think Kao and Mark did a pretty good job with their characters; even when they were being terrible, they were still watchable. You could understand their motivations and although I did not agree with some of the actions they took, I could understand why. Their transition from hate to love was very well done and I loved their proposal scene and wedding at the end.

Another thing is the MVP of this lakorn which is Arthit's dad; if you know, you know. He was the best character out of the entire lakorn with how understanding and awesome he was, and I kinda wished he could be my dad.

Now for some issues I had. First is that because this was focused heavily on the leads, it left almost no development or time for the secondary cast. They had more presence in the beginning, but pretty much faded out in the third part of the lakorn. Even if they did show up, they were used as a tool to move the plot forward or a means to get the leads together. In particular, I have to comment on our 2nd leads, Non and Ling. While I'm glad they weren't terrible, they were essentially used to propel the romance of our main leads, and I really couldn't care less about them or their romance.  Their story was very stereotypical and a huge turn off for me, so I ended up skipping their moments. They had an interesting conflict near the end with Ling's infertility, but that was pretty much resolved in 10 minutes and added to my disinterest of them.

Another issue I had was a logic inconsistency, in which characters would take a certain action that didn't make sense. There were a lot of moments while watching where I thought "If character A was like so, they would take action B instead of C", and it wasn't something I could ignore. An example I'll give is when Non was preparing to propose to Ling. You would think with how much he loves Ling and fought to be with her, that he would plan his proposal to her. Instead, he gets Arthit and Paeng, who've largely been dealing with their own issues, to plan it out which is weird. Most of this was done to again push our leads together or out of convenience, which I couldn't help but be a little turned off by.

Finally, I have to say that the last third of the lakorn felt very drawn out and was very reminiscent of an old-style kdrama, where the mom intervenes in the relationship and they have to break up bc of that. Firstly, they could've cut down those episodes and secondly, it annoyed me that Paeng was being a noble idiot and bringing about unnecessary drama and angst. I hate the noble idiot route and personally find it better when both leads fight for the relationship. I don't want them to force it, but they can certainly work on convincing the mom instead of getting teary eyed and wishing eo well when you know damn well they will get together in the end. To me it's a waste of time, and I wished this was filled more with romance instead.

All in all, I still came off happy watching this and enjoyed myself for the most part. Music was good and played appropriately. I don't see myself re-watching this as a whole, but I would come back to specific moments in the lakorn. If you were wondering if you should watch this lakorn, and don't mind that the leads are the main focus, I would totally say to give it a watch.

TL;DR - A solid lakorn with well-written characters and sizzling OTP. Good watch for new and old lakorn viewers alike.

I'm kind of kicking myself for not watching this sooner. I had seen this lakorn come up again and again and how it was a good one, but I had my doubts and never really got to watching it until now. I have to say, the doubts were completely unfounded and I really enjoyed watching this, though in a bit of a different way than how I'd enjoy other lakorns.

First, the thing that stood out to me the most is the acting and how well written the characters were; everyone in the cast acted well, and in particular I really liked Sean's portrayal as the stern, but kind hearted Sake and Esther as the innocent, sassy, naive but not stupid Kate. It would've been easy for me to feel annoyed by these types of characters (especially Sake, since he sort of insta-loved on Kate, which is a pet peeve) but the way they were portrayed made them endearing and very enjoyable to watch (LOVE how Sake doesn't go back to/feel sorry for his ex-wife). I especially fell for Sean in this, just cause he's so expressive and could really make me feel what his character was feeling in the moment.

Some 2nd lead appreciation: I really appreciated that they didn't make Pu go crazy and pine after Kate after he figured she was falling for Sake; he did get desperate, but came to a realization and quietly let her go. I also liked that they didn't make Pa a jealous bitch; she was sarcastic and spiky, but had a good heart and quietly liked Pu, respecting his feelings for Kate. Just normal human interactions and mature thoughts instead of the crazy interactions that usually come in lakorns like this (not that I hate them, but they can be a bit much) made it really stand out for me.

I also want to say, I really liked the 2ndary cast as again they were all well written and very likeable (esp Sake's mom, omg she's so cool, I wish I could be like her). This is of course with exception to the ex-wife and main villain, but the villain was actually threatening here and I felt creeps every time he spoke.

The lakorn was not all normal though, as the storyline was quite far-fetched; however it was done in a way that was surprisingly believable and Kate's dad, who was the initial shit-stirrer and did really terrible stuff, I found I could not hate. I felt that Kate's dad, despite what he did, really had the best intentions and really cared for Kate's well-being (thus I couldn't hate him, even though I usually would). What I also liked is how they made Kate's parents more involved in the story. They were more than just the figures to consult with when Kate had a problem and the lakorn showed how they had their own struggles and how they dealt with them, which I really liked. I wished they did this with the other parent figures, although I get that the story isn't about them.

The main stars are Kate and Sake of course and wow, I see why Sean and Esther were highly shipped together when this aired. Both had amazing chemistry with each other and played off one another very well. Their bickering was super cute. I did feel there was a missed opportunity to add depth to their relationship and there were some things that didn't make sense, but overall I still really liked them as a couple.

I liked how the lakorn knew where to end; at first I thought 12 eps was short, but I could feel myself detaching from the lakorn as it hit ep 11 (it got predictable). There was not much filler and most scenes were meaningful and engaging, which made the drama easier to zip through.

Overall this was a great watch and does live up to the hype it has. The music is memorable and played appropriately. I have to say, for a lakorn that was made in 2015 (and for me as a lakorn veteran) this was surprisingly watchable and was better quality in terms of story, character and OTP than some recent lakorns. It just has a lot of heart, characters that I could root for/empathize with and character interactions that were mature and logical. I would totally recommend that you watch it if you haven't already. As for re-watching I don't think I would, but I'll certainly look back fondly on this and remember the uniqueness of the cast and what I felt while watching.

TL;DR - Standard rom-com with a yandere twist that I didn't appreciate. 2ndary storyline and supporting cast make it worth watching. If you have time and like rom-coms, go for it.

If I could give this a 7.25, I would. I went through all kinds of emotions that I didn't expect to from this lakorn; I was confused, enamored, disappointed, bored and ultimately satisfied in the end. The beginning was confusing for me because the family relations were not explained properly, and it took about a quarter of the way in to figure out all the relationships. I would like to explain them briefly below in case you're interested (if not then just skip the next paragraph for my review).

The FL (Fah) has a bio sister named Dao and an adopted brother named Tawan/Nuk. Fah's parents took Nuk in when his parents passed away, although her parents also passed away at some point. Nuk's mom was estranged from her dad (Nuk's gpa) bc she married someone he didn't approve of. Nuk's gpa is a boss of a big jewelry conglomerate. Eventually when Nuk got older, he went to live with his gpa to learn the business. Nuk's gpa has 3 kids; one is Nuk's mom who died, his adopted gambler son (he has his wife and 2 kids who are the main antagonists) and his daughter born from when a housemaid drugged him (she has her own son). Nuk is forced to marry Pink, who is the daughter of the guy who gpa tried to set Nuk's mom with and niece to our ML (Neung). The drama starts with Nuk's wedding and Fah trying to stop it, only to somehow end up marrying Pink's uncle, Neung.

I found the beginning to be pretty cute and although this wasn't an addictive watch for me, and there were illogical holes here and there, I enjoyed what I was seeing up to ep 22; this was where the problems started for me. To start off, I have to talk about Neung. I liked Neung a lot, not only because he was handsome, but also he was a gentleman and treated Fah very well. I was pretty enamored of him until he got all yandere with Fah after he found out she was talking to Nuk behind his back (he thought Nuk was Fah's lover at this point). He took her phone away (I think he broke it), tied her up in the bathtub, gagged her and screamed at her while (I think) spraying water at her (I'm not too clear on the details bc I hated this scene and don't want to revisit it). Like I agree that what Fah did was wrong, and sure he did it to protect her, but this still felt incredibly extreme and I felt like he could've handled it differently. I was even more disappointed with what happened after, when Neung tried to make up with Fah. His apology was more or less like "I'm sorry for what I did...but if the person doing this to me was someone I loved, then they probably had a reason for doing this and I'd understand." Like wtf, how would she know that - you two are still keeping secrets from eo and that's not an apology. An apology is owning up what you did and that's that. I felt like the Neung I'd been watching all along would be better than this. This event ruined my view of Neung and I just couldn't love him as must as I used to.

When I stopped loving Neung, I subsequently stopped being invested in the romance, and the illogical things that I'd been ignoring or suspending my beliefs for came up to bother me. Some of these were: 
-Neung insta-loving on Fah
-Gpa's actions making no sense. He hates his daughter for being lowborn even though she's the one who loves him the most, but gives chances to his adopted son who's clearly a waste of space and supports his family who are clearly incompetent 
-The villains were a joke and made very dumb decisions-The storyline with Fah and Nuk's parents was messy
-Why did Pin (villain's daughter) still try to go after Neung even though he was clearly married?? They never interacted b4 that and her mom was encouraging it, even though she'd look like a homewrecker. 
-Why couldn't Neung tell Fah that him liking Pin was a ruse??

These were some of the things that made me feel annoyed and I eventually FF-ed due to how predictable things got. I will say, this part of the lakorn was not a lost cause; the storyline between the 2nd leads was unique and carried the lakorn for me to the end. It's funny bc at first I didn't care for Pink or Nuk, but they came out as my fave characters out of the entire show. Pink's circumstances with her pregnancy were unfortunate, but she stayed strong and classy throughout the ordeal, and you could understand where she was coming from. Her relationship with Wut was loving, mature and full of understanding. I couldn't tell if Pink would stay with Nuk or be with Wut, and would've been fine with either. Nuk was amazing as a great older brother, competent worker and a good person overall. When he learned about Pink's circumstances, he helped her and Wut out. He was there for Fah and Dao and took care of them. He was someone who you'd want to have in your corner, and became my MVP for this lakorn.

The supporting cast was also great, especially the dynamic duo of Dao's manager and Chang. Grandma was also awesome. The storyline of this lakorn got better near the end when everything was revealed, and I got back to watching in normal speed. Everyone got what they deserved. Due to the goodwill I built with most of the characters (even Neung), I was pretty satisfied with the story and character progression, and was overall happy with the ending.

All in all, I'd say this is a typical Thai rom-com (except the yandere part) and everything from the story to the music was pretty standard. The 2nd and their story was the only thing worth watching. This is an easy watch, and if you wanna pass time, I'd give this a go. I do wanna say, the casting for this lakorn was spot on esp with Dao and Nuk, which is probably why I'm not scoring this lower. Otherwise, this is not something I'd re-watch and not my cup of tea.

This is a pretty classic lakorn that a lot of people have reviewed, but I figured I'd just put my two cents in as I've been wanting to write a review for this for a while. I watched this twice before I made my MDL account and was gonna watch it a third time so I could give a more accurate review, but something occurred in the lakorn that made me stop cold turkey - for the sake of wanting to remember the good things about this, I will mainly base my review on my first 2 watches.

Basically this is the best slow burn romance lakorn, and the historical aspect makes it that much better. All that matters is the way Por Date gazes lovingly at Kadesurang. I have an embarrassing amount of saved screenshots of Date looking at her and watching him grow to love her is super endearing. Him mimicking her modern mannerisms was also super cute. Kadesurang/Karakade is also very endearing and it's really fun to watch her be a fish out of water as a modern lady in ancient times. Even more cool is that she was previously a historian, and her appreciating all the ancient customs/things made me appreciate them too. Her enthusiasm is infectious. I also liked how she didn't interfere with the events she knew was coming and was a silent observer instead. 

Other great things about this lakorn is that there's no crazy jealous/bitchy second leads, amazing 2ndry cast, engaging plot and how it presented the history of Ayutthaya in an informative and engaging manner. The best thing for me was honestly the music; boran music is my total weakness and all the songs were beautiful, poignant and carried the mood of the lakorn very well. I pretty much have all the songs on my playlist.

One thing I recall that I didn't like about this lakorn is how Karakade would use her modern mannerisms and expect her servants to understand - I felt this was a bit much. I also felt Karakade's progression to loving Date was not well done; while there were many reasons for her to fall for him, I kinda felt like she just came to like him "just because" and not because she truly loved him (like I couldn't feel deep love from her compared to the deep love I felt from Date). 

Another thing I have to factor in is what happened in my 3rd attempt at watching; basically in the beginning, Date hates Kadesurang because of the crap that Karakade did. But while hating her, they showed clips of him being nice to her for no apparent reason, which made no sense. He goes back to hating her but that was enough to turn me off. I'm not sure how I didn't catch this the first couple times I watched, though it may be because of how I've changed as a lakorn watcher then vs now. 

I'll likely get over this bump and will go back to re-watch this at some point, but for now I'm happy to remember it as an amazing slow burn romance with a complex, intriguing plot. I'd totally recommend you watch if you haven't already and am looking forward to the sequel.

TL;DR - A sweet story of two soulmates fighting against the odds to be together. Nice supporting cast and interesting lessons to be learned. Kinda wish there was more scenes of our OTP together.

Colour me impressed at how much I enjoyed this lakorn. I initially wasn't gonna watch it because A) The last Pong lakorn I watched was bad B) The age gap between the leads and C) I remember briefly watching the Taiwan version and not liking it. It wasn't until I read the comments on this that I decided to give it a go, and just wow, I can finally say I've watched a Pong lakorn where I actually like his character (he was my favourite here!).

Pong's character Wynn gave me all the feels. Such a gentleman and overall good guy, and the way he looked at Jane made me super envious. I loved how even if he didn't remember her, his body and heart still gravitated towards her. Jane was also very likeable. It was wonderful to see Wynn and Jane fall in love with each other again and again even after one forgot the other. Their dynamic gave me the vibes of an older, mature but capable gentleman taking care of a young lady (who also cares for him back) which is a guilty pleasure trope for me. It was awesome seeing them both fight for their love and pretty much beat the odds to be together (as a side note, a lot of people commented on the last episode being tearful - I naively thought I wouldn't cry but my gosh, I stayed up till 2am crying in my pillow on the last ep, their relationship was just that precious).  

I quite liked our secondary cast and in particular I liked P'Tae a lot. So handsome and also a good guy, but not a doormat. He has Jane's best interests at heart and is there for her when she needs him. It frustrated me when he agreed to marry Jane even tho he knew she didn't love him; I liked him enough that I wanted him to be the first choice for someone and not the back-up. I kinda wished he was the one who broke it off with Jane but at least they didn't end up together. I liked Rashane and Lisa as well but it did turn me off to see them go from villains to remorseful people, with little to no showing of their progression to that state. This was more apparent with Lisa, who initially looked down on Shane for not being on the same level as Wynn and refused to love him. But then a few eps later, she's suddenly super in love with Shane and Shane, instead of noticing this change, does something real stupid (if he had been paying attention, this could've been avoided). I get it helped in the progression of the story, but this abrupt character development and the illogical actions that followed were quite the turn-off for me.

Beyond that, I have to say the story was pretty good. The cause of all the twists, turns and heartbreak was due to the water goddess I loved to hate. I hated her for the impossible deals she made with Wynn and Jane, and how she tried to tear apart their love - but this just showed how much Wynn and Jane were willing to sacrifice for each other, at the expense of their own life and dreams. I also felt the deals she made, although cruel, were very appropriate and I liked how she didn't make it easy for them. They worked very hard for the HEA and I'm very glad she gave to them in the end.

Another thing I liked about this lakorn is the themes/life lessons it perpetuated, eg. Treat the environment well, true love conquers all, don't be a bad person or karma will get you, don't spend your short life on Earth with hate, live life to the fullest etc. I generally find these to be cheesy and overused, but here it worked for me and I appreciated how the lakorn tried to leave me with more than just entertainment.

I liked the music and bgm was appropriately played. Although I liked this a lot, it's a good one time watch for me. I might go back for some swoony Wynn moments, but unfortunately although there is clear love between our leads, the circumstances they're in makes them separate for most of the lakorn with either Jane or Wynn hurting. I wanted more scenes with our OTP together and in love lol. But this was still a pretty good watch and would totally recommend you check it out if you have time.

TL;DR - A really good slap kiss lakorn with an amazing OTP, 2nd OTP, and interesting storyline. Beware of constant misunderstandings and a certain batshit crazy female character.

Wow, it's been awhile since I binged watched a lakorn and overall I had a great experience watching this. The leads are unique and very likeable, and their love story was well developed and engaging. It was very easy for me to click the next episode immediately after to see what would happen next. 

I really really liked our leads, Witsanee (Nee) and Arrum, two people with opposing personalities that complemented each other very well. Nee is such a queen; she is bold and playful, and wasted no chance at teasing Arrum whenever she could. Arrum is stoic and kind of quiet in the beginning, but his defenses pretty much melt against Nee's charms and he falls hard for her (as a side note - the way he says her name and looks at her gets me in the feels lol). Their relationship was quite the rollercoaster ride, from flirty co-workers to enemies-ish to lovers. It made for a fun watch and I really appreciated the time taken to develop their relationship after the accident (btw it really was an accident - the breaks weren't found to be broken and there wasn't a plan to kill Non). Both take their anger out on each other equally and in a believable manner. The path to forgiveness wasn't easy but well fought for on both fronts. I was also pleasantly surprised by the amount of real kisses we were given! I do wonder how their relationship would've panned out if Non was still alive; we clearly see that Arrum is very attracted, and even starts to love Nee although he's with Non (I would consider that cheating, even tho him and Nee were never physical at that point). He was more or less with Non because they'd been together for 7 years, which is a common reason why couples who've fallen out of love stick together. As bad as it sounds, I'm glad Non ended the way she did (it's a toss up of whether I think she deserved it or not) otherwise our leads wouldn't have gotten together.

I really liked the supporting cast, especially Chart. He's the kind of guy who always has your back and one you want to go to for advice. His fake charade with Nee at her meeting the in-laws date was hilarious. Him and Noot make a great duo together and their interactions were very cute (I really loved their tin can telephone scenes!). I also liked Nee's dad, and it was great watching him and Nee resolve their relationship through the show. Nee's stepmom was a surprise like; I thought she would be an evil stepmom but actually she was super classy and cared more for Nee than Nee's own mom.

A couple things holding me back from rating this higher is first the misunderstandings, and jeez there were too many of them. Some were warranted, some were not. But what annoyed me the most were the misunderstandings perpetrated by Su (a complete psycho) and Jan. The way Su did it was believable although I felt like she did it so often that Arrum should've noticed. Jan obviously had bad intentions to Nee, yet Arrum would still believe her again and again, and hurt Nee unnecessarily. It got a little repetitive and I had to FF to pass. I also had to FF through the Yothin bs a lot, especially through his evil mother, whose greed knew no bounds. I also disliked how everyone kept tolerating Su after all the bs and psycho shit she did, and while karma did catch up to her, I felt she was let loose for way too long.  

I did feel the first 7 episodes were a little draggy (I was literally waiting for Non to die lol) but it set the dynamics nicely and established the relationship between our leads well. I also really liked the music, and wish there was an OST list I could look up so I can find the songs. Overall, this was a great story of love, loss and redemption and the love story is something that will stay close to my heart. I'd totally recommend you watch and I'll certainly re-watch for the OTP moments.
