strong start!!

indeed the screenplay handled badly his presumed death. Only a few Chinese period dramas are great from start to finish, this one is not one of them.

a little explanation in the right moment, a scene to play it out would suffice to support an happy ending. This is simply a lack of attention, taking viewers' acceptance of a bewildered happy ending for granted

I did notice the look the medic gave to the coffin, but from that to establish it is part of a plan lacks at least a scene that plays it out. Leaving viewers to assume, to fantasize, is unworthy for a drama of this size and commitment. It may be good enough for a short drama in which everything is rush and over and done with in minutes.

Thanks, the screen play didn't have it, it actually misses a crucial part of the entire drama.

I have watched all remaining episodes and the special episode after ep.36. It is a happy ending, so I am all for it. However, the male lead clearly died, all of a suddenly he came back alive at end ep.36. the only explanation is given in the special episode in which his medical friend said he has finally found the cure for the poison. But what actually happened? Did his friend steal his body, took him away for four years without telling anyone? It is clear the female lead is as surprised as we arenthst he is still alive! What a carless way to end the drama, a happy ending with no logic or adequate explanation is nearly as bad as a sad ending.

well said, all the ingredients are there, but the screenwriter made an instant soup with them instead of a great and delicious broth that needs simmering. All events presented are scratched only on the surface and brushed off with a band aid.

A plead to those who will soon know if this drama has a happy ending or not, please just spoil whether it is a good or bad ending. it will be such an enormous humanitarian gesture !

anyone knows the airing schedule of the week? this drama has only 28 episodes and ep.22 is already aired today..

I think after ep.20 of today, the remaining episodes will be going downhill until the last couple of episodes, if not actually the last one, to let us, hopefully, to a happy ending. So am taking a pause now, to concentrate on key of the phoenix heart, until the final episodes air.

I like the story line a lot, refreshing and well delivered by the cast. Good 📽️ too, great settings and colours, the costumes are very easy to the eye

the child Is not his, the mother was actually the wife of and ex general or something. The others lady Is wife in name only, a marriage Alliance needed ti secure help for the military. To put it plainly, the ml die bi have a real wife

love to watch this drama, it tells a good story and the cast are well chosen. I like the fight scenes too. The male lead is every inch a a stone face general with a tender heart and the female lead fits the role to a T. This period drama is shorter than others, it has only 28 episodes, what a shame.
