Even more brutal? He's just been basically graping him in almost all their sexual encounters. I stopped reading before the brothel part.

Taishin's intention was not even to pursue him. Takara conforted him in one of he's saddest moments when his beloved pet, his best friend died. He felt lonely and sought some kind of connection with that person he met on the mountain. Sure, it time it becomes as their friendship blooms.

I agree. I've had friends like that and I used to be like that, the doe in front of the headlights. It's something that usually happens when you have helicopter parents or you lead a very sheltered childhood and adolescence.
