1. I think there is a difference between considering someone a friend and them interacting with them. So, is your issue…her still seeing him as a friend or interacting with him? After she found out, they didn’t have any interactions (until ep 30) but it didn’t stop thinking of him as a friend
2. I could still be friends with someone who liked me if they understood that I’m not responsible for their feelings. Maybe we don’t see each other for a while they process and if I’m dating someone but that wouldn’t run them out as being considered a friend
3. I think that’s a really narrow world view and it has nothing to do with self-respect. If all are adults, then, then you should be able to be okay with it. But it varies relationship to relationship.
4. I agree they have that issue in dramaland but this is a reverse harem story where the plot is that they all like her.

It’s completely fair that you grew up in a toxic environment. It’s completely that you don’t empathize. It still doesn’t change the fact that there are individuals who grow up in that environment that either take a long time to break or don’t at all and repeat the cycle. And it’s fair to lose interest in him. I lost interest in him being a romantic partner but I didn’t in his character because it’s still a good character.

I don’t think it’s confusing. When she talked about women not being below men, she clearly meant in sports and politics. She’s a girls girl in that sense. But having that, doesn’t mean she can’t fall into the trap of being mean spirited. She’s a teenage girl, she’ll be snarky because the guy she likes is in pain. Hopefully, her behavior will come around but being a girls girl and fighting for women’s rights, doesn’t always mean always doing everything right.

At least she’s not fake and keeps the energy constantly. She probs thought it was a bit much for them to show up at the mourning as well. Like it was a bit much for YX to do to JZ house before her wedding.

How disappointed might I be from the drama to the novel? I thought about reading it after the drama so I wouldn’t compare too much.

It’s not an excuse but it is a reason, the young emperor is mature, yes, because he was raised that way. XY, was a kid who wasn’t expected to live past 10, who’s family constantly belittled him for not being strong enough to inherit his fathers title. He environment matters. That being said, his immaturity & insecurity are explanations for his behavior but not excuses. Most people are saying why they understand and give grace, not that it’s an excuse.

Can’t fully agree. I think she had great chemistry with ML. It was just a different type. Rise of Ning is still one my favs to rewatch.

I mean, I would hope he knew he who he was marrying. Like, she’s proven herself to be the type of person who care and save the people she’s cared about. Ye Xian was her friend and CYY knew this, so he should know that she would want to save him.

I don’t think the emperor would have to ask. Despite disliking CYY, he does listen to him and respects him on some level.

That’s fair, I’m not trying to convince you, just giving my piece as to why crying makes sense.

Like for me, it doesn’t make sense not to cry for a male friend because I treat and care for my female and male friends the same.

And she hasn’t cried for the male lead because there hasn’t been a reason. When he went to jail, informed her. Their relationship isn’t on the verge of ending. It wouldn’t have made sense for her to cry for him at this point.

But I guess, overall, the crying wasn’t out of place to me because she felt they had a bond and he was important to her now they’re relationship is at the point where she thinks it can’t go back.

Crying doesn’t mean she did anything wrong.

I don’t think she took blame, she just feels bad. Really bad. Even more bad because she never considered him as a romantic partner so it’s heart breaking because it is what it is. You can feel bad & not take blame.

Right? Like it’s heart breaking for her because she knows it’s heart breaking for him and she knows it won’t change anything because she loved who she loves.

I don’t see how her crying doesn’t make sense & she’s mourning the loss of a possible friendship. She a crying because her friend is hurt. She called him her confidant & he’s important to her. People can cry and mourn for their friends. She’s crying because she can see his heart breaking and sadly it doesn’t matter, because she doesn’t love him. She’s crying because she also knows he’s will probably go and do something stupid. But this wasn’t a random person , it was a good friend.
