I'm glad you agree. It's so sad they wasted all the cast like this! In the beginning, when they showed the Shenzhou Sworn Brotherhood, I REALLY loved them :( I thought we were gonna get more of them. So sad they wasted all the things we could've gotten from this friend group! And not to mention, they had to kill off one of them so early (the most interesting, most lovable and cute one who made the group so funny and more interesting! even sacrificing himself for his friend! And that last moment when he looked into Qiushui's eyes 😭 Oh, my favorite duo/ship, they just HAD to waste it! Even till now, I still think about him. I'm so glad Qiushui never forgets about him bc I still can't! ngl, everytime he thinks of him, I cry lol is that a bit too much?)...

It was disappointing unfortunately to see the two friends just watching the friend who saved them (Qiushui) getting hurt and barely really standing up for him when everyone was against him bc they did not believe his words. I know if Tang Rou was there, he would do anything to stop it and sacrifice himself for him again if he could... I loved the parts these 4 friends were fighting together... we could've kept that going. But they decided to just make him be the only one fighting later on against people unfortunately... and yeah the brother storyline is starting to get boring for me too that I wished they could have shown smth else instead of that, oh well...

I love this drama soooo much BUT... lemme rant

What I'm really disappointed in with this drama is that they did not develop the relationships well. They don't put any focus on the Tang siblings and Liu Suifeng... like does Suifeng feel any regret for what he did to his own brother, Tang Rou? No reconciliation and bond between Tang Fang and him???? And what happened when Suifeng revealed to Tang Fang (with Qiushui listening) that her father got his mother pregnant (which means they are siblings) and left them for power? No anger, no emotion from Tang Fang? Or like not even Qiushui. They made it seem like this was not a big deal when it actually really is... This is definitely the script's fault.

Also, how about Crazy Yan's sister (I bet I know who it is tho lol)? They not focusing on that either? Really sad they don't focus on these bonds and relationships which would have made the drama even better. I love plot-driven dramas but character-driven is important for me, too. To be able to feel the characters more... I kinda wish that drama had that. I was hoping more friendship would be shown but I have to say random ppl do get shown out of nowhere and they become friends already with all the other friends in Shenzhou Sworn Brotherhood... unfortunately, the depth is not there with which if there were, could have made this drama make us feel connected and feel more emotion and happiness with the characters more. Like to be able to watch the friendship grow in this drama is what I would have loved bc I really love it when a drama has friendship. These are like prob my main complaints about it.

Like the drama is REALLY good and the plot is one of the best I've seen that I can't wait for episodes everyday, but I do wish they did write the characters and their emotional depth more... it's just some of these things they show in the drama, yet don't put any focus on them, which I find them important to the audience, they DON'T put focus on them unfortunately.

And I just don't understand Yiren and Kaiyan LMAO idk how these brothers became like this when their parents are sooo nice and raised them well. The drama does not write them well making us NOT feel any sadness or understanding for them (and I would have preferred that, I mean we all do I'm sure) like dramas where we see a character becomes evil or smth but at the same time, we get to understand why they are (tho it may not be justifying) but it's like you FEEL them and have mixed feelings for them. I even felt betrayed by a beloved character in a recent drama that I watched that I even cried. In the end, his feelings for his beloved friends were REAL and not fake (befriending them made him feel less lonely but in the end, it was too late for him to turn back from his bad deeds he already committed) so it made me still really love the character like I did before his evil side showed. Unfortunately, I don't feel anything with any of the bad guys in THIS drama....

The fact that we got that ADWAD, MM, and FoF reunion between the main casts (which I consider as part of my top favorites), oh I am looking forward to this 😭

I'm a lil confused... Li Yitong is dubbed in the recent trailer but in the other trailer we were all used to (link below)... it was her real voice??? Were they about to use her real voice for the drama or what? Cuz Joseph seems to be dubbed in both trailers 😭

But it seems like all the actors' voices are in this trailer besides Joseph's (of the 7 main)... Not sure about Cheng Hongxin since Idk his real voice

Just watched the trailer and... is Deng Wei finally not dubbed???? I've always loved his voice but that voice actor he always has (Lost You Forever, Till the End of the Moon, Love of the Divine Tree) fits him sooo well that I have a hard time distinguishing whether a voice from his trailer is his real voice or not... but after rewatching a clip from a livestream of his, I think this is his real voice???? If it is, I am so happy 😭 Literally both his voice and voice actor just fits him so well lol! If he is dubbed, I always hope it's the VA I'm used to... Otherwise, plz give us his real voice! 😩

Anyways, why did they have to dub Joseph's voice AGAIN (after Feud) AND Li Yitong 😭 These voices really give off such a different vibe from their real voices.... Joseph being dubbed by the Ao Ruipeng VA I'm used to (Moonlight Mystique, Coroner's Diary) and then we got Li Yitong being dubbed by that VA I'm used to for Zhou Ye (Word of Honor, Back from the Brink, Legend of the Female General)??? This is so unfortunate! Nonetheless, I'm still looking forward to it!

I'm just hoping our Tian Jiarui isn't dubbed plz I NEVER WANT HIM DUBBED! He's already gotten so used to dubbing his own dramas from his previous works so I'm hoping they made him do it for this one (first non-GJM work of his)!!!! I also really loved Riley Wang's real voice in ADWAD (he really gives off his own vibe that I would hope his real???)... hoping Dai Luwa uses her real voice or the one used in MM (as I am surprised how very similar that VA sounds to her). Honestly tho, just don't dub the actors atp if they can do it themselves but ofc they will do that... 😫😞

Oh and trust me, you'll wish you never said that XDDD!!! They'll be crying a lot 2nd half of the drama like I guess in every episode, so prepare for that! And oh, when talking about him wanting to die, it's gonna get serious later on, you'll know what I mean once you get to it 😭 There WILL be a lot of crying ksdjkshfkj (I ain't gonna spoil you if you happens tho bc it was a vow... are they gonna fulfill it or not? Just watch till the end. THAT is if you haven't spoiled yourself haha)

When you say you "like" I bet it will change to "love" as you get to the more serious and sad and emotional parts between the two lol. You'll prob never stop getting over them and it'll prob be hard to let go like many of us haha, when it was airing we all thought it felt like a BL. My timeline was all over about it with these two and it'll be an unfogettable memory in my heart. We were all just blushing and fangirling hard hahaha mark my words, you will probably too. I'm so excited for you to get to those parts 🥹

Also, even if the drama may not be your taste so far, I'd love to recommend you to at least give the OSTs a listen because it's the most beautiful OST of a drama I've ever listened to EVER and this is not me exaggerating just bc I am so obsessed with the drama (#1 with 'The Untamed'). It's has like this magical and euphorical yet may be somewhat emotional/sentimental feeling esp after you watch the drama. Listening to it makes me reminisce about all the characters, making me miss them more, but love them more as each song really resonates with each one. Each song just has its own uniqueness which really goes so well with the drama. Each one feels like it really belongs to FoF alone. Like I can't imagine these OSTs in other dramas bc it just has that FoF feel to them if yk what I mean. It was a drama OST I could never get over for MONTHS and I never usually do this for a drama like EVER. That's just how good they were. All the main supporting cast sing their own OST (Pei Siblings singing duo together) and they also have a group song together where they dance (ending credits) which is nice bc we get to watch it after all the sad moments are happening to at least take a breather from all that crying... all the songs are so good. I've seen several people who was not into the drama much but said the OSTs were so beautiful. Idk if you use Spotify, but here is a link to them if you'd like :)

Makes sense. I remember having really high expectations for this drama and I loved the cinematography, but I also felt the same way as you in the beginning. I didn't know what the plot was at all or where it was going, I also thought the comedy was a bit weird but as I watched it more and more, I started to fall in love with it. I think it started mostly in Ep.15 (when I started to get obsessed with it). But then I got sooo obsessed with it as more and more episodes came that I hated waiting for episodes everyday. We were all struggling bc there was even a week where they only released 1 episode a day... which is where all the strong bromance happens between these two... it was hard but it was worth it haha. The beginning may start off a bit weird but maybe the 2nd half will change your mind. The vibe changes a lot. After going through all those sad moments and missing the drama a lot, I went back to rewatch the drama all over again and omg, I loved the first half way more than I did the first time I watched. I caught so many more BL moments between the two (which it might not show that explicity but there are hints of it... example: yuanzhou looking at yichen's lips when yichen said, "do what you're good at" 🤭). Yeah, it may start off slow first, but then it starts to build up later and more serious things start to happen. I think the beginning may just be like giving us a start with the friendships and relationships of the drama before all the heavy stuff comes so yeah. Many things may not make sense at first, but as you watch it more and more, it will make a lot more sense. And I think it may also have to do with the personalities of each character which can turn smth that makes no sense to smth that makes sense. At least that's how I felt when rewatching it. Everything felt more natural to me than forced later in the series as I started to understand and get to know them more. Anyways, I will say the acting is really really good in this drama. Rare to find good chemistry like this (esp between 2 MLs). In the end, the expectations I had with this drama vs to how much I enjoyed it was this... it was smth I did not expect to enjoy THIS MUCH to the point that I got so OBSESSED with it like no words can even explain how obsessed I was with it, waiting each episode a day for new episodes... the experience I had with this, and being only the 2nd Cdrama I watched while airing... was AN EXPERIENCE. The drama definitely exceeded my expectations than what I had originally before the drama aired. It's a drama that stuck to me for months and still today, if I focus on it again, I just know I'll obsess over it again that I wish there was a S2 for this... I try to focus on other dramas so that I stop thinking about this 24/7 but I'll still come back here from time to time haha... it's definitely not easy to move on from it.

That was the grossest and most awkward thing ever. I hate him even more now. He made our Xueyu feel so terrible and suffer inside 😭😭😭 ughhhh, why did I have to see that... what happened to the xiao brothers when their parents are such good ppl, pathetic.... qiushui and xueyu are the only good children of them now 🫩🙄

Highly doubt it's him. That would be too much for me. Plus he was worried smth was gonna happen to Qiushui since he also fell into a trap himself. Why would he want Qiushui dead/hurt right? After waking up from this trap, he can't be acting since no one is watching him there. His true reaction and first thought to be getting caught was being worried about Qiushui! The mastermind can't be that dumb to fall into this trap too, right? Especially since he has done so much succeeding before. Btw I only left off in the scene where Qiushui was about to face Yuhan's father so I'm a lil behind but I will check the mastermind's facial features again (eyes and lips). I have my bets on Tang Song. He was also freed from jail and they didn't show him after that so it is possible he could be scheming behind the scenes
