Of course thats how the episode ends 😠Taeseok needs a character study how do you attempt to kill someone but…
I'm going to zone in on the potential birth secret because what kind of twist lmaoooo
Maybe it was because of the situation (which I don't blame them, everyone is emotional) but it didn't raise a red flag that they were both B negative, a rare blood type? Also, the nurse told the Mihyang that Rh+ blood can't go to an Rh- patient. When she said that I knew I immediately had to crack open my pathology textbook hehe
I know I'm going down a slippery slope here by applying real-world knowledge to a k-drama but Rh negative blood is uncommon in S. Korea, like only 0.3-0.5% of the population have it. Only 10% of the world's have type B blood (which is actually the rarest blood type!) so this is more than just a coincidence. But of course after rewatching the scene, my scientific explanation doesn't mean much lol - Hyera's expression when she questioned Jeongwon's blood type said the quiet part out loud.
So if Jeongwon is Taeseok's daughter, this means Sehoon can't be his son due to Korea's broadcast standards regarding sibling-sibling relationships. But you know, compare the way Taeseok interacts with Semi vs how he interacts with Sehoon. I think Taeseok may subconsciously (or even consciously) know that Sehoon isn't his son... I wonder who is father is...
My only guess is Kibeom but the only way this would work is if there was a mixup at the hospital or something. Not even like Taeseok ordered it but like the nurses might have accidentally swapped the babies name tags or something ... This theory may have holes in it, especially when you take in account Sehoon's mother and whatever her role in this is.
I guess we'll find out over the next 6 weeks... 👀 Whatever happens, Taeseok better not go soft on us lol
So ppl still bored? we not entertained? 😂 I’m confused , didn’t jeong won have the press conference and…
I agree tbh. If this becomes Hyera's revenge (or more like she's learning actions have consequences...) I probably won't drop since we're at ep 69 but my enthusiasm will wane. Not sure who else would get revenge on Taeseok... Hyera is all over the place, Haneul is too passive and Youngchae? Don't make me laugh 😠I think she'll give the video to Jeongwon eventually too... Despite what she said I think she was clearly bothered by Jeongwon dying...
I guess Sehoon will eventually be revealed to not be the son of the chairman... since like you said, Jeongwon and Sehoon got intimate with each other. But then who's son is Sehoon? Kibeom's? (I don't put a baby switch past Taeseok ðŸ˜) How would Sehoon's mom even fit into this?
Taeseok needs a character study how do you attempt to kill someone but then posture yourself as the hero by donating blood? Lmaooo this man is crazy. You got her admitted into critical care but donated blood because you must look good at all times?
Jeongwon's injuries are actually very serious... You know I was 👀 at the next episode preview, trying to figure out if she pulls through or not. I really hope that the nurses were swarming her because it was a Code Blue/Rapid Response and not because Taeseok does something shady.
Also it's very interesting that both Jeongwon and Taeseok have the same rare blood type.
So do we think Jeongwon survived?
Story can go in a few directions from here: - Jeongwon dies and Hyera becomes the revenge incarnate. Haneul and Mihyang will probably be her allies (Mihyang, begrudgingly) - Jeongwon lives and Minjeong does some ~chaebol secretary magic~ to get her out of there under Hyera's order. Fly her to the US where she can recover, and she comes back and works with Hyera? She can give Jeongwon a new identity and give Jeongwon that "power" she needs to take on The Big Dogs. Provided Jeongwon actually remembers Taeseok's confession, this will probably lead to some mother-daughter healing. - the same as above but it's Haneul who sneaks her out. He has the funds to do so... - Jeongwon lives but has brain damage? Honestly my least favorite option I feel like that would throw the entire story off even though that would absolutely give Hyera a motive for revenge
If Jeongwon dies that would completely subvert the makjang drama playbook which would be ... interesting. Hyera…
I think Miss M was the last time I saw that trope too… wait no elegant empire from 2023 is the most recent example I can think of. It’s so fun lol
Hyera becoming the main could be fun but only if she stops playing both sides. But I guess getting your daughter killed by the man who you abandoned her for would do that (and it’s kind of the ultimate punishment) but hyera had said that Jeongwon would need to become more powerful to take the big bads on, maybe she’ll do that with a fake identity? If so, I expect Jeongwon to go totally ruthless lol, she already has that fire about her which is why I’m SEATED
you know things are getting serious when a press conference is called - that was the highlight of today's episode (besides manager gu mean mugging sehoon lol) which felt kind of boring.
But the preview? Taeseok and Jeongwon are going to end up on the roof and he's strangling her, while Hyera and Minjeong run around looking panicked.
We have 33 episodes left - isn't it a bit too early to crash out and try to kill off the main character? Apparently Taeseok doesn't think so.
I've been bamboozled by so many previews I feel like that choking scene was probably someone (Taeseok) fantasizing about killing Jeongwon. Or maybe Hyera will run behind him and realize that her current method of playing both sides is not feasible? OR.... I'm actually wrong and Taeseok succeeds..?! Find out on the next exciting episode of dragon ball z....
btw the guy who plays Taeseok is an excellent actor. He was one of my favorite characters in Cinderella Game (Richard was pretty much the antithesis of Taeseok tbh) but I can't stand him here. Jin Taeseok has more faces than a house of mirrors ðŸ˜
I kinda wanna see what happens if JW were to die or nearly die/have a faked death. Will she come back even more…
If Jeongwon dies that would completely subvert the makjang drama playbook which would be ... interesting. Hyera would become the main character? Haneul would definitely go completely dark lol
I hope she fakes her death and somehow gets a new identity. It's been a while since I've seen a daily with that trope (it's one of my faves lol)
Idk why I randomly thought of ep 67's preview but Youngchae DEMANDING that she works from home is proof of her entitlement lol for starters working from home is usually a privilege that you have to "earn". Not something you demand... especially after causing harm to the organization.
Also as someone who works from home I would imagine the design process is actually better in person since you'll have immediate access to feedback and it's more collaborative. (unlike my job which is largely solitary) But we all know the only thing Youngchae is designing these days is schemes ...
Suspended, but still have to show up for work and sit in the staff room. WTF! She should have been fired, regardless…
100,000%!!! This is just the writer trying to keep Youngchae in the story at whatever cost (when she should've just gotten fired) There actually was a case of a kpop idol turned actress who got caught plagiarizing designs (Yoon Eunhye I believe) and she had to go on hiatus for a while. It was a major scandal and she wasn't even a designer by trade.
I thought Hyera's speech to Jina about the integrity of a designer was actually really well written and captured the severity of this offense. Too bad the screenwriter completely missed the mark on what would've been a satisfying moment...
Hey now hey now Tia isn't a B, I won't address the rest of your assumptions about her because I don't engage in that kind of behavior. But anyway. She's not exactly wrong that not all FLs aren't going to be sweet and naive. Character development is also an important part of storytelling. Highly recommend you research "static characters" vs "dynamic characters". I like to write stories in my free time so I am knowledgeable about this kind of stuff...
Character development is also how we get the bright personality FLs morphing into revenge incarnates when the time is right. Jerky MLs who turn out to actually have hearts of gold. Bad guys remorseful. Character development DRIVES the story!! Idk about you but could you imagine watching 120 episodes of a drama where the main characters don't learn anything or change at all? Because ngl there's no way I can stomach Jangmi as she is right now for 120 episodes. I'd go crazy lmfao
I hope you end up enjoying the drama whenever you decide to jump back in. I'll wait until Friday's ep to decide ... I figure I'll jump back in after the Olympics end if I do...
ngl hoping Sukhee is our token makjang casualty, she's soooo obnoxious. you can write brain damaged characters without making them super annoying. Sucks that Jangmis family scenes are centered around her... we get it, she has brain damage.
I like Lee Jiyeon in this role (Baekho and Junho's mother) probably the least annoying character I've seen her play lol. And of course, Jungchan will always be one of my faves lol
Not to mention Mr. Cold City Man Junho! Yes I will call him that for the rest of the drama 😠I love his swagger.
Seorin is my favorite of the twins .... shocker ! Jangmi is way too typical of an FL for me to care and I don't care about guitargate'25. I'll finish catching up tomorrow as it's time to go out ... happy new year to everyone
Hwayoung 's storyline is carrying this drama on its back btw...
Seo Hyunjoo is who your beef is with... I can't believe I'm saying this but actors just act out the script. That's it. They literally get paid to ACT. They don't write the scripts nor do they have any creative input ... that would be the director. Screenwriter writes the script/the story. Director translates it for the screen. Actors follow the directions of Screenwriter and Director.
Back to Seo Hyunjoo.
This is the 5th drama I've watched that's written by her and this is how ALL her MLs and FLs meet each other. Then they bond and chemistry forms as the FL gets wronged by whoever the villain is.... The ML will then walk side by side with her ...
Personally I can't stand it so I fast forward through it. MOST dailies will have the ML and FL be jerks to each other at the very beginning while the villains are villaining but Seo Hyunjoo REALLY likes to lay it on thick. I find it more obnoxious than anything else.
I would advise you to come back around episode 30~35, by that point the FL and ML will be nicer towards each other as the plot will be in full swing. SHJ is a BIG fan of the enemies to lovers trope (which is popular with a lot of people but I'm not a fan of how she writes it)
Was not expecting Jeongwon to pull a fast one and outsmart Youngchae/Nansook. The fact that Youngchae still has…
Nansook threw a match to an oil field with that article and Jeongwon thinks Hyera caused the explosion , oh boy ! You know it's bad when your Resident Nansook Shooter is cringing because that move is so FOUL... kibeom was A LOT of things and he's not my favorite character by any means BUT it's disrespectful to do that to a dead man. Taeseok was right when he said that "things are about to get interesting", they sure are!
The fake headlines juxtaposed over the happy flashbacks of the family was brilliant I actually liked that. Y'know for a daily, this drama is actually pretty experimental with the camera work. Like it's nothing crazy but compared to other daily dramas this one has great cinematography. The scene where Hyera told Jeongwon not to forgive her was another great example... Glad KBS is investing in their dailies hopefully this trend continues in the new year .
Seems like the first episode of 2026 will feature Youngchae potentially getting exposed and Semi turning into a villain. Not to mention the fallout from the article...
Was not expecting Jeongwon to pull a fast one and outsmart Youngchae/Nansook. The fact that Youngchae still has to show up to work while suspended is interesting... since usually suspension= you stay home.
Forced resignation would've been the correct consequence but Youngchae got that plot armor lol
Haneul is way too upright for this drama lmao he really sticks out like a sore thumb. The male secretary (Mihyang's love interest) was absolutely right when he said if he wasn't for Haneul no one would've come clean...
Sunghee (Jeongwon's friend from the department store) annoys me for some reason, but not to the point of taking me out the drama. I acually like Jina working with Jeongwon, hopefully it sticks but we're at the point where everyone is playing chess and the board is Kunhyang...
I have unmasked the woman in the veil because I have finished this drama!Just as expected, my opinion did not…
You got me thinking... I hope in 2026 we get a daily where Lee Chaeyoung is playing a villain FL 😠like I think that would be so fun to watch
I honestly think this drama + the two sisters especially the two sisters was the wake up call for KBS dailies to step their game up. Woman in a Veil walked so The Two Sisters could run (directly into the KBS quality control department, that is ðŸ˜)
