Give me a break! Gigolo Park’s head must be made of eggshells. Yeong-Chae hit his head with the wine bottle…
I was surprised that sehoons mother was alive too. I totally thought she was dead from an illness but I guess not. She's in a coma so you know she's full of secrets. I am expecting for her to wake up and spill the tea at some point.
You can be in a coma for a long time as long as someone is willing to pay for the life support. Although because this is a kdrama, I expect her to make a full recovery when she does wake up (which is absolutely unrealistic after a 25 year coma lol)
I also think something is going to happen to Kibeom... and that will be the spark that lights the firecracker of revenge. I can see it now, evil CEO kills Kibeom out of jealousy and Mihyang thinks Hyera was behind it. She reveals the truth to Jeongwon, and the revenge begins... If Kibeom does die, his death will probably be way more impactful than Kyeongshin's I suppose. For starters, Kibeom is more likeable....
I'm totally looking forward to Youngchae inevitably breaking out of the mental facility in like 50-60 episodes from now to get her revenge on Jeongwon. Hell hath no fury like a lead character getting locked up in a mental hospital... just ask Kang Jaein lol. Anyway I have a theory she's going to eventually team up with Hyera once Jeongwon starts coming after Hyera. That may be far fetched but I DO think Youngchae being Jeongwon will eventually bite the real Jeongwon in the ass some way...
But until then...
Youngchae definitely killed the model out of self defense. If she didn't bring out the wine glass there's a 95% chance that she would've died. So this feels a little different than your usual makjang death because if not for the fact there were no CCTVs, this would be a pretty clear case of self defense. Like I would've probably done the same thing - it's survival instinct. Regardless, saying you don't want to hurt someone while strangling them to death is psychotic behavior. While I'm glad this guy is now out the story, the guy playing Kyeongshin (?) needs to be casted in a darker work because I FELT the intensity lol
Seems like we're getting closer to the wedding and the mother/daughter reveal. Maybe by episode 25? Or is that too early? The preview for episode 24 seems like "the quiet before the storm"... although I'm interested to see Kibeom confront Jeongwon over her Ripley syndrome. Poor man is just trying to live quietly lol
Btw I thought the shaman/chef character was funny at first but I'm starting to question his intentions... his insistence that Youngchae be locked up in a mental hospital vs being sent abroad... I won't be surprised if he eventually gets outed as a scammer like the one in Queen's House did
When / how did you learn that Ha Neul was adopted? I thought that his dad brought him in fron first marriage but…
The most recent example I can think of is when Youngchae confronts Hyera and tells her "my brother [Haneul] and I don't share a drop of blood" as a way to prove that she's the real Joo Younghae and Nansook has alluded to it a few times especially in the beginning when Haneul first comes back from abroad.
the man Kibeom was accused of killing was Haneul's bio dad - there was a flashback where a child Haneul visits Kibeom in jail and lashes out at him for a minute. It was said that Haneul begged Nansook to let him visit Kibeom in prison so she was in his life at that point
Youngchae's bio dad is dead (since Nansook claimed to have drowned him) At some point Nansook married Haneul's bio dad and Youngchae and Haneul became step siblings and Nansook became his step mom. Both Youngchae and Haneul have the same surname (Joo) but I think they just changed Youngchae's surname so they could look like one family [Korean women usually keep their last names even after marriage hence why Nansook is a Gong]
According to namuwiki, Haneul's bio dads name is Joo Sangcheol. His relation to Haneul is described as 친아버지 [biological father]. On Youngchae's page his relation to her is listed as 양아버지 [step-father]. There isn't anything about her father yet except his surname is Shin...
So... Haneul was adopted not in the "orphan from an orphanage" sense but rather because his bio dad got murdered so Nansook stepped up as his guardian as opposed to abandoning him
Giving this another shot because the screenwriter went on to write Suji & Uri, which I enjoyed. (I literally only dropped it because I got busy with school lol)
First of all SBS did the actors dirty with their cameras. I've never watched a drama before where I can get 8K views of the actors skin pores you can literally see the concealer on some of the actors as well... but now that we've gotten past that...
I know Yuna is supposed to be the villain but I actually relate to her??? 🥴 Jaekyung was wrong for giving money to Yuna's estranged mother and selling their house to give her money (which she gambled away).. Jaekyung probably doesn't realize but you don't enable an addiction!! That is the LAST thing you do if you want to help someone!
I also found found it wild that he was willing to send Yuna's mother money but leave Yuna to fend for herself as she studied in a foreign country. It was NYC but I know from my international student friends that the part time jobs one can get on a student visa are usually harsh and under the table... yeah I'd be pissed too.
He also prioritizes everyone else over her. Haneul, being their son is the only one where this makes sense but come on, the neighbors? Your wife is clearly uncomfortable with them (especially since one of them likes to make "jokes" about how she ruined her husband's career) but instead of supporting your wife when she leaves the scene you try to guilt trip her into going back up?
I'm not going to say he deserves to be cheated on but he's not a saint and I hope he treats Yeonhee better whenever they meet because Junho isn't shit. But like... if you prioritize everyone but your partner in a relationship, no shit, it's going to fail lol
Speaking of Yeonhee, she's your typical "poor FL who marries into a wealthy chaebol family" even down to being disrespected by her in-laws. There's nothing I have to say about her character right now - except Choi Jungyoon looked GREAT in the wedding dress when Yeonhee and Junho renewed their vows. Oh and her secretly going to noraebang to relieve stress is a big mood because same (although I live in the US, so my "noraebang" is my living room when I'm home alone lol)
Seo Woo is really dumb btw. I'm already aware of how her loveline ends (thanks namuwiki) but "dating" a guy for 10+ years and being okay with the fact that he hasn't kissed you once is CRAZY WORK... like you aren't going to question that? But like mother like daughter I guess, because it was established that Yeonhee never had a wedding.... nor in a 25 year relationship did Junho do the bare minimum of buying Yeonhee flowers...
Between chuseok and getting sick the week after I am FINALLY caught up on this...
The story scenario is wild to me because all Youngchae would have to do to prove herself is pull out a DNA test or a national ID. (I know this is a kdrama and logic doesn't apply here lol) But I do like how every character is either evil or morally gray. Crazy enough (because I usually end up liking the 2FLs the most) Haneul is actually my favorite character of the mains. I want to know more about his family....Since he was adopted.
I am also liking Han Ki Woong here too - his character is way better written than his character in woman in a veil (do not recommend btw lmao) Gong Nansook is clearly problematic but she's a fun villain ngl. I'm currently also watching Secret House and Brave Yong Sujeong where Lee Seungyeon also plays the evil mother type of character but her portrayal of Gong Nansook is way better. She reminds me of the theatrical chaebol villains like Chihwan from Meant to Be or the original Giyun from Elegant Empire. Especially Giyun! 💀
Words cannot describe to me how happy I am that Jeongwon isn't the typical "bright personality" type of lead. Shit there are no "bright personalities" in this show period (Semi for the time being, but I see her turning antagonistic towards Jeongwon in the future - the foreshadowing has begun) I am also surprised that Youngchae came back - I originally speculated that the original Youngchae would die and that was how Jeongwon became her but this is more interesting ... and ngl i kinda side with Youngchae in the sense that I get why she's pissed someone stole her life. But this plot just feels like a way to stretch the airtime out... Do you seriously think Gong Nansook, the "wolf of wall street" is going to let Youngchae ruin the scheme of the century 😭? So I say that to say that this plot is entertaining but i am MUCH more curious to see this mother daughter revenge play out. How will it get revealed that Jeongwon is the real Sua? The description makes it seem as though Jeongwon will find out before Hyera does... and I feel like we will be getting that reveal sooner than later. The pacing for this drama is good.
Kunhyang better be a fortune 500 company for all the lies being told to acquire it 🤣 With the model getting killed (which I'm glad about. And I hope Jeongwon's ex gets taken out soon because this storyline is starting to drag) things are only going to get crazier. Game of Witches had a very high body count for a daily drama and I feel like someone who is actually related to the main characters will die next. Jeongwon's dad? It would surely spearhead Jeongwon's revenge on Hyera. Especially since Mihyang has proven that she's pretty much Jeongwon's ride or die with this whole scheme lol
https://m.newsen.com/news_view.php?uid=202510220902551910&r=14 leads character info(Female protag, both male…
Here's what I got:
Yoon Seonwoo plays Kang Baekho, who is described as a "warm" lawyer. He meets Oh Jang-mi and falls in love with her. Park Geon-il plays Kang Jun-ho, a "prickly" chef, who also gets involved with Oh Jang-mi. They are brothers and are our male leads.
Kim Minseol is playing Jin Hongjoo, the female antagonist who works at the conglomerate and is described as "ambitious". She also has feelings for Kang Baekho so I'm expecting a rivalry with Jang-mi there...
I joked about coming up with a daily script with separated twins and revenge... these shows really all do sound…
Thank you for recommending good for you! As you know I am currently watching wife returns (Yookyung is THAT FL) and the promise is absolutely legendary!
You can be in a coma for a long time as long as someone is willing to pay for the life support. Although because this is a kdrama, I expect her to make a full recovery when she does wake up (which is absolutely unrealistic after a 25 year coma lol)

Funny enough I just saved Live Your Own Life to my kocowa account yesterday!

Love my dual twin roles in dramas 😭
I'm starting the webtoon tonight!
