First episode:

My theory about who the "First Man" is seems to be right the first man -> Ma Dongseok, the first love of the FLs mother(s)

Idk why but I don't think Dongseok is dead. I won't believe it until we see a body. Not a funeral scene, but a BODY. I'm too genre savvy not to take "we can't find the body" at face value... watch Ma Dongseok turn up alive in like episode 80 or something.

This love triangle between Sukhee, Hwayoung and Dongseok ... ngl I understand Sukhee being upset over the tabloid BUT .... if Dongseok and her had such a healthy relationship, why didn't Sukhee ask him about it instead of going ghost with the twins lol. Unless there's a history of Dongseok being a serial cheater (which I doubt).

Hwayoung is evil but I like her better than Sukhee, at least Hwayoung confronted Dongseok directly. Sukhee comes off as a different type of manipulative... I don't understand why she immediately went to the nuclear option of running away off ~vibes~ when she could've just gotten to the bottom of this with one (1) conversation. but she's going to get knocked upside the head sooner vs later so I guess it won't matter lol. Alternatively... I'm surprised Dongseok didn't use his chaebol $$$$ to try to find Sukhee on his own. Maybe the relationship wasn't as good as we thought? That would be a nice subversion

I do find it darkly ironic that if Hwayoung didn't follow Sookhee she wouldn't have lost her baby/meal ticket and probably would've achieved what she wanted but that's usually how it goes in these dailies "you should've just sat there and ate your food".

Tbh I don't really care for the exposition (never have) and the premise, outside of Hwayoung's motive, makes no sense (ok I know this is a daily but even dailies have standards) but I'm putting up with it until we get to the main story because I love Oh Hyunkyung as a villain. It seems like Seo Hyunjoo just needed a reason, ANY reason to fracture the Ma family so I'll let it go.... for now

I'm not going to say "strong first episode" but I'll say it's decent. Looking forward to the next time jump...

My theory is the First Man is either one of the MLs OR.... the father of Jangmi/Seorin. He was the first love of Hwayoung but he chose the twins mother... leading to the twin switch and Hwayoung entering the Ma family...

I've noticed that first loves are a common theme in the character summaries and correlation chart. So maybe it's a story about what happens when unrequited first love goes terribly terribly wrong lol

Soonboon trashing the Jang household in episode 26? Most valid crash out ever. I love her relationship with Yeonhee so much!

Haneul being the son of the secretary is a twist I DID NOT SEE COMING ... Man... Namuwiki said that Kang Yuna is the "most evil villainous character of a SBS morning daily drama" and they weren't wrong. Yuna is diabolical for this - this is going to suck when Jaekyung learns Haneul isn't his. However, things are going to get nuclear when Junho and the rest of the Jangs find out the truth...

Speaking of - it's disgusting watching Yuna brag about Haneul like she's an involved parent to the Jangs when it actuality she very easily gave him up come divorce time. Using your own son to social climb (and presumably ripping him from the one parent who clearly loves him) is nasty work. But I love to see it.

On a similar note, it's also weird how Junho immediately starts neglecting Seo Woo as soon as he learns he had a son. Yuna and Junho are fit for each other!

When K-actors do the "drunk" scenes I wonder if they actually get drunk...? It wouldn't surprise me but I say that because Choi Jungyoon's portrayal of someone plastered is probably the most realistic one I've seen in a daily drama 😭

Re: the neighbors. They both suck but I really can't stand the male one. "Why do you need a king sized bed when you're a divorced single mom?" (I would argue a single parent deserves it because they're filling the role of two parents?) Like I would've belted him in the face. And now he's in love with her? lmao yeah that's how you talk to someone you like 💀 it only took 23 episodes but I'm officially skipping all their scenes now..

I'm not sure if I believe that Haneul is Junho's son. Yuna is definitely opportunistic enough to fake a DNA test... especially since it's been said to her that the one thing she has over Yeonhee is she gave birth to a son...

OK wow, Haneul may actually be Junho's son. but lying about paternity is a common plot device in affair dailies so I'm not holding my breath

I'm on the part of the drama where Yuna starts letting her bad behavior known to the Jangs and it's getting interesting. So far my favorite character is Hyejin! She means business and I love how she reacted when she found out about the affair.

Also: Yeonhee's illness is starting to get foreshadowed. I like how it's slowly being written in instead of just introducing it abruptly...

I'm starting to get annoyed by Jaekyung's neighbors. They don't add anything to the story (Wooju deserved to get hit by Haneul btw he was speaking very disrespectfully to his "friend") Think I'll probably end up skipping their scenes lol

Also not surprised by Yuna divorcing Jaekyung but Yeonhee holding out on Junho. Seems to be a common thing in these "the affair survivors end up together" healing dramas lol it happened in Desperate Ms. Seonju (where ironically, Choi Jungyoon played the "Yuna" lol

PS: the dad and Junhee are the only normal ones in the family I'm glad they are sticking up for Yeonhee!! I live for the scenes where they come for the mom (who is human trash btw) especially the dad!

Guns aren't a common weapon in daily dramas but that's how "Mysterious Personal Shopper" ended with the main villain crashing out and taking the 2 FLs hostage 💀

And I just remembered in Snow White's Revenge the FL's husband LOVED his rifle 😭 he was wielding that thing around like it was a toy

Haneul confronting Nansuk? I think this is the most emotion I've seen from him lol

At the beginning of the drama, back when there was potential for an actual revenge scheme, Stella gave that advice to Lucia, saying something to the effect of "in order to get revenge you need to hide all your bad feelings. It will feel like swallowing the sun"

Some interesting things here:
Junho aka Mr. "Cold City Man" is Seorin's first love. In one of the earlier articles he was said to fall in love with Jangmi. I sense "falling in love with the wrong twin" hijinks

Baekho (lawyer brother) is Jangmi's first love
Junho is friendly with Jangmi, so no bad blood here.

Choi Jiyeon is playing the Kang brothers mother ... She is a lawyer. (Interesting factoid here: Choi Jiyeon is usually the [obnoxious] mother of the antagonist in Seo Hyunjoo's dramas like in the 3rd marriage and 2nd husband so I hope she is playing a good role here just because it would be interesting to see... Also I really don't want to be annoyed by her character for once hahaha)

Oh Bokgil is Jangmi's "dad" who is played by Kim Haksun. I expect him to die because Seo Hyunjoo likes killing off the fathers of her FLs lmao

Hwayoung is Seorin's "mother". If you watch the teasers you'll know why that's in quotes lol. Hwayoung's first love, and the son of CEO Ma, is Ma Dongseok (Kim Youngpil). I'll bet that HIS first love was Jangmi/Seorin's mother which inevitably leads to conflict. Funny enough, Hwayoung is the first love of her secretary lmao. Hwayoung and the Kangs dad (Jung Chan's character) also seem to have beef with each other.

Now what's also interesting to me is that Hongju's mother Yeom Sanwol (?) ... is apparently the first love of CEO Ma? Hello? Does this means she has blood ties to the Ma family? 👀

Less than a week to go before we can see how this all comes together!

I watched all three of the teasers and the one that's subbed on KOCOWA.... and it seems like Hwayoung stole Seorin to get in with the Ma family. This adds an interesting layer no matter which twin is the lead ... I am so looking forward to Monday 😭

Now why did the writer decide to give Euijoo cancer???? I reached that plot twist shortly after my last comment and ngl, it PMO and I started watching other things on my list. Now I'm circling back to this as I won't drop because I'm way too invested (84 episodes in...) but damn I am NOT a fan of this twist 😭 I REALLY hope this doesn't end with him dying

I wanted to watch a bit more before replying but by far, Mija is the only reason I'm watching the show. It might be because I'm still early but Hanee is one of the most obnoxious main characters I've come across....

Unpopular opinion but I'm glad she's not the FL because I would've dropped this so fast. I literally fast forward through her scenes. Her personality is so bright I'm actually looking forward to Mija dimming it with her scheme...

That being said I like Yumi and Mija's brother lol

Also, Mija coming back for her "husband" is sending me. They technically didn't even divorce lol this is going to get so messy but in a fun way. Not to mention the fact that she is withholding the fact that she and Namgyu have another child? I can't wait until I get done with stats class so I can REALLY binge watch this during winter break 😭

My guess: considering how the two MLs and the 3rd FL (Hongju, I'm guessing she's the 3rd FL since Oh Hyunkyung has higher billing) have been linked to Jangmi in their profiles, with both brothers liking her and Hongju's jealousy, I think Seorin is going to pretend to be Jangmi and get revenge on her sister's behalf?

This is piquing my drama senses since there's little to no information with how Seorin relates to the rest of the main cast...

That scene where Hyera and Jeongwon were confronting each other after Jeongwon got the video was probably one of the best acted scenes I've seen in a daily. I also loved how they were physically far away from each other because it was metaphorical for their emotional distance.

I figured Kibeom was going to die by falling but I am pleased with how this is playing out. The fact that everyone thinks Hyera did it will make for an interesting narrative. Jeongwon and Mihyang's reactions to his death got me especially Mihyang's. Their revenge era is about to start. I also loved it when Jeongwon referred to Mihyang as Mom in front of Hyera. There's no debate here that Mihyang deserves that title more than Hyera...

I don't think the screenwriter knows what to do with Youngchae's character right now. I hope that the "steal Sehoon" plan fails quickly because that doesn't sound appealing at all. I would much rather watch the fallout from Kibeom's death.

I agree with your opinions on Hyera... Nansook not taking Hyera seriously when Hyera ran up on her said it all. "Delicate flower who pretends to know business" even though Nansook and Taeseok are the "evil" ones I feel Hyera is much more insidious because she doesn't own up to the fact that she does bad things... Even when she did talk to Jeongwon it felt more manipulative than anything else.

These next few episodes will be interesting that's for sure.

was not expecting the drama to be paced like this... i didn't think jeongwon and youngchae would "go back to where they belong" until like, episode 75. but now that things are getting revealed, and we ARE reaching that halfway point, I guess the remaining half of the drama will be:

- kibeom is probably dying tomorrow. long overdue but the easiest way to shake up your story is to kill someone off. things were starting to slow down anyway so i am glad something is happening to further the plot... now HOW Kibeom dies? idk but the preview showed a power struggle between Hyera and Kibeom. I don't think Hyera would kill him, but I also don't think Taeseok/Nansuk are dumb enough to (try to) kill someone with witnesses around lol.

- speaking of, whatever happened to the kunhyang design team lol? the one that Semi put together that was Youngchae, Jina (who has all but disappeared in these last few eps), Jeongwon, and Jeongwon's friend from the department store. iirc Jeongwon was supposed to start working after the wedding. Maybe they'll have a bigger role in the second half?

- For those who watched Game of Witches, Jeongwon and Hyera's reunion felt like Hyesoo and Yukyung's. I also think the mother and daughter will probably team up to take down Team Taeseok and Nansuk. They will end up bonding over this and will have a better relationship by the drama's end?

- I don't think Youngchae is going to end up with Sehoon but I don't exactly see her being loyal to Nansuk to the end. However, Youngchae's fear of Nansuk is probably going to keep her by her side until like, episode 99 or something (if she does decide to change because youngchae not changing is totally possible too lol)

- I am not sure about what will happen with Sehoon but I will probably have a better idea after tomorrow's episode. Sehoon's character could go either way, good or evil. how he reacts to "youngchae" being jeongwon will make it slightly clearer...

- I am not sure if Haneul and Jeongwon are endgame (I don't even know if I want them to be endgame lol) but I can see a love triangle between Jeongwon, Semi and Haneul. I hope Haneul takes more of an active role in the story in the second half. In the words of Ms. Frizzle, I NEED Haneul to take chances, make mistakes and get messy!

- That being said idk why but I don't expect both MLs to be alive by end of the drama...

- Speaking of messiness, more exploration about what happened with the accident. At first, I thought that Taeseok ordered the accident that put Hyera in the hospital, but ... after yesterday's ep, i'm not so sure. Whatever went down affected Hyera psychologically, but now i really wonder, did the secretary (who was Hyera's friend back when she was Youngsun) put that accident together on Hyera's order? The truth about this is very murky...

- More info on Sehoon's mom is needed. IMO her story is the biggest mystery of the drama so far, and outside of Sehoon "introducing" her to Jeongwon, we haven't seen much. However, it's been hinted that Hyera and Sehoon's mother had a relationship... or at least Hyera was threatened by her presence in her quest to become the Kunhyang matriarch.

- On a similar note, finding out what happened with Haneul and Youngchae's bio dads. Did Nansuk really drown Youngchae's dad? Who really killed Haneul's dad?

I'm probably forgetting some things but there's a lot that could happen ... there's a lot of potential for a strong second half. Hopefully the screenwriter doesn't fumble the bag here... I may not comment daily but I am still enjoying this drama.

Unrelated but Nansuk has some of the best lines I've seen in a daily lol. I found it funny when in yesterday's episode, Taeseok was debating killing off Kibeom and Nansuk asked him if this was amateur hour lmao

To me, Haneul seems like he is stuck between two sides - should he remain true to his values and stay "good" or give into his love for Jeongwon and join the dark side? This is also one of the least interesting parts of the drama. Like idk why he would ask Nansuk to invest in his AI business (to get power to take on Kunhyang) just to tell Jeongwon to step back...

I have to say that Semi doesn't feel antagonistic? Or at least, I don't see her being antagonistic. (But with this writer, you never know lol)

I also appreciate how Jeongwon is not letting Sehun or Haneul talk her out of her revenge. I hope she never backs down (although now that she revealed herself as Sua, who knows what will happen here? I thought she wouldn't admit that to Hyera until like, episode 75 lol)
