😂 I have always wondered about the whole YouTube comments thing too... after watching a few episodes of the…
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I felt like I was in a parallel universe and nobody could see any of the faults. I didn't want the comments filled with anything mean, but genuine criticism helps both the viewer and the people involved with making it.
I can't say I was expecting much from this, but I was hopeful it would be someway decent. Sadly, it was not. By episode 3 or 4, the hidden agenda was well and truly over and we then launched into about every tired scenario and trope imaginable. By the end I had completely forgotten that Zo had had any feelings whatsoever for Nita, and it made me seriously doubt if it was ever the case. I would have liked a twist where Zo was actually the one with the hidden agenda, who wanted to get close to Joke by pretending he had feelings for Nita, but that was perhaps a little too optimistic. It just seems the trend these days with these series is that the premise lasts a couple of episodes and the rest is fluff.
Anyway, in terms of performances, Joong is tolerable with definite glimmers of something special, but Dunk is bad. It only gets worse when he *tries* to act. Yes, he's a new actor, but at least let him get some experience before giving him a lead role. I think the greater scandal is that the supporting cast are all better actors than the leads, and yet had very little to work with or contribute. Jamie, Louis and AJ were totally wasted. I shouldn't heap all my scorn on the actors, because looking at the credits for the Director and Screenwriters explains so much.
Finally, does anyone think they delete any bad comments on YouTube, or is it completely populated by bots because I rarely if ever see any criticism? Even the most negative comment is still positive. Not wanting to take the enjoyment away from anyone or question the fact that people genuinely thought this was good, but it just seems fishy that the only thing you see makes it seem this was the best series ever made.
I really want to like this, but I just find it so uneven. You'll have some really dark and intense scene and the next minute it's some goofy scene with stupid music. I could deal with the humour if it wasn't so silly. Anyway, the overall storyline is intriguing, if a little confusing at times, but I'll stick with it because it's different and the cast is good.
Just watched episode 5 and it was probably my least favourite episode so far. The last 5 minutes or so were a standout and I felt Sand's pain, but a lot of it felt like treading water. I like the ongoing chemistry between Nick and Boston, but I almost hope for Nick to find someone better. I want to try and be constructive about Book and Force and suggest maybe they need to work in other pairings to build up their range, because they just don't light up the screen as it is. I thought Force was good in Enchanté and Book gave a decent performance in ABAAB, but in this I find myself drifting off during their scenes. It could be because they have the most conventional relationship (on the surface) whereas the other couples have more tangled love lives or maybe there's just no penetration.
Firstly, it's been bugging me all along, does anyone think the theme song sound like another show's theme song? I have no idea what series, but every time I hear it I feel like I'm watching something else.
Anyway, I'm only sticking with this because I've come this far. I really struggle to maintain interest in the Zo/Joke storyline, but my care factor for the Jeng/Pok is non existent. We only get glimpses of them and other than to fill in time, they seem unnecessary.
This series is so disappointing because I thought the hidden agenda would play a bigger part, but that was over and done with so early. Of the series I'm watching at the moment I can't decide which of the two couples out of Joong and Dunk or Book and Force should never be allowed to work together ever again.
The only couple I could not care less about is Top and Mew. This is the third series I've seen Frame and Book as a couple and they do absolutely nothing for me. Anyway, I am enjoying Sand and Ray and the development of their relationship. I think that Nick deserves better, but I guess Boston will see the error of his ways and they'll end up together. Or maybe Nick deserves what he gets.
Totally agree. Not only the contrived situations, but the seemingly endless tropes, stereotypes, and cliches.…
True. You would think every second student in Thailand is doing engineering or medicine based on these type of series. The most frustrating thing about this is that you occasionally get a thread that could have been expanded into a decent storyline, but instead we get all these cutesy scenes that contribute nothing. I'd be interested in the input of someone who has read the novel and whether or not the adaptation is worthy.
I'll be generous and say that 10% of each episode actually drives the story forward and the rest is nonsense. How many contrived situations can we get per episode? Also, I've tried to reserve my judgement of the acting, but it's not good. I'm this far in so I'll stick with it, but even for a lightweight series this has been disappointing.
I don't hate this, but it's just... bland. A whole episode goes by and I feel like very little has happened. My expectations for this weren't particularly high, but I thought they might persist with the titular hidden agenda a bit longer than they did. Instead of that it's fallen into the usual trap of dispensing with the premise and relying on sweet moments and filler. I know various pairings are popular so they continually cast them, but seriously I could just be watching SIMM 2 because it doesn't feel like the actors are playing terribly different characters. I almost don't know why they bothered with any secondary characters because they have been absolutely wasted. I was about to say that thankfully this is only 10 episodes, but just checked and saw that it's actually 12. 😭😭😭
This is an easy watch. You know exactly what is going to happen, but at least they are putting in some effort to develop the relationship between Joke and Zo in the meantime.
The only reason I watched this was because I saw it was one of the stories related to Our Skyy 2. I have no idea if it's absolutely necessary to watch this before watching that, but I suffered through all 12 episodes regardless.
If I push myself to find a positive, it is that Book puts in a better performance in this than he did in Enchanté. Now, that isn't really saying much, but it showed that his poor showing in Enchanté was either down to writing, direction or newbie acting or all three in some measure. I did find him a little cringe at times, but it was a world away from Theo, which can't be a bad thing.
I could write plenty about what I didn't like about this, but I'll try and keep things concise. The biggest problem for me, and many other series like it, is that we are given no reason whatsoever why this couple should be together other than the fact the story requires them to be. They meet and immediately seem to plan to devote the rest of their lives together by the end of the first or second episode. No build up, no tension, no will-they-won't-they, just straight into a romance of a lifetime. Without giving any time to building the relationship, it's impossible to really invest in it as a viewer because it is so superficial. Also, Book and Force don't have any of the chemistry required to make this farfetched idea even remotely believable.
My other issue was with Force. He completely carried Enchante, but in this he sleepwalked through. He was totally miscast for the role. If there was a drinking game where you had to take a shot every time he had his arms crossed or had a total lack of expression on his face I'd be dead by now. I know when they make these series they have their preferred couples, but so often they don't really fit the role required, but that doesn't seem to bother them. Other than the time he cracked it at Cher over the email, I never once thought he was the CEO deserving of the devil horned avatar.
The biggest failing of this series to me was the lack of overall substance. The Gun/Cher storyline had very little to it and the secondary storylines were paper thin and many didn't seem to go anywhere. You have 12 episodes and still can't resolve everything? Also, I feel bad for Mike, Fluke and Drake as they deserve much better than what they got.
And if there was ever an award for overuse of a soundtrack, this would probably win easily. That ding ding ding ding ding ding music every other scene was irritating AF.
I have mixed feelings about this one. The first half I was definitely on board with, but it fell a little flat…
The part I really didn't like was how Nueng's mother told Palm to bugger off at the end, and then tells Nueng to track him down when she sees that he is miserable. What was she expecting? Also, that kid took a bullet for your son you dumb bitch. Maybe Palm's mother should have been the one to survive instead.
I have mixed feelings about this one. The first half I was definitely on board with, but it fell a little flat after that. The storyline was generally good and didn't drag too much. The obligatory beach episodes did bore me a little, but that's what the obligatory beach episodes tend to do to me. I liked the signs of affection shown between Pond and Phuwin, which is sometimes lacking in other series. And it was great seeing Perth again and hopefully he gets more roles, especially main ones.
I'm glad I finally got around to seeing this because I enjoyed the series a lot. Part of me wishes I'd watched the series again before watching this, but it does manage to stand on its own quite well. There is definitely a more serious tone with the realities of a developing relationship, which can feel a little sombre at times, but we do get a happy ending, so I can't complain too much. I'm glad that Tsuge and Minato made an appearance, because Tsuge was probably my favourite character from the series, but I just don't feel like they did much with the characters which was a shame. Overall, I'm not too disappointed, but it was missing some of the *magic* from the series.
Agree about the animals. In my view the story suffered because way too much time was spent on Heart and LiMing's…
Seeing this was likely written with Earth and Mix in mind, it was a weird choice to make Jim almost 40. I agree with you they needed an older actor or make the character younger. Wasn't his character in ATOTS older too?
This is the first Thai series I've watched all year after several years of almost constantly watching them. When I saw the original trailer I was looking forward to this and so thought this would be a good reintroduction.
No problems with the acting, although some of the characters felt a little underdeveloped and under-utilised . Visually it was well done and made the most of the scenery and setting.
My biggest issue was that it was so damn slow. I don't mind a series with a slow-paced story, but this just felt like it dragged. There seemed to be too many storylines going on that weren't fully developed, so I just felt like there was a lot of filler and unrealised potential.
I usually enjoy seeing Mix and Earth together, but there didn't appear to be the same spark that I've seen with them before which is a shame.
since this drama mostly did a great job fleshing out the characters and presenting a realistic romance, i choose…
That *relationship* made me uncomfortable. Her turning up at the beach with the boys was... not good. I could understand if they'd made her a mentor, but there was some weird vibes going on for sure.

Not terrible, but not amazing either.
