I don't know why but maybe part of me thought the final episode might make up for my general lack of enjoyment of this series, but who am I kidding. I subjected myself to watching the final episode without skimming, which took every fibre of my being to achieve, but what massive waste of time with so much filler and very little else. Really the story finished, or should have finished, two episodes ago, but there seems to be this trend where a series runs dry a couple of episodes before the end and from that point its totally unnecessary. The original premise for this could have been interesting, but they resolved it way too early, so everything else after that was just a standard ticking the boxes BL.
If you were to judge this series by the opening titles alone you would think you were in for some intense drama, but in reality it's like a bad midday soap. I legitimately tried to sit through the latest episode without skimming, but I lasted halfway through the second part and ending up blasting through the rest. They are trying so hard to make it serious, but it's just comes across as laughable. Normally I would try and find some of the positives, but all I can think of is that at least it's only 12 episodes and the tiger is pretty.
Sigh, the flash-forward, one of my least favourite plot devices. Anyway, I've totally given up on caring about this series, with a pretty low starting point tbh. This episode was mostly filler with the usual *see how much has changed in the future* nonsense, Oh, about the only positive is that Mek looks a million times better with his hair down.
Maybe it's a mix of BL fatigue, or they genuinely aren't trying anymore, but I've never known so many series that I've given up on, watched but not cared about or not even bothered to watch in the first place. Yeah, you still get the occasional gem, but so many forgettable and underwhelming series to work though to get to them.
So we have an episode of Mek agonising and finally confessing his feelings and then Kim pulls that nonsense. Seriously, these two should not be together under any circumstances. Unfortunately they will end up together. 😓
@danieruau,so you don't think that Kamol, and Kim were actually meant 4 each other either?
I just don't see it. They had their initial night of wild abandon, but beyond that there's nothing that's been shown that makes me want to see them together. If the sexual aspect of this series had played a greater role and we saw Kim's ability to satiate Kamol's appetite, or to tame his tiger, so to speak, it might have at least given us a reason why they should be together.
Maybe I'm old fashioned, but if I found out my lover (that makes me cringe hard) was involved in a fraction of the stuff that Kamol was involved in I would be out of there. Phew, you're only into arms dealing, but not narcotics and human trafficking, please come home and meet my parents! There is absolutely no chemistry between Kamol and Kim, and unless that Unforgotten Night was particularly unforgottenable, there's no reason for them to be together. Yes, Kim is trying to get Kamol to leave the criminal underworld, but I'm sure Danai and whoever else Kamol has crossed will never seek any retribution at all at any time in the future. And they all lived happily ever after.
Yeah, I'm 8 episodes deep in this fiasco, so I should stop trying to make this make sense.
I thought this was supposed to be BDSM ..well gues i was wrong. Then the 'Unforgotten Night" was long forgotten.Like…
I don't want to make it seem like I was only watching this for the sex scenes, but I was expecting that to feature a lot more, not just Kim and Kamol sitting around moodily. I thought that would play a bigger part in the character and relationship development, but it's been less whip and more feather duster.
Even when I think I'm up to date with this I find I'm still an episode behind. 😅
Okay, so it's a series so it doesn't need to make sense, but the thing that sticks out most to me is that Kamol supposedly has these feelings for Kim and wants to protect him, but the only reason Kim is under any threat whatsoever is because Kamol pursued him. Kim was living his miserable life just fine without Kamol, and now that Kamol is interested in him, he's been locked up in the house, threatened, kidnapped, shot at and shipped off to who know's where to be kept safe. If Kamol genuinely cared about Kim he would have explained exactly what his business was like and the risks which would be involved, but instead Kamol's selfishness has put the one he loves in peril.
I'm now at the point where I'm just skimming through. This was never a series I was all that in love with, but I just don't care about this anymore. Sure, it fills episodes to have characters agonising rather than having a simple conversation, but if they can't communicate then they shouldn't be together. The original premise was way too thin and so the remainder has been filler.
I've only watched one episode, but I just don't think this series is going to do it for me. It's an interesting concept, but I just find the tone way too light for my liking. Not that I want it to be super serious, but it comes across as... silly? Yeah, I've only watched one episode, but if a series doesn't grab me from the beginning I've found that it doesn't usually win me over in the end. It's a real shame because I loved Sea in 55:15 and happy he has a leading role and overall it's a good looking cast, but part of me feels like it'll just be fan service. Also, body swaps usually confuse the eff out of me. Not wanting this to appear a criticism or take away anyone else's enjoyment, but I'm just a little sad this wasn't the series I was hoping for.
Frustratingly stupid! I couldn't even watch the whole episode without skimming through the second half. So Mek would rather leave Kim confused and hurt instead of telling him he's OMG going overseas to study? WTAF??? I know this is a series but do they have to have characters act so dumb. And Bear telling Bomb that Mek wanted to deal with it on his own? Yeah, because Mek is handling this with utmost skill and sensitivity by... carrying Kim's books. I facepalmed so hard I have a concussion.
The only thing that went some way in redeeming this episode was the show of actual affection between Bomb and Bear and Lee and Park. Not this infuriatingly cringe sniff kissing that you see elsewhere.
Just watched episode 6 and hurting from the cringe. I didn't really have any expectations going into this series, so I'm disappointed as such, but see it as a missed opportunity.
Where do I start? Despite having mad bondage sex with Kamol, Kim gets all coy when he gets kissed on the cheek? I know that the same story in every single BL ever (except for the mad bondage sex part), but it's just tiresome. Can they not have any confident characters?
Danai's function. Oh boy. Such a classy affair that Cherry remembers to bring her dietary supplement! Product placement in these things is usually conspicuous AF, but that was just embarrassing.
Did I totally miss the reason why Kim is suddenly the live-in sex slave of Kamol? Yeah, Kamol has feelings for him, but Kim's just giving up his life to be a kept man for someone who he doesn't even seem to like that much?
Oh, and not knowing a single thing about this, I knew from the very beginning there would be a kidnapping.
Look, I appreciate at the very least they've tried something different with this, but they've just missed the mark. The subject matter lends itself to what could be quite a dark and intense series, but it's One Shade of Meh. Kom and Baiboon is the one thing keeping me going now.
I don't think I'll ever be up to date with this. It's not terrible enough for me to give up on it, but at the same time I find myself at times questioning why I'm still watching it. Kim and Kamol have an inexplicable relationship. Why the hell is Kim staying at the place of someone he appears to have no interest in? Yeah, I know they'll end up together happily ever after, but their relationship as it stands is so dull. There really isn't a spark between them and just feels really unhealthy.
I've seen Yoon in other series and found him okay, but he just doesn't have the intensity to play this role. But this series is a bit of mess so it wouldn't really matter who played him to be honest.
And this comment isn't restricted to this series, but I'm so sick of when they play the same pieces of music over and over again during a series. That same piece of piano music that plays alongside Kamol being Kamol shits me to tears. Okay, they probably don't have the budget but show some restraint when using it.
