I really enjoyed this. Not the best of the year, but probably the one I've most enjoyed this half of the year. I love Khaotung and he really shone in this and his chemistry with First was great. While it didn't hold the intrigue all the way until the end, we did get a pretty decent story and a happy ending, so I'm satisfied. This was a definite return to form for Thai BL for me, where I'd started to despair at the middling series after middling series we were tending to get, but this shows with some effort what can be achieved.
And wherever they filmed those beach scenes looked beautiful. 😌
I'm truly captivated by this series. In so many ways it is a step above a lot of what has been out this year and renewed my faith that all is not lost with BL. Admittedly I love Khaotung anyway, but he is putting in an excellent performance and his tears in this episode really moved me. They've done such a great job with this series.
If I took one bite of something and it made me feel sick, I have to finish it before I can say it's terrible?
Despite Tharn and Type's toxic relationship, at least there was something going on and I finally got to see what Tar's story was all about. I just found the first episode of this a lot of nothing. Also, I don't particularly like Earth and I found his whining insufferable.
maybe, romantic series in the realistic everyday life genre is just not your cup of tea? because... you know..…
To be honest, the first few minutes had me hopeful because for once we didn't have characters living in big houses and driving luxury cars, but the more I watched the more bored I got because nothing happened. The first episode should draw you into the story and get you invested in the characters, but all I got was cutesy nonsense. I know the plot of virtually every series is the couple finishing up together, I just thought with this I don't need to sit through all 14 episodes to get to that when I could barely make it through 1. The most tired and overdone plot can still be good if executed well, I just don't get the feeling this will be the case.
Wow. What a big fat load of nothing. Just watched the first episode and I don't think I've ever watched anything with less substance. Reading the synopsis I see that there is *something* to this series, but I don't think there's anything that really compels me to watch further. After overcoming obstacles Seeiw and Cake will end up together. The End.
I was in slumber on BLs for many months now. We all know there have been many BLs released this year, and unlike…
I was feeling exactly the same. I though it was just BL fatigue, but we were being served up a lot of rubbish with genuinely good shows few and far between. And 100% yes, this is what real chemistry looks like.
I'm not going to say I'd completely given up on the idea of great series being made, but I'd lost count of the ones I'd given up on or not bothered with. There was a time when I watched virtually everything that came along and enjoyed it, not suffered my way through it in the hope it would get better. With this, we have a layered and engaging storyline, characters with actual dimension, and actors who can actually act. Khaotung is a favourite of mine and I'm loving him in this.
This show feels like some people wanted to capitalize on the successes of Cutie Pie and KinnPorsche, but forgot…
I'm so sick of series after series forcing couples on us that should never be together in a million years. They either have no chemistry, or a toxic relationships and yet it's meant to be seen as romantic them ending up together? At one time I would watch something and long for the couple to get together, but now from the word go you know they'll finish up together and you are given absolutely no reason why they should. In fact, you are given plenty of reasons why they never should.
I think I needed a double dose of whatever they gave that poor tiger to get through this cringe fest. I know it's probably not beneficial to comment on what this series could have been instead of what it was, however there was a real opportunity to make something different here, but it instead occupied this weird middle ground where it wasn't intense enough despite trying to be serious, nor was it clearly parody. I think a lot comes down to a perfect storm of poor acting, bad directing, and woeful script. I think Beam was the only one who portrayed his character well, with appropriate villainy. Unfortunately Yoon was way out of his depth with this role and Ton was insipid, so we had yet another couple with zero chemistry and we're still meant to go all gooey about them getting together? Yeah, nah.
Did Khamol forget Kim tried to tell him about his past relationships and he said not to and that he doesn’t…
This episode had me doing some seriously hard eye-rolling. Kamol is willing to give up his life of crime for Kim, but Kim's past relationship with Day is somehow the worst thing ever? Kamol seems to know everything about Kim, but this escapes him?
Oh, and Kim must be one of the dumbest characters ever. He lets Danil hang around and makes him breakfast? I would have kicked him out of the house pronto. And yeah, Kim's life has repeatedly been under threat and Kamol lets Danil wander in and out? Yep, no risk there!
That scene with Cherry had me laughing. That scarf must have been the best disguise ever because somehow Kim couldn't recognise her. Who is the only woman in this series who would happily see Kim dead? Umm, the maid? One of the girls working in his office?
I'm lightyears past the point of having any expectations of this series redeeming itself, however the descent into ridiculous continues apace. One of the biggest problems I've had with this all along is the lack of character motivation. Why are we expected to believe that Kamol and Kim are this couple that has to be together? They had one torrid night and somehow this is the basis of a love of a lifetime? Kim has seemingly given up his life to sit around Kamol's house all day and Kamol is willing to forgo his criminal enterprises for Kim, but why? I was reading some of the comments on YouTube and seriously the comments are from bots or people smoking serious crack because not only do they claim this is getting better and better they are calling for a second season. Umm... no.
Anyway, one more episode to go and I can begin to make Unforgotten Night forgotten.
I don't know how I managed to do it, but I watched an episode without skimming. Probably the only way this series hasn't disappointment me is by not getting any better. Seriously the only one who seems to be in the right series is Danai, with everyone else looking like rejects from some K-pop group. This could have been really dark and intense, but is just laughably cringe. And to the makers of this, if you make another series please please please do not play the same music over and over and over again in each friggin' episode.
Now we're talking! I've just watched the first episode, but this is the type of series I want to see more of, not the endless dreck that we've been served up lately. We have a story with some depth, instead of just predictable nonsense and yeah, newbies have to start somewhere, but when you have experienced actors you can definitely tell the difference. Also, the script and direction are clearly a step above. Only one episode in, but I see a lot of potential for enjoyment.
I don't know about this one... I'm not picky in any sense of the word, but so far I haven't been able to make…
Having watched the whole series, I would probably have gone back in time and stopped myself at episode one. If you're struggling with the first episode, it probably isn't going to get any easier. I've watched far worse, but this isn't anything special either.
And wherever they filmed those beach scenes looked beautiful. 😌
