I have a fond impression on Lee Hyun Yi the first time I saw her in Boss in the Mirror. I felt like she would be a fun person and I wasn’t wrong at all that she has a bright personality. I’m rooting for her more now after seeing her in Kick a Goal. Her passion and determination has won me over — from being dubbed as one of the worst in the league to being such a well-improved player (her and Song Hae Na tbh).
And now, people are saying he doesn’t deserve her like not cool? I understand she became a global star after such a successful series BUT like to say this guy doesn’t deserve her when he’s a talented individual himself is just meh for me.
Anyway, rooting for their happiness! It’s honestly cute to see them wanting to keep their relationship private (of course, they opened up about being in a relationship but like, it’s cool that they don’t post much stuff about their relationship on social media).
14yrs is not that big gap. There are a loy like these gap in RL
Tbh, I didn’t really know that it actually received a lot of backlash from netizens. I got curious with your reply/comment so I googled it. I agree that the scene was really unnecessary. After collecting my thoughts though, I kinda agree that it wasn’t overly disturbing like how some reacted because it wasn’t like ML groomed FL (it was only a one-time encounter). They unexpectedly met years after! But yeah, I do have discomfort with the romance between the leads in the sense that it felt like I have stumbled upon a secret or information of a stranger when I watched that first encounter when FL was still a child. I can’t help but feel like it’s cringe having the certainty that they’ll end up together when as a viewer, I have seen them meet when FL was just a child (it’s weird for me to take even knowing that the backstory between them has no romantic implication on it and ML has been depicted to love his wife very much so no ill intentions toward the kid back then). For the lack of better word: watching the romance develop between the leads is very awkward in my perspective (so I’m definitely gonna skip it over lol I’m staying for the kids who are undergoing their rebellious phase).
Anyway, good for you that you didn’t have to fuss over that little detail like I did. But yeah, they could have really written that scene better. Or better yet, they could have just removed it entirely. Or maybe, made them encounter each other when FL was like 18 if they really want to have that overly used ‘meeting in the past’ theme.

Edit: I thought it’s only until episode 15 but it’s actually still an on-going show!
..... also stoked to see Lee Da Hee confirming though
