Celine is so annoying... what a terrible character writing with lazy plotlines.

@Clesias, yep according to the sources, 2021https://wx2.sinaimg.cn/large/aa311398ly1gk2n4m1ipej20j60eejuj.jpg
That's a little disappointing but ah well, that means we get both seasons in the same year + season 3 of The Great Escape!

Is it true that the new season will start airing in November? Because I saw a picture of the station's sales presentation ceremony and they actually put this season as airing in the first quarter of 2021.

THERE'S GOING TO BE A SEQUEL!!!!!!! I'm so happy, I really love this show and I'm glad that they are continuing Yeesa's story (even though it seems from the trailer that the main focus will be on Ka Chung instead)

I’m so disappointed that Pakho isn’t in this anymore. I knew they were cutting his scenes but I thought he…
Holding hopes that he will appear in the HK broadcast later. Doesn't make sense that they made him film and then cut all his scenes out, when they could have not asked him to film in the first place?

I was just going to ask this question - are HK dramas in Cantonese or does China dub them into Mandarin? And what…
I will recommend Swipe Tap Love as a mature romantic drama. The thing is, the dialogue in this drama is very localised as they use a lot of Cantonese inside jokes and lyrics from Cantonese songs. So not sure if you will be able understand if you are not familiar with Cantonese.

Another drama I will recommend is Life After Death. It's a bit melodrama but I was very touched because the focus on friendship and family are as strong as its focus on the romance. Just be careful of the last episode, it somewhat ruined the whole show so maybe stop watching until the first 25 minutes of the last episode.

From outside of TVB, I will definitely recommend the following dramas as the way romance is depicted in these dramas are very original but also realistic.
: Leap Day - the main character may start off as the typical K-drama heroine - naïve and helpless but the pacing of the show gets a lot better when she starts to take responsibility of her life. There are many touching moments with her father and her best friends in the show, and the love triangle between the three leads is actually the weak points of the show. That being said, I love how the love triangle is very quiet and non-intrusive on the female lead character.
: Margaret & David, Green Bean
: The Gutter

I also love watching HKDrama but I agree the quality is not as they use to be. To me, it really feel more comfortable…
I have the same sentiments. Not sure why TVB is so afraid to use younger actors/actresses and choose to stick to the same old artistes over and over again, when they should be training these young actors/actresses so that they can take lead roles in a few years time.

The only "young" artiste that I can recall from recent dramas is Sofiee Ng who are various VIUTV's series and Chloe So (played Zi-Yau in Life After Death).

I have to say tho, that in "Barrack O'Karma" they also had a lesbian couple. And they didn't degrade it or anything.…
Joel Chan and Selena Li won't be playing Siu and Alex, they will play a different set of characters. The sequel was confirmed in January and there were many rumors about the cast. Filming officially started in September.

They are filming the sequel to BOK now! The two main leads are returning as a couple but I doubt it will be as the same characters, since the whole timeline had been re-written in the last episode. The focus will still be on Kam Siu Building so I hope we can get another good set of mini-stories.

Of course, their deaths had nothing to do with them being lesbians. But then the question comes back to "Why make them lesbians and have them killed in the end?" I do agree that in a way, their deaths were needed as a sort of creepy backstory to the building's otherworldly power but also, I wished they weren't lesbians AND then tragically killed. Like I would rather them be hetero characters and have TVB use up their lesbian quota in another series where perhaps a happier ending can be expected.

This "bury our gays" thing really needs to ... die, not just in Asian mainstream media but all over the world.

I'm not saying TVB is evil and anti-LFBTQ+, they have taken small steps to having healthy representations on screen - we can probably count the sprinkling of lesbian kisses in various shows as small triumphs. (IF we discount the fact these kisses might have more to do with the male gaze than actual lesbian representation; that is a whole different discussion). But these steps are slow as they have to wait for a generation of traditional thinkers to die out lol

I love BOK and I was rooting for it to win last year.

I actually really like the lesbian couple in BOK but did they have to die such tragic deaths? It really does say something about the kind of treatment they have for LGBTQ+ characters - either these characters are murderers, mentally instable or doomed from the start. I'm not saying this is a TVB problem though, after all tragic endings for lesbians is a prevalent trend in Western mainstream media too.
