su ji and sang goo ended up being my favorite couple of the drama. i really enjoyed how their relationship transformed, and by the end felt the most grounded out of the three. don't get me started on ho rang and won seok. them getting back together had me ROLLING my eyes. leaving them single would have served the story better, considering how miserable they were falling short of each others expectations, when they were together.

i really liked this drama until the last two episodes. sure se hee wasn't the most emotionally expressive guy, but playing mind games with him wasn't cool. i honestly didn't expect this drama, as refreshing as it had been until episode 15, to go that route. the guy was obviously head over heels in love with ji ho, his actions repeatedly demonstrated this. if ji ho really wanted se hee to open up about his feelings for her, as well as change the status of their contract marriage, she should have talked it out with him -- i don't know...like an adult perhaps? while set in his ways, se hee was surprisingly flexible when it came to her and often considered ji ho's feelings, even if he didn't always understand them. instead she temporarily disappears from his life so that he can "realize" what's truly important to him. pretty childish and insecure if you ask me.

@debra -- i was having the same issue...every site i tried had subs that would unsync in the middle...i was able to finally watch it on kissdrama.club, if you're still interested. the subs are in sync.

They probably could have cut 4-5 episodes. It felt like they were going in circles over the same issues, so it started to drag around the middle for me. Still a cute watch, but definitely with a different feel from the original.

When a drama is still on my 'currently watching' list for weeks after it's ended, and I'm stuck at episode 5 or I'm waiting for subs, I'll just place it "on-hold" or the "plan to watch" list, if the rating is decent or it has actors I like. Anything else, I'll just delete off the list -- but I'll never officially admit I dropped a drama! lol Because you never know --- I may revisit it in the future!

this drama is just full of surprises. really loving it so far.

TOL is starting to lose my attention. It doesn't help that I'm not feeling the main couple, so any romance heavy episodes fall flat for me. I hope they flesh out the overarching story and subplots more, as well as add more meaningful and decisive conflicts to help shape and drive the drama forward. Otherwise, the next 20+ episodes are going to be one long, dull ride. :(

Second time re-watching, and 1988 was just as heartwarming and brilliant as the first time. This is definitely the best for me out of the Reply series. Those final 5-10 minutes of the drama are so nostalgic, and always bring on the water works. It was nice to see the gang as grown ups, but at the same time I wanted them to stay as young goofy high schoolers forever.

This movie was really good. Made me think of Reply 1988 and the similarities btwn baduk and shogi. It's essentially about chess -- so don't expect a fast-paced movie, but it's an interesting watch nonetheless.

i agree about the inconsistencies. the acrobatics, fishtank bursting, and wife/son death scene grated on my nerves. i was reaching for the box of tissues when kang woo was about to be shown his family, but as soon as they pulled the sheet back, i started laughing at how sans-injury and "artfully displayed" they were. it's a given that writers have to garner interest from a range of viewers by making certain scenes more exciting, impactful or emotional. but it's irritating when logic and reality are thrown out the window. that said, i still like MD's vibe so far. moving forward if they stick with a tight well-paced story without adding unnecessary theatrics or trying to outsmart itself, it could still be a solid drama.

I liked the anime more, but the live action was still pretty good. But what really resonates for me is the message -- if given a second chance to redo your life, would you waste the opportunity or do something with it?

I'm in! Liked the first episode. Hoping it will keep it's momentum.

I usually don't think a 10-15 year age difference is a big deal, but in this case where the female lead was still 16 and underage --- it was a major put off for me. While certainly some teenagers are more mature at that age than others, I still feel that these are highly formative years that kids should explore and experience to their fullest, before taking on marriage. It didn't help that I was never able to connect with Sagano's character and really FEEL why he would be compelled to jump into marriage with a teenager.

wow...KNK is gold. i rarely begin jdramas until they're completely subbed, but i couldn't help myself when i saw it pop up on hub. japanese dramas really know how to spin the absurd, while simultaneously giving life lessons and showing us character growth.

Even if the story has been done before, this was still a nicely done movie, with a fantastic cast of actors. Highly recommend.

There were a lot of aspects that I enjoyed in the movie that I felt were on par if not better than the drama -- the camera work, visuals, vibrant colors, costumery, and CGI effects. I was especially happy to see Bia Qian’s nine-tailed white fox given more screen time, something the drama rarely did. And while I really enjoyed the chemistry between Yang Mi and Chao Mark, the one between Crystal and Yang Yang often felt more palpable, more earnest. I’ve also read comments about folks not liking A-Li’s “fat face” -- pretty harsh. I thought the kid was cute and did well in his role. That said, there were aspects I didn’t enjoy – the choppy editing, rushed feeling, confusing story flow, lack of backstory for some of the characters, and added chunks of dialogue/scenes that did little to further the story along. Even having seen the drama and read the book, I was often left confused as I tried connecting the dots from one scene to the next. There’s a lot of decisive plot to cover, and two+ hours of movie means that every minute has to count – which unfortunately didn’t happen with Once Upon a Time. The movie wasn't quite what I had hoped for as expectations after the drama were too high, but it was still an okay watch.

extremely cliche, but absolutely adorable. nice watch for a lazy sunday afternoon. enjoyed the chemistry between hong bin and jin ki joo.

Glad to see it's current rating. When Stranger first starting airing, it was somewhere in the low eights. This drama definitely kept me on my toes -- never a dull moment. The plot twists just kept coming, making it so that I could never trust anyone entirely on the cast. All of the actors were phenomenal, especially Jo Seung Woo and Bae Doo Na. They knocked their roles out of the park.
