This was considered a romance movie? The scenery of the movie, the old buildings, cherry trees, the historical part of the movie was all very well done. As for romance, if sex can be called romance, then okay, this movie had romance, but come on now, where was the romance in this movie? Really, seriously? Genre is most definitely drama and historical, but most certainly not a romance. Absolutely and thoroughly disgusted with the plot, I love Yuko chan, she is one of the sweetest and greatest actresses out there, Satoshi is another really great actor, so seeing them together, you'd think great, an awesome romance, not sure what to call this movie, but a real major letdown for sure.....I wouldn't even give this movie a 1% rating...

If you want to watch a real romance, Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku is a real sweet and true romance drama...

Wow, talk about a real life experience. This movie was so beautifully balanced together, you not only felt you were flying on the Boeing, you felt like you were a part of it you were so close to it. Really great storyline, the actors, great actors, awesome acting. The music, great choice of songs. I'd watch this again, really great movie, funny but yet suspenseful. Just the experience watching this movie was a real masterpiece.

A really great drama I felt, they mixed some of the history of Japan with some modern style foods. I found the balance between the two really meshed well together. Great set of actors/actresses. After watching a really terrible certain drama with Shida Mirai where she totally betrays her husband in the end, I really felt that in my heart, she really redeemed herself in this drama. Kashii Yu wasn't her normal evil character as she normally is in the different dramas I've seen her play in. It was just a all round great drama. The music was very well balanced, great choice of different songs. I thought it really deserved a very high 9 of a rating. I will enjoy watching this one over again several times.

This screams BETRAYAL, BETRAYAL BETRAYAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Terrible story and plotline. The Japanese who write these absurd and despicable dramas really need to get a life and learn what real love, loyalty, and being faithful is all about. Where was the romance? The genre says romance, there was no romance whatsoever, only betrayal, betrayal, oh, and BETRAYAL. Any person who plays a part of betrayal are really shallow in real life and are prone of betraying one in real life. I would not recommend my worst enemy to watch this crappy drama.

Where is the romance? How can you call betrayal romance? This cannot be called a romance, whomever thinks that this was a romance is sick, twisted, shallow, and needs to get a real life. This was all about betrayal from beginning to end. I wouldn't recommend this drama to my worst enemy!!! It was a sick, despicable drama that doesn't deserve to be watched even by my dog.

I would have given this a solid 10 had it not been for the jackass(donkey) of a husband. He really made it not so enjoyable of a drama to watch. In my most humble opinion, the husband took the beautiful right out of this drama. Otherwise it was an awesome drama. I didn't like the mother-in-law till the last 2 episodes either. Kusanagi Tsuyoshi did a most splendid job as he always does. He truly is a kind person at heart, and it really shone through in this drama. I have never seen any of Imai Miki's movies or dramas so I can't comment concerning her other to say she did a really great job in this drama as well. I think they could have done without the affair happening in this drama, it had no place in this drama whatsoever. If I am spoiling this a bit, so be it. Here was a beautiful story and them putting an affair including the way the husband was totally taken beautiful out of this wonderful drama. The music was very well played out and placed when needed. To watch it again? I would watch it just for the
I have never read a synopsis of Fuyu no Sakura that did the beauty and complexity of the drama justice. Many only describe the basic premise of the first episode, and all describe it as a drama that is very like Winter Sonata (though the similarities are only in passing). As a result, many viewers will pass it by, thinking it a cliched melodrama or a pale copy. That would be a mistake; Fuyu no Sakura is one of the finest Japanese dramas I've had the pleasure of seeing, and arguably contains Kusanagi Tsuyoshi's finest performance to date. In the years since it's release, I've seen this drama three times and have never failed to weep. There is a lot of pain in this story, but it is portrayed alongside the most selfless kind of love; the result is a complex, bittersweet tale that will alternate in the viewer a feeling of regret and rising hope. The events move with a fluid grace that can only be described as slow, but never boring. Every character has a memorable face and their personalities are deeply affecting. Kusanagi Tsuyoshi, as mentioned before, completely inhabits the role of Inaba-san until there is nothing left but the subtle glass maker. It's truly fascinating to behold. Music plays a role as if it were another flawless cast member. It is unique, memorable, and completely instrumental in perfecting each scene. It was such that I ended up importing the soundtrack shortly after my first viewing. This is absolutely perfect for someone looking for a mature drama experience, but everything about this gem comes highly recommended.

What a complete waste of time watching this super crappy drama including the 5 specials after it. Only redeeming point to this drama was the fact of Madoka and Shinji getting married. Wataru was very selfish, only thinking of himself, Hasebe was super selfish and overbearing, and Kayano was just a complete witch, and Sonoko's mother was super overbearing as well. The only time she gets kissed is by Hasabe in the first episode, and a farewell kiss by Wataru in the third special. In the special Hasabe and Kayano mature and become a little nicer. But as a whole, this drama and the specials were complete trash. My heart broke for Sonoko all through the drama and all five specials. I would give this drama a complete 0 but for the music, and Sakai Miki, Yamamoto Kei, Mabuchi Erika, and Nakamura Ryu.

Yet another Japanese crappy love/conniving triangle. In the 4 years I've lived in Japan, I've never come across or dealt with these so called love triangles. These drama writers need to get a grip, stop sniffing whatever glue their sniffing. Only redeeming points to this drama were the actors, music, and the ending... Wouldn't recommend this drama to anyone, not even to my worst enemy...

The storyline was good but for episode 9 in my most humble opinion, personally, they could have done without that episode 100% of the way. There were two actors/actresses that I absolutely detested, and hope I never see them ever again in any drama or movie I see. Other than the two idiots, I thought the acting and choice of actors/actresses were really good. The music was really good too. I never really liked Konishi Manami, but I think she did a real splendid job in this drama. There was a nice balance of comedy and seriousness that made this drama really great. I would have given it a rating of 10 but for the idiot actor and actress.

I was hugely disappointed with this one. What was turning out to be a great drama, didn't turn out that great. Once again there's a dumb love triangle. There's somewhat of a betrayal, not just to herself but to someone else. The acting was really great, so was the music. I most certainly wouldn't watch this one again. I gave it a 7 but a very low 7 just because of the acting and music, and for some of the story line. Just hugely disappointed in this one. There were one actress in this story that I have to hugely commend, and that is Ito Ayumi(Kono Mizuki), she shone in this drama, my hat goes off to her 100%.

How on earth can this be called a romance? It has some really great artists, but the main actress in this drama, three's no other way to describe her as shallow a whore to love one person, and give or offer herself to another. The music was really great. When you're with someone, you don't allow someone else to kiss you on the cheek, you don't go to another guy's hotel room when you love someone, that's dirty, cheap, despicable, and extremely shallow. I wouldn't recommend this drama to my worst enemy...

Other than the actors and music, this was yet another despicable horrible not worth watching special. I really hope they come out with a season 2 to this horrible special. They just needed to leave well alone and ended it with the drama in 2013. I'm not saying how it ends and I'm not saying anything other than what a despicable special...

Firstly, where was the romance? Just because someone liked someone else and there were a couple of side relationships other than the main actors it's decided that it's a romance? Wow, people get a LIFE!!!!!

This was a very strange, weird and dumb movie, there was no comedy, drama it was, but romance and comedy, NOT!!!!!

Great music and actors are the only good thing to this movie. Sad that it turn out to be such a terrible movie when some really great actors/actresses were in it.

Huge disappointment for sure!!!

I'd sure love to know what so many people love about this dumb despicable drama? You have our main male lead's ass(donkey) of a mother that is constantly so whiny all the time, oh, did I mention super controlling, overbearing, and over protective? A father that's as conniving and shallow and despicable as they come. You have an ex-husband who's just a prick of a shallow, despicable no good for nothing jack-ass that just doesn't know when to let go, and his mother, don't get me started on his mother. A hospital director who's a low scum of the earth selfish coward with no spine to stand on. And you have his daughter that needs an absolute most terrible and despicable attitude. Other than our love birds, what is there to like about this drama. Oh, before I go on, ass is old English for donkey. I watch dramas to feel good, not become angry, annoyed, disgusted and livid. Thank you to the writers for an awesome job at not knowing how to write drama's... I give the acting/cast a 5 just for the grandfather, our love birds, Jung In's sister and brother and his girl, the rest can just blow it out of their ear!!! Music was awesome. Rewatch? 0... I only give it a two for the love shown throughout what I've seen already, this is SOOOOO dropped!!!

The music and actors are the only plus to this movie. Just another movie about betrayal. Terrible story line. They needed to use the scrip she wrote for this drama, instead of this story line. That is a given. Great acting, although it has made my perspective and respect of Kitagawa Keiko, and Ito Hideaki go way down. I need to watch a drama that will redeem them in a good way.
