This was one of the more realistic J-Dramas Romances I've seen. It was beautifully done showing the actors (with a wide age gap from the female to the male) as they dealt with the problems of the age gap plus feelings of inferiority by Yui. The music and Kei's dancing were magnificent. They were so totally in love with each other that it showed in the parts they played. I truly don't understand why there were such negative comments about this drama?!? I only wish they had more episodes to expand their love and relationship; but at 7 episodes total, it had to end as it did with smiles and love and hope for their future together. It's more of an adult drama than most K-Dramas are, though I would highly recommend it to those who are old enough to actually view it ... I want to know more about these actors to be able to watch other shows they have been or will be in...
Just read the article and watched the video of the "Ho Goo's Love" press conference... She may be young, but did it seem to anyone else that she was on drugs?! Besides being disrespectful, she acted weird... Hope she comes out and apologizes to the other cast leads or her career could be short-circuited immediately ... What a shame! What a shameful interview...
This was a melodrama with shades of grey. Well, it was that way to me... Lee Soo Hyuk's character is brooding with occasional beautiful smiles -- reminded me a lot of his latest drama "Valid Love". Honestly, though, I needed to come read the reviews and the synopsis to help me understand what I watched. Makes more sense now, thanks to everyone ;) I would recommend this movie for those who like to delve deeper into a story to find the rare nuggets that are there. I just liked it for the surface (even if I didn't understand it all), and I liked it because of the younger (maybe 21 when it was made) Lee Soo Hyuk ;)
I'm still confused as to who was who as well as who did she really love?! The volume on the YouTube channel (there were several to choose from on YT) I watched it on was so low that maybe I missed something important? One of the Reviews above had the same reaction to the almost immediate attraction and graphic love scene -- too soon, too fast! I was hoping some of the other comments would convince me whether I liked the movie or not... Looks as if everyone is still wondering the same thing. It's definitely R Rated so this movie is not for everyone.
He's definitely leading man material. Tall, muscular, handsome ... smoking hot! Who cares if he can act? Haha…
I think his acting has greatly improved, especially with his role in "Heart to Heart". Looking forward to seeing him in more dramas as a leading man... ;)
Just finished watching this wonderful drama, and I liked it from start to finish. Most of all, I liked the last episode...Crazy, I know; but it pulled everything together in such a way that it made me smile, laugh, and tear up as it brought all of the characters to their own happy ending!! The characters Hong Do and Yi Sik were superb, and they were matched perfectly together with such love and chemistry! Watching the romance bud between Doo Soo and Se Ro was worth the ride!! What a warm, loving, way they all grew out of such a tragedy. Loved this so much, and I'll miss seeing these couples. Thanks so much for the memories to all of those who had a part in this show. I recommend this to everyone ... ;)
Just saw him in "Ocean Heaven" (on DramaFever.com) with Jet Li... Amazingly talented actor whose role was the 20 something autistic son of Jet Li. I hope to keep up with his career by watching other of his movies. It's just not so easy to find Chinese dramas or movies online, but I plan to try to locate more of them ;) Check this movie out also. Truly great movie and great actors!!
Such an amazing movie! The loving patience between the father and his son to teach him how to survive. The son learned everything he was taught which in itself was amazing! Great story. Great actors!!! Many tears were shed by me ... Recommend it highly!
Looks as if I'm the only positive person now that this drama is completed. I didn't know about the low ratings. I only knew that I truly liked this drama, especially the suspense, action, and the life of a spy in South/North Korea. We can't always expect to see an Academy Award winning drama with every one that's offered, but we can take the subject matter, actors that we like, and enjoy going along for the ride! I was never bored as some of you said... No skips or fast forwards. The story line, actors, direction ALL were superb. It kept me on the edge of my seat each week, and I looked forward to the next episodes. Just think that this will be the last time you will be seeing Kim Jae Joong in a drama or movie for two whole years as he enlists and completes his military service. I know I will miss seeing this great young talented guy ;) I hope he will be safe and return to his fans raring to entertain us!!
I just noticed it was ranked Ranked: #749 and ranked in Popularity: #62... That in itself says it was a much better drama than most... Kudos to the viewers ;)
I thoroughly enjoyed this drama! It's hard for me to see it rated so low by the reviewers as it was a much better drama than that! To see the bonding of the four women from their first days in prison together when they were anything but close, to the time when they became "family" -- Mother and Daughters with all of their flaws but with such love and loyalty to each other. Even as they found their own individual loves, which made them an even larger family. I thought the acting was superb by every one! I also especially liked the growth in character by Do Jin!! I laughed and cried and laughed some more. The Guest appearance by Soo In's "husband" played his part superbly also. Usually a "guest" role just doesn't make much impression on me, but his portrayal did... Maybe I'm still a novice of K-Dramas (almost 3 years), but I'm more positive than negative when I rate them. I would recommend this to anyone who loves K-Dramas and who looks for the good in the dramas ;) Kudos to the entire production crew and cast!!
Hilariously funny yet warm romantic at the same time ;) I love the Jewish Hasidic music that is used plus the beginning and ending music... I just remembered the father was the lead in "Birth Secret". He was amazing then and now ;) In Sang and Seo Bom are superb as young lovers, young parents dealing with his parents and their high expectations! So far, I love everything about this!!! Kudos to the cast, writers, producers, director, set designs. etc...
Can someone explain me what does "heard it through the grapevine" means?
Wikipedia's definition: To hear something through the grapevine is to learn of something informally and unofficially by means of gossip and rumor.
The usual implication is that the information was passed person to person by word of mouth, perhaps in a confidential manner among friends or colleagues. It can also imply an overheard conversation or anonymous sources of information. For instance "I heard through the grapevine that Brad was getting fired."
It was also a popular song and TV commercial for raisins in the USA, maybe before your time if you're a teenager. Hope this answers your question ;)
This movie was so much better than I had expected. Rain's portrayal of Xu Cheng Xu was terrific, and so much better than other roles I've seen him in! My only problem with the film was that the subtitles were so small that it was hard to keep up with the dialogue... The music was beautiful, especially the last OST of the movie. I was surprised that Tiffany Tang was in this movie with such a small role -- probably a cameo?! I actually thought she was supposed to play the lead female since she's such a superb actress... It's not a "family" movie, maybe PG13 or almost R-rated, but I would recommend it ;)
What a fantastic movie once I got the correct English subtitles! My first try watching was made up subtitles that made no sense... The action scenes were great as well as the acting, writing, humor, scenery and costumes were top quality. Loved this movie and recommend it highly!!
What an incredibly beautiful, loving, action, chemistry, superb actors, amazing writers, fantastic fight scenes ... I loved this from beginning to end! No falling asleep. No fast forwarding. Just plain enjoyment!! Ji Chang Wook is my all-time favorite actor. I've seen everything he's been in, and I'm always surprised how young he is to be such a great actor! He was totally at the top of his acting game in this drama! Park Min Young and Yoo Ji Tae were also amazing as one of their best performances!! You just can't beat Kim Mi Kyung who is also amazing in every part she plays. It was good to see Do Ji Won and Ji Chang Wook together again after starring in "Smile Dong Hae". I highly recommend this drama, and I rated it 10/10
