This was so infuriatingly frustrating. I stuck till the end for the lovely leads. My girl needs a good script. I have so many negative things to say about the writing that i'd rather just stop myself.
She's a writer who hasn't read any other writer?! Every time Soo hyuk mentions a writer of any style she's like Czechoslovakia voo π€ i read it in a pamphlet on a bus window π€·ββοΈ
ABSOFRIGGINLUTELY LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! So frustrating that MDL doesn't have gifs to express my love for this show π₯
And to think i was gonna drop it after the first 10 minutes. What a loss it'd have been!
Shim Woo Joo is love π She's one of my all time fave characters in dramas. I hate to dislike fls but honestly 98% of fls in asian dramas are just so uninteresting and annoying. Woo Joo is such a prize! And I adored Hang Dong Jin too.
Loved the platonic friendship between Yoon Joon and Woo Joo and so glad that t was not put into another triangle packaging with both the males. And how I appreciate the total subversion of the kdrama ocd trope " bitch ex-gf triangle" and the correct use of another kdrama ocd trope "time leap".
I love how the characters are written. All the characters except Heeja are combos of different traits, some good, some bad. Heeja is also the only character with 0 redeemable qualities. i didn't mind that so much though.
A special mention to Kim Ye Woon, a super talented but very underrated actor. She is just so damn versatile. This is a role i saw her play the first time and she nailed it as usual. I have developed my love for her acting through hating her characters. Every character that I have seen her playing has been of a bitch except for Waikiki 2 and Who are you (my intro to her). But every time I hate her character with a vengeance i love her acting with a passion. Shim Hye Seong too is unlikeable to me as a person but i like how the character is written as a potpourri of mealy-mouthed doormat with outside peeps and bfs but self-absorbed and slightly immature personally and always looking for a bf which could be the result of her loneliness alongside her romantic personality despite her circumstances and also a low self-esteem, and also love for her fam, etc. etc. etc. i mean all the characters are like this. They are just layers and layers of traits and emotions and personalities. Love the heck out of the constructions. I was hooked by the characters and their emotions. The drama is like an atmosphere that sucks you in.
I have so much to say about it but just too emotional to write coherently so this all coming out as rambling. Had to unload some stuff right now. Prolly will settle all the emos and write a proper comment later.
Okay... this is some mind reading magic shit π¬ I always wondered how these 2 will do in each other's roles... Now I am scared that GMM is spying on my thoughts π²
The leads are ridiculously good-looking and hot and that last kiss scene was amazing like they concentrated all 8 episode of chemistry into that one scene. I really liked the whole explicitly "I like men" coming out of Jae Woo. This gay affirmation is refreshing. Most bls are still stranded at "gay just for you".
The show itself however was not that great for me. The story was kinda boring. The romantic chemistry was missing except for that last scene and it was not for lack of kisses in the rest. I feel the chemistry should start cooking before the coupling happens. It should bubble up to brim so i can't wait for them to be together. This rush was not here. It could be the writing, or I don't know, directing.
