Having to wait for ohmnanon for 1 more month is just the toughest trial of my patience. 😭😭😭 At least release their trailer so i can watch that 900 times a day and be in ohmnanon coma till then🥺
The girl trying to sell antique is like, it comes from "Chinese" (not song, not tang) dynasty, it's Chinese. That's 2 deets ima tell you about this stuff.
“She kept forgiving you because she was willing to, not because you are special. She is an iron fist in a velvet glove”
I enjoyed it while cringing through it. In spite of its typically Lakorn trashy tropes i.e., toxic masculinity, rape (marital), 0 understanding of consent, misogyny, etc., and yes, insertion of the very unconvincing and dumb plot convenient coincidences.
Why I liked it?
The primary reason is Mark-Mew and their amazefocking acting and chemistry. I have always been a Mark fan since the first time I saw him in Kleun Cheewit. But Mew’s acting chops hit me like a pleasant whiplash here. For me she was always there in a drama before this, but here she’s one of the strongest reasons that made the drama what it is for me.
Moei’s character could’ve easily been the most irritating without Mew’s playing it with so much nuance. After all Moei is a very smart, conniving and manipulative stalker girl with low self-value and an unhealthy obsession with a man. Coul you tell?
Thian is a non-stereotypical jerk and Mark is great at playing both ahole and adorable and everything else with the same charm.
The second thing that I like about this show is how the female characters (even if few) are not completely cliche.
The screenplay does seem like drafted by a potentially talented writer but then revised and edited by one of the antiquated great grandfathers of Lakorn industry scriptwriting. So i keep getting glimpses of how amazing the female characters could’ve been in the drama had they been let to develop non-stunted by the ancient tropes like crazy over man, girls gossiping and banding together against another girl over man, no restrictions on what to wear but policing over how to behave for girls, etc. you know the usual misogyny.
Like Moei’s character. She has agency over her decisions from beginning to end except for some time in the middle when Thian holds her hostage and then leaves her upon mom revealing the truth behind Moe’s fear of drowning. And I was like, dude she asked you for divorce, not disappearance. But then again the rein was given back in Moe’s hand until the end. Truly it was Tien who had been in a helpless situation all those times he was living with Moe after marrying her. He didn’t wanna marry and then when he wanted to stay with Moei she wanted a divorce. The fictitious pms mood-swing has nothing on my girl. And I loved seeing Tien’s face every time he discovered that he knows nothing about Moe and is totally cornered by her. Like: Tien: She is a simpleminded girl. Moe: Has been stalking her since school days. (and finally succeeds to have him give her his kidney voluntarily) Tien: She’s so dumb he he, Moe: hacks the whole office database. Tien: Don’t be so cruel to me, teerak. Moe: P’Tien you totally made me drunk and … so you don’t have to pay the money. Who you calling cruel, huh?! Girl is savage. ANd when Thian cant fight her with brains he cribs, sulks, emotionally hurts her, r8pes her, mia’s from her life to naval gaze and grows baby facial hair.
Yada is my favorite character tho. She’s the antithesis of a Nangrai. Her situation was difficult to watch, squashed between a monster husband and a greedy selfish father. She clung on to the guy who she believed could rescue her out of her abusive marriage. But eventually she realized that She is the only person she could rely on.
Thian’s mother, though overbearing with her interference in her son’s life (it’s an asian thing) was a total darling with Moei and was the one to make Moei’s dream/plan come true and supported her throughout.
Moei’s mom is the mom every kid dream of. She’s like, girl, live your life or ruin it, your decision, will not meddle, just be beside you. Sometimes a lil too much of this attitude.
The story overall is not that good but it was made worth watching and enjoying because of these reasons.
Okay, those constant bouts of poetry diarrhea while Tien was plotting to make Moei his, by way of all the nasty, filthy tricks, was literally hair-raisingly cringy and sociopathic. Like, could you be more tone deaf?! Or maybe just make it a movie: criminal minds - the romantic psycho bard.
Cos that's art💯💖 Have you seen Your name engraved herein?
Oops. I get you. 😅I haven't watched it yet. Heard so may praises for it and the story seemed like it could've been something like ITSAY with the real depiction of relationship and situations. But good acting is a must to support it, obviously.
I wish there was another first-khao series that i could rewatch multiple times. They are too crazy good for just 1 show that I can't watch again. Not just our skyy 2, or Only friends. A solid drama with solid story or entertainment with them as lead couple without a messy relationship. A girl can be greedy 😬😁
Me: Watching all kinda bl fmvs on yt for hours. ALso Me: Incidentally landing on a prat✖️pran fmv then clicking though all suggestions and watching p&p fmvs for days.
