sooo as yeomhwa said that the longer the evil possessed, the higher chance of the vessel will die... looks like…
true, and i think the 100 souls whom Yeom Hwa offered to Bong Su (when he haven't possessed Gyeon Woo yet, which Seong A is yet to console) also made things more complicated 😭
now, i just wonder how are they going to squeeze everything in the last episode tomorrow without it feeling rushed. AAAAA
It was a great movie! Honestly, it would've been easier to catch up if you already watched Light Shop (other adaptation), because watching the movie might be a bit confusing if you didn't. Though, it managed to keep us guessing and guessing as we slowly unravel the clues of the entire plot.
I'll try to avoid spoilers as much as I can, so let me just note down here some pros and cons, as well as comparisons of this Chinese movie to the Korean series. 1. This movie is not really scary, but more on supernatural. The other adaptation is more eerie and thrilling, so if you came here because of the horror genre, then you might get quite disappointed. 2. One of the reasons why this can be confusing is that the time stamps did not much help. But I also think the director failed to elaborate more because the length of a movie—it's shorter than a series. This is why I'm suggesting you guys watch the Korean adaptation first. 3. In this version, the two characters who appeared in the first scene were not really included in the major part of the story, and they only showed up like thrice in the movie. While in the the Korean version, their characters contributed a lot in building the whole storyline. 4. Since the Chinese version is shorter than the Korean one, it has more loose ends. I won't discredit the movie for its efforts in tying up many loose ends, it already did a good job as a movie. I'm just saying some scenes could have been executed better or explained more clearly. 5. Even though the movie is shorter, it still had stronger points that I personally find more compelling than the other version. One of those is that the FL, Xu Nian, have been part of the supposed-to-be "shared universe," and the reason behind it made me sob hard even after the movie ended. It was not in the Korean adaptation, so it was unexpected for me and I surprisingly love that twist. There are more, but it would be a spoiler if I stated everything. Extra: The GL will always, always, always get me! In the Korean series, Seon Hae and Hye Won really pulled my heartstrings, and here, it's Yu Shan and Jia Yi. All actresses did a really good portrayal, though sadly, their moments are a bit short especially in the movie, so we don't get to really explore their backstories.
That's all that I can think of for now! It's already 5am in my country and this movie made my eyes become puffy so I can't sleep. Anyways, hopefully this would help other people to decide whether to check this movie out or not. <3
Cho Eun Ae is a refreshing character, and arguably have the most depth here in my opinion.
In the eyes of the viewers, her story as the female lead in the first book was a classic sweet poor girl falling in love with a tough prince, and they faced countless battles and went through a lot of struggles, with a happy ever after ending—but no one knew how she actually felt as a person and how those experiences shaped her. I'm actually glad she turned out to be a character who's not pure good or pure evil, unlike what we initially thought. I watched this for both the leads, but ended up appreciating her character more. I also want to praise Kwon Han Sol for her acting, especially in the last episode. Her scream got me!
For me, she and Prince Seong Hyeon carried the show in the last few episodes. I still want to give this drama a mid rating though because Ep1-8 is enjoyable. It's not a bad drama, don't get me wrong, and it's not that I hate the last few episodes—but I started to lose interest, that's why I only finished it today. It was a solid 7.5/10.
everything was mind-blowing, i love the series of events in the latest episode! though it's sad to see bongsu acting that way 🥹 hopefully they'll be able to give us a happy ending and closure for everyone, including the viewers, in the end
The commenter saying gyeon u isn’t a like able person really pmo sorry 😭do you hate the fact his a normal…
Oh, I just scrolled through this page and... did not expect to see those comments. Some people really need to understand that not everything works the way they think it should. I might've been late to make a point, but still want to share these thoughts.
Not being able to understand why Seong A likes Gyeon Woo doesn't mean it's impossible to happen, even in real life. And not liking Gyeon Woo because he 'obviously' pushes away people around him doesn't make Bong Su any "better" than him. Atleast, despite the trauma Gyeon Woo experienced in his while damn life, he still has a kind soul that's worth falling for for Seong A. While in real life, people who experienced the same thing might even be consumed by the trauma and do worse things. Both Gyeon Woo and Bong Su surely suffered a lot, but they still have different experiences that shaped who they are.
I knew it! I realized he was Bong Su the moment he woke up, 'cuz Gyeon Woo don't speak that wayyy. I wanna cry AAAAA, please still let Bong Su enjoy a bit of his time but don't let Gyeon Woo disappear... For everything that Seong A and Gyeon Woo went through, they deserve a happy ending!
Why's the last episode like that? Is it in a novel? Someone please spoil me, why did he decided to say that to Misa? 😭 I'm fine with spoilers, but my heart is not fine with EP8's last scene... 😔
I initially thought the evil spirit would be fearing and has a high position, one that is scary enough for Yeom Hwa to call "deity." How did we get an evil deity as hilarious as Bong Sun? 🤣 But please, get out of Gyeon Woo's body after the Archery Competition.
Now, I just want to know why Yeom Hwa did a lot for the sake of resurrection of the "devil" that is actually goofy and doesn't look to be as evil as I thought. How is she saving herself by doing all those? And what would happen to The General after saving Yeom Hwa, when in the previous episode, she prepared a coffin for her and herself?
Jiho got to know he is bong su at the archery field when bongsu kicked him. He knows now that gyeonwoo got possesed
Yeah, he did found out he was a different person but haven't confirmed if it was the evil spirit. Though I knew he found out by heart, he still saw lovey-dovey moments of Seong A and "Gyeon Woo" (after the possession) so it might be confusing him for now.
I hope it won't be long for Ji Ho to realize why Gyen Woo act that way. Please let him know asap, the whole episode went by without him knowing who "that" was. I feel sorry for him. Bong Sun is cute, except when he hurts Ji Ho. T_T And what was thaaat, Seong A and Gyeon Woo / Bong Sun scenes are sooo adorable—can't get enough of them!
I'm honestly loving it so much, even the villains got me hooked! I love the casts, and I can't be more satisfied with how the show turned out. One of the most decent adaptations for me, so far. 😄✨️
I like how I'm watching this drama while airing, but at the same time don't like how this is STILL airing. Like what do you mean we had to wait for 6 days for the new episode!? But at the same time, the cliffhangers and the tension of not fully knowing what's coming keeps us excited for the next episodes. Ughhh! I fell head over heels for this drama.
