8.7 is kinda crazy considering people HATED it when it first dropped
Many people are still satisfied with it for how it was, I guess. As for me, I started with low expectations and also haven't read the novel, so I didn't really had high hopes despite the huge amount of people waiting for it.
I'm not saying it's bad to expect though, because it's understandable for novel readers to have high expectations, considering they loved the novel. I'm just saying some people may enjoy it for what it is, while others would of course compare the quality of the original novel to this adaptation (which is not wrong). It's just a matter of perspectives nd expectations.
I kept ranting to my friend who doesn't watch dramas about this drama while watching ep 22 & 23, i don't get…
With how she stuttered even before saying "yes," I see it as she still somehow blames herself for what happened even though she knew for a fact that she sent the troops on time before. It was still delayed under her guidance, after all she's the one who led the troops, not her brother. She thought it would be meaningless if she said it, since just like what she said, it would be hard for Xiao Jue to believe her. You can also see how mad Xiao Jue at that time, he's not in the state to properly listen to her.
As much as I love the actors, CGI and all the other things, something is just... missing here. There's so much going on, yet it felt empty. Unfortunately, I can't see the purpose of this drama—it leads to an unsettling "nowhere," like a ship that would sail where the wind just happen to blow it. Also, Han Li have become so formidable yet there is no one whom he really had a deep connection with, not even Cai Huan (yet). I don't know... maybe it's because of the pacing of the drama and too many time jumps? Or maybe I was just not used to this kind of storyline? But there are times when it's difficult for me to get past an episode. It seems like this is not for me. Though, I would still finish watching it since I'm not a fan of dropping dramas and I'm still curious with how the story would unravel.
I'm still on Ep10, and wondering why the other 3 actors are considered as main characters here. So far, they haven't really shown any relevance to the drama (except knowing that they came from powerful families). Looking forward to the build-up of these characters. :D
The synopsis seems to be somehow similar to Hidden Love, which makes me have lesser expectations. But still, I wanna watch it for my baby Lu Yu Xiao and Lin Yi. I'm in!
The poster alone is already captivating, and the synopsis makes me feel like I could expect something in this drama. And I'm not really a fan of HMH, but I absolutely love LYX in My Journey To You, Blossoms in Adversity and The Perfect Match! Count me in. :D
Where is your source there are not A-list? This drama is a adaptation from a Big IP, if the drama adapted from…
No. I didn't. But I do know it has a big IP.
Also, from what I know, A-list actors are those "on demand" who also have a huge fanbase and is highly sought-after by investors and advertisment companies, just like the Four Dan Actresses.
This is the first c-drama that I've seen where the main leads are not A-list actors, yet so many people are waiting. Is the novel also that popular? Anyways, I'm so happy to see Zhou Ye and Ryan Cheng again on screen. 🥹
Finally done! Thankfully, Episode 12 explained the confusions from Episode 11. Now, I'm relieved that everything went well and that Yeom Hwa somehow redeemed herself (even though she doesn't really deserve it). I still feel like our main lead's precious moments were taken away from them (and us viewers) with all the time jumps, and I don't like how the Bong Su plot was dragged and the ending was rushed. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed it overall—a solid 8.5/10.
The writers have done such a bad job writing this. When the comment section is full of confused viewers, you know…
The plot surely have down sides, which is the pay they must price for trying to make a somehow "unique" world. But even though everything is a mess for now, some of us still find it compelling from the beginning to the end. So yes, the writers did a bad job at some part, but I think it was yet difficult to tell if the writer failed—though we'll know tomorrow for sure.
Petition to add at least two spin off's of their happy moments together! Please let them be happy, and let the viewers get closure. Tomorrow's ending won't be enough for sure, so let them be happyyy!
Also, does he have an endgame here? Just curious, 'cause so far, I'm not expecting anyone lol.

Anyways, did you like or dislike it so far?
also, i think you should mark this as spoiler.
