Their interactions so far were a mix of comedy, intrigue, and harmony. I can't put it perfectly into words, but it really was that mixed feelings. DX's sparring scene with HXX's intervention was funny, and the way they both challenge each other through the same tactic (lying) was even funnier yet reveals how good of a pair they can actually be. The curiosity spectacle was working well for me! It really felt like a fateful encounter, I'm immediately rooting for them not because they're the main leads but because their interactions made me.
I just finished watching all, and I wanted to share a few thoughts without spoiling the show (for some who haven't…
Second, I waited for an actual battle scene for XZ to showcase his martial art skills though, not an uncle-nephew sparring! I felt kinda betrayed, feeling I was robbed of a powerful version of Marquis. He was sick or injured most of the time, so don't blame me. 😭 This is not a comparison on who got more fighting scenes between the leads, btw.

First of all, I love and kinda hate (in a positive way) how the last 5 episodes was made! The post-credit scene of the last episode almost made me go feral, like what ifff? But still, everything was beautifully done. Of course, the drama have inevitable flaws just like any other drama, but those were minor issues for me so I can say it didn't quite affect the overall enjoyment of the show. From the characters being alive, plot and dialogues being well-written, cinematography and editing that were carefully thought, and for every nuances in the details—everything created a huge impact that will surely limger with me for a very long time. It will be difficult to move on from POJ. I'll miss them.
The long wait will now be over, I can finally rest assured today. But that also means the drama I've been eagerly anticipating to air everyday wil now finish airing... Kinda as sad as a break-up, tbh. 🥲💔
It makes sense that she didn’t properly earn her military merit because she actually didn’t… She was promoted…
Totally agree with you. This drama inevitably has its own flaws, but narrative-wise, I think they did it well because the characters' course of actions remained true to the characters' intent from the start.
The kiss scene, I like, but there has been soooo many spoilers of this on X since they filmed that it was underwhelming.…
Sadly, there are people who love to make use of that scene for different reasons. TT
Personally, I also saw many posts in different social media platforms showing that kiss but the post-credit scene added a flavor into it—it made me became more hooked than underwhelmed. 🥹
Based on how I understood, she's actually smart—not in learning books but in things that require physical strength. Before her father died 10 years ago, he taught her some martial art skills (especially his signature moves) solely for her personal protection. That time, Chang Yu was around 9 and below, since she was just 19 years old in the current time. I don't know how they made her have photographic memory and how her skills didn't rust lol, but since she had always been physically strong and she had a great bind with her parents, I assume she always think of those moments with her father and she always carried what he taught her in her heart.
She didn't learn military command and such, only later on in the drama. You will see how she unintentionally violate the rules.
I can't feel how "cruel" Prince Danyang is. Everytime NYZ or anyone says he's up to no good, I doubt. Maybe because the drama didn't show much of him, so the image that was stucked in my mind was the good emperor in The Double (played by the same actor). 😅
On the other hand, one character I thought I won't like was Princess Jin Mei Niang, but she stood out for some time for me.
I love how the Pig Butcher Squad didn't leave FCY when LHA wanted to talk to her about the military conditions. This crew is always the spotlight stealer.
Please don't watch the leaked episodes. This was supposed to end in the last week of March, not today. It won't benefit our faves and is extremely unfair for the crew who worked hard for this amazing drama. :((
Lin Yun looks stunning in the photos! She's one of the few underrated actress I like. I'm glad she's paired to Zhang Ling He, I have more reason not to miss this one out.
How are the past two stories with the same universe (HL and TFF) connected to this story? Who in the past main leads are friends with either Yun Li and Fu Shi Ze?

Will try to make a review today or tomorrow!
