Will this season end with Xiao Wu's "death"? Then the second season will be him getting her back? Or is the drama not even close to that yet?

I'm surprised she's not more popular. I liked her role in Martial Universe. I know she's a little older, but she definitely looks younger than 40.

This plot seems like Ouke no Monshou or Anatolia Story. This is a must watch for me, hopefully it's good.

I'm at chapter 168 from the manhua, waiting for the rest to be subbed. I suggest waiting for the drama to complete on the 21st of February (or the 17th for VIP which is free for the first month) before starting it. Read the manhua or watch the anime (I tried, watching the anime, but ..)you just have to wait two weeks.

What do you think of the Empress?

If I recall correctly, the Empress was actually kind hearted. For myself, in the beginning she was cautious about the female lead, but that doesn't mean she bad. From what I remember the main thing I remember was the good relationship between the FL and the Empress.
