Today's episode was sooo good. Thank god we have another one tommorow and we won't have to wait another week! Ayden Sng was born for this role, he's killing it 💛
😭😭😭(Last time I had such a long-lasting post-drama depression caused simply by the fact that the drama…
Now that you mentioned it, I realized that was exactly what I was missing! More cathartic healing, that's it! But yeah, like we both said, it was just a special, and a really good one at that.
I basically agree with everything you said! Though honestly, the fluff did not bother me. I would say I just could not get used to those two being that fluffy 😅
My baby Fan Xiao is by far my favorite morally gray character! I loved hating him throughout the whole series and the novel, but by the end, all I wanted was for Shu Lang to be able to forgive him, even if I as a viewer and reader could not! I don't know if that makes sense 🤣 But I will stop there, because once I start talking about TMS, I never stop! I will just say what moved me and what bothered me in the special episode.
First of all, as gorgeous as both of them were, I did not like that they changed their styling and makeup. They reminded me more of themselves than of their characters. And don't even get me started on Zhen Zhen! I barely recognized him with that black hair and makeup! He also looked ten years older, (basically closer to the actor’s real age 😅)
Another thing that bothered me a little was the kissing scenes. Except for the last one, which was really sweet, the others did not feel as natural to me as they did in the series. Not a huge deal though, because what mattered more to me was that their chemistry was still there. And of course in the end we still didn't get to see Tian Tian with Fan Xiao... That was my final complaint.
And of course, my favorite part of all was the last scene where both of them are talking to their mothers. I think there were similar dialogues in the novel too.
As for versatile couples in general, I totally get you, they have been my favorites long before Chusan and Liuyi! Seriously, when I read The Hopeless Bottom, I died. I loved it so much, and it was hilarious 🤣 I think I started loving this trope because of Gu Hai and Luoyin from Addicted. So yeah, if Su Erliang ever decides to write an extra where they switch roles in bed, I will absolutely lose it 🤣
https://futiledevices.blog/chusans-liuyi-childrens-day/Personally, I’ve gone through almost all the versions…
The first time I read it, I did not notice much either because I read through it really quickly, and compared to other translations it felt way better. But the second time, I did notice a few small parts that felt like something was missing from the story. Now I have been going through the edited chapters, which basically means rereading the whole novel since they started over from the beginning, and it is even better.

I’m going to miss them too! But their company has already announced that we’ll see them together again in another project, and honestly I believe them because so far they’ve followed through on everything they’ve promised 💛
Look, I’ll be honest. I really liked it. It was exactly what they promised us, a beautiful ending for FanShu after everything they went through. I actually teared up during the last few minutes. I won’t go into details because I don’t know if you’ve seen it yet. And it really did feel fulfilling.
Now, did it live up to my expectations? Maybe it’s because I had been waiting for it for so long, or because I would’ve preferred if they had included some scenes from the extra chapters of the novel, I don’t know. I don’t want to sound ungrateful because for a special episode, it really was very good. I just didn’t feel the same way I did with the series. Their chemistry was definitely still there. I can’t quite explain what was missing for me, but honestly, I was expecting a little more.

I probably never came across the Wattpad translation you mentioned, because the one I found had a lot of grammar issues. And I don’t think futiledevices is fully AI-made, or if it is, they’ve definitely edited it somehow because the dialogue sounds really natural. Still, some scenes are missing like you said, and since I’m rereading the chapters they’ve already edited, it actually feels more complete. Anyway, I hope Rosmai picks it up like you said. I didn’t know that, I’m really happy 💛
Personally, I’ve gone through almost all the versions online, and this is by far the best one, with the smoothest translation. They’re currently editing the novel, especially the raw chapters 🤭

I went through that again recently with TMS, but at least there we get a special, which I honestly expected would heal me and finally help me move on from our boys here, but apparently that’s not the case 😔
Love your pfp🤭🤭 I do hope we get a remake of it since they won't leak the remaining episodes
I genuinely believe this story is cursed...
First, the original with the unmatched Johnny and Timmy got banned. Then years later China picked it up again for an adaptation, Stay with Me, completely changed everything about it, but honestly it was still incredibly good despite the censorship and worked perfectly well as its own story. But then that got cut off on a cliffhanger too, with no second season, leaving us suffering even more.
And then Thailand picked it up for an adaptation. Right when you think "at least now we’ll finally get a proper adaption", because with such an amazing story how badly could they possibly mess it up, they cast the most random actors imaginable, one of them being underage, made it painfully soft again, and the end result was honestly one of the biggest disasters Thailand has ever produced in BL. And now from what I’ve seen, they’re even making the sequel adaptation, the second book of Are You Addicted?, with a completely different cast! Seriously, how many more times are they going to ruin one of the best danmei stories ever written? 😩
Personally, I’ve stopped hoping at this point. I just stick to the original and rewatch it again and again from time to time...
are we gonna get another special episode or it was this only???
It still amazes me how this series managed to feel so intense and intimate at the same time. A lot of BLs rely on chemistry alone, but this one had everything working together perfectly. The performances, the dialogue, the emotional pacing, even the silences between scenes felt meaningful. Nothing about it felt shallow. I ended up getting emotionally attached in a way I rarely do with fictional couples.
Fan Xiao and You Shulang felt messy, flawed, obsessive, caring, frustrating and tender all at once, which is exactly why their relationship felt believable to me. They were not softened to be easily likable, and I think that is what made their connection stand out so much. You can call them toxic, complicated, but the emotional pull between them was impossible to ignore.
And the special episode just made everything hit harder. Seeing them finally exist in a calmer and happier place after everything they went through genuinely felt rewarding. By the end, I just sat there thinking about how rare it is for a story to leave such a strong impression long after finishing it.
For me, this is one of those series that completely redefines the standard. Very few fictional couples leave such a lasting impact on me, and I think this one left the deepest ✨
