Wait, so does this have a trans lead? All the summary info uses she/her for the protag?

This was really good. I found that some climactic action in the final few episodes was a little long-winded and clumsy, but that's a small nitpick.

On ep 4, loving it so far, but dang my boy is not necessarily great at acting, huh? He can stand there and look cool, but there's just something a lil off about his expressions. This is definitely a more challenging role than other things I've seen him in, though, so props to him for taking on new challenges.

Just thinking about this drama and how it ticks literally every single one of my boxes. Sigh. I wish something could match this drama.

I think this is it. I've loved both of the leads in other projects but in this case it sort of feels like they don't have a lot of natural chemistry- and tbh, the writing isn't doing them a whole lot of favours. I just think at this point we should have had a few more scenes of them actually bonding & enjoying each other's company, but these 12 episode dramas really cut out a lot of the time we get to just schmooze with the main characters.

Ohhhh, Lovely Runner. Based on context I thought maybe OP had meant RL/irl shippers, but I guess it kind of *is* that. People are kinda crazy huh. That drama came out so long ago, who is still hung up on the couple from it

I love all the ingredients of this drama but does anybody else feel like it just isn't delivering the juice? Like it just ain't quite hitting?

Sui Yuanqing was crafted in a lab specifically to appeal to me, I'm afraid... more than a little crazy, constantly getting captured (initially scary but in reality a total boyfailure), very fiery in loyalty and revenge, and holds a bit of a delusional candle for the MC till the very end. I'm really gonna miss him as a character, to be honest.

It feels like Sui Yuanqing has gotten captured and released/escaped so many times...

On ep 25... bro publicly giving her a punishment but barging in to take the punishment for her is CRAZY. The whole cadre of military men AND a princess all basically playing along with making sure this high-ranking official's weirdly buff little wifey doesn't find out who he is is SO fucking funny to me.

Someone going to whip her and him catching it to protect her WHILE she has a knife to his chest threatening to kill him... insane.

Okay sorry for saying this out loud but crazy evil guy trying to kiss Changyu and her kinda stabbing him and him kinda liking it... this whole scene is kinda doing something for me. Hmm.

I like how their solution to "why would female protagonist with deep roots to this town ever want to leave it?" was just.. "what if we fucking kill everybody? just, the whole town? all of them." And they even already ferried away our favourites to safety via conscription! How convenient!

On episode 18... I was wondering, writing-wise, how Changyu would leave Lin'an. That... that'll do it. Yup yup yup.
