I'm not getting into this with you. I don't know what you're trying to prove. Everyone knows they were making fun of black people with that character in many different ways. Just because you love the show or actors doesn't mean you have to defend it to the death.

And anyway, you're playing word games. Trying to say just because that could be his natural skin tone then it doesn't qualify as blackface since there might not have been paint if he had a tan. And as long as it wasn't "technically" blackface that makes it okay. Don't you see how ridiculous you sound? Again, blackface is not just paint. Even if they didn't darken his skin, everything else about him was being portrayed as a black person and he was acting exactly like blackface actors used to act when they were portrayed as jokes on stage.

I agree, I loved his acting in Strangers from Hell but for some reason he was so stiff here.

It doesn't matter how dark the blackface is, it's still blackface. And like I said, it isn't only about darkening the skin.

Why does this only have slight romance tag like half the drama is about their romance

She's not that bad of an actress but something about her rubs me the wrong way. The biggest thing is she does this thing where she purses her lips to talk and it's annoying af, it ruins all her scenes

It was blackface though, the actual actor looks nothing like that including his skin tone, and even aside from his skin they were obviously portraying him as a black person and making fun of it.

I'm not saying I agree with what they did or not, I ignore controversies in dramas and rate the actual drama itself, but they definitely made him darker.

The ML's instalove is so cute ^^ JaeWook is very different here and I'm absolutely loving it.

Edit: So I loved the first 2 episodes but now I'm on episode 3 and it's already slow. ML is already smitten, FL is just naive and bubbly and nothing else is going on in the plot, zero tension just FL being ditzy. Does it get better?

I agree. It was excruciatingly boring. Young fans need to stop overrating dramas just because they love the actors.

I made it to episode 6 too. 6 was definitely more interesting finally but I still think it's way too slow for me. I like the romance but I can just tell it's going to be a supppperrrr slow burn in between all those family conversations that make me want to FF.

I hope this script is unique and a masterpiece like Sound of Magic, and not kind of dull like a lot of new dramas these days. Looking forward to it for JCW

Same, on episode 3 and feel like falling asleep. Not sure why those episodes got 9+ ratings. Must be from fans of the actors. I'll give it to episode 5.
