I'm loving Backstreet Rookie, although the controversial aspects are obvious. Imo it's still a must see if you're a fan of his comedy.
Lovestruck, K2, Melting Me Softly, even Suspicious Partner I didn't really like. TSOM and Healer are two of the best dramas of all time for me. The lackluster roles don't make me think of his performances any less, only disappointed that he should have better roles.
It's okay to not like all of an actor's dramas. If anything it's better to feel that they deserve more and want better roles for them.

How is the romance so far

He won't, the "incident" and him reaching the end of his life in the synopsis is probably talking about a suicide attempt or just him at a breaking point in life

I agree but there have been exceptions, especially TSOM. It seems when he was trying to get away from action he or his management focused on comedy...which he is also great at...but imo he is so talented he should have focused on drama, melodrama and slice of life, serious heavy roles which is where he would really shine, instead of romcom goofy scripts

I hope it's not a case format drama. I'll watch anything with JCW though

Exactly, it's about Yumi exploring relationships and sticking to her convictions. She had told herself she would never stay with a man who was swayed, and she was brave enough to follow through with it. It's more about staying true to herself.

It sounds like they can't/won't make a 3rd season, so because of that they had to improvise and didn't have enough space for the 3rd ML.

Slight romance. Lots of good chemistry in the beginning but it doesn't lead anywhere satisfying really

It was decent, my only problem was the ML, it would have been a lot better if the writer hadn't tried to make him so bold/forward and already in love with her, I know it was supposed to be endearing but he came across as creepy. Also ML's visuals were too michael jackson for me and he needed less makeup.

I mean that sounds honorable of him and all but truthfully we can't always take what we're told from celebrities at face value. It would be very rare and not smart for an actor to purposely choose bad scripts. There is probably something else going on that we don't know.

It's nothing against him, I honestly think there must be some issue keeping him from the best roles. He is my favorite actor, and I'd love nothing more than to see him in the high quality dramas he deserves to be in.

Possibly, there's also the possibility that he has trouble getting better roles for reasons we aren't able to know about.

The teaser shows romance

It doesn't look like there's going to be, they used some of the third lead's scenes on Babi and it looks like they're setting Yumi back up with Woong

No they didn't

So after finishing episode 10 I get the impression that there isn't going to be a season 3 and they got rid of Soonrok's character to instead make Yumi get back together with Woong in the end.

Do we know if this means they're removing soon rok's character from the show?
