Sound of Magic was the best drama of the year for me so far, although I admit some scenes were a little juvenile. Healer and Empress Ki were the only two other excellent project choices imo.

I would love to see him in better high-quality, mainstream and more popular roles. He seems to lean more indie. He deserves the best roles because he's definitely talented enough. I'm hoping this drama will turn out to be a masterpiece

When does this start to get better? I keep trying to start it and can't get past episode 4. So far it's boring with too many side stories and not enough lead screen time

So it is pretty aged, and some aspects have not aged well imo (the wardrobe design, music, and cinematography). But most people who love this drama love it for its plot, acting, chemistry, and romance. Still more than worth watching.

I found it boring and not a fan of the ML, he was too feminine.

Empress Ki is the one I didn't like her in, so many deer in the headlight looks like she was trying to make her eyes bigger in shock but failing. She kept doing it, it looked awkward and got annoying. Not a fan, although the drama itself was amazing.

Me neither. She always does this frozen deer in the headlights look that ends up looking really strange and is not acting. Not the best actress, she needs to work on her expressions.

This is so good! I wish they'd bring back heavily plot-based and fast paced dramas like this. It's one of the reasons earlier dramas are usually my favorites. And I'm totally seeing Park Bong Soo from Healer in JCW's role here ^^

I'm glad it's not just me. Everyone says it's a masterpiece and the best drama ever but I can't get past episode 3. The story is not hooking me and the music and melodrama reminds of modern cheesy American thrillers.

Is this drama underrated or is it really that bad

This is even better than I expected! The type of show that should have a cult following. Unique and kinda twisted (in a good way) with violence and romance. Great acting, production, and writing as expected from this director/writer. Love it

I'm on episode 10 and probably going to drop, it's so slow and boring. Feels like there's no tension, nothing really happening. There were a couple scenes of decent chemistry but romance is still almost non existent. Overrated

It's a high quality cute drama and you'll love it if you like case dramas. 8.5/10 for me, I'm watching mostly for the romance at this point

I wish there was a season 2 to answer these questions. Since there will be no season 2 then this is one drama I actually think needed to be longer. I still loved it though.
