Oh man, I didn't realise Ji Li was here also until he appeared in episode 5. Lol. Everyone seems like a familiar face but they're not. I'm enjoying this thus far.
Have you read the novel? Aha, basically the original source of this franchise. I couldn't get through the manga…
It's been so long so I don't know if you really wanna do that lol but I've read the novel on Webnovel under the same name (Bringing the Nation's Husband Home). Unfortunately though, I didn't watch this drama adaption. Simple because reading the novel was hard enough, I'm not going through that pain again. I've seen snippets though. The actors/acting were fine, some parts I think were according to the novel but some seem to be added in. I think everything such as the film tech and wardrobe was nice. I'm not sure where they came out with the title 'Pretty Man' though. I don't know?? Like the title just doesn't really make sense especially compared to the OG title.
Well... I've read the webtoon some time ago and recently watched the anime. The anime looked like sth divided…

Wanted to give a little comment. Maybe a bit late as I deliberately withhold watching this but believe me when I say I was shocked that this was the adaption of the exact novel that I have read and have a love/hate relationship with. Now in saying that, the novel is nice minus the many unfortunate and toxic things that Ye Fei Ye likes to write. Drama wise, the actors (especially Dylan) I think was chosen quite perfectly except the irony that Jerry and Dylan was casted in another drama that had these two playing different roles and making things a bit awkward. I admit, I didn't imagine Lu Jinnian to be played by Dylan but it was fine. I can't comment on the plot, as the small snippets I've seen seems to be one part where they did go by the novel and some that seem to be added in. The ending was fine though, happy, just as I expected that happened with the novel. I just wished if another novel of Ye Fei Ye's gets adapted again, they should pick up one of her nice novels that she's written that doesn't include her usual misunderstandings and all these messy things. Other than that for who ever is watching this, I recommend you to just read the novel first to get a feel for it or precede with caution with this entire series.

IF YOU ACTUALLY WATCH SEASON 2 (even tho it's a "meh") TRY TO UNDERSTAND THAT RUOBAI IS AT AMERICA HAVING A SURGERY…
Yes, I think it was implied in the last episode? Been along time since I watched this, lol. But wasn't season 2 implying he was dead or somehow won't come back at least for a long time because of this 'surgery'?
This is really a nice fun show that is very easy to get into. Already in the first episodes you get thrown into…
For those in Australia, Kukan is unavailable to us. Viki has the best subs (in my opinion anyway) but it is slow (as of the moment it's currently airing), I find MZTV has the near best subs. Don't try Dramacool y'all. Just don't. Lol. MQ Media USA's subbing just doesn't cut it unfortunately. Dramacool ripped them off too. Though I agree with this statement.
I don't know bout y'all but it's enjoyable. Lol. The plot seems a bit slow, I was expecting the marriage to happen sort of instantly but 6 episodes in and we get no way near that. Case wise is pretty standard, I like where it's going so far. The OSTs is nice and the costumes standard. The castings seems to be acting just fine and to their characters, the characters on the other hand could've been written better but there isn't anything else other than that. The only thing I find ify was trying to pair our leads together. You see our male lead getting paired with Liang Jie so often that you just can't imagine him with someone else especially someone like our female lead who mind you I'm still hung up on cause she paired so well with Hu Yi Tian. So that will take some time getting used to but I like our second couple and a potential 3rd couple if I'm right with where we're headed. I'm looking forward to moving further into the story and seeing where the ending will lead to.
I remember watching him in Dear Herbal Lord and found him so familiar until I looked through his work and found he casted in The Untamed. Lol. He definitely needs more costume dramas.
So I binged watched this for two days straight. And I'm happy to say I'm satisfied. I'll classify this as a somewhat light hearted drama just with a more serious tone to it. The plot is unique in itself as I've never really watch these type of dramas. The actors did an amazing job with portraying their characters in my opinion. The characters written though could've been better but like I said it satisfies. The costumes was perfect but the CGI needed better work. Osts was very beautiful and an ending that leaves me feeling refreshed. The only thing I'm confused about was the male lead's said 'retribution' in love as we all know he was sent down to defeat God of Plague and not anything else, not sure if I missed something. Overall, pretty nice, would recommend. Oh yes, not to mention, the very sweet scenes, especially the kissing scenes lol. The male lead could kiss alright. I was surprised because this was my first time watching this dude, he nailed everything down.
hi! I am wondering if this drama has those like annoying love triangle or their parents disproved their relationship?…
Uh... Yes and no? The male lead had a childhood friend who was sort of hung up on her love for him but both our male lead and female lead handled it just fine. It did get a bit annoying with the schemes she was doing but honestly it wasn't too bad. Mother in law didn't really express too much satisfaction for female lead in the beginning but she didn't really disapprove of it either, you'll end up loving her more and more throughout the episodes though, lol.
