I remember either back last year or a few years ago when they announced this that the female lead would be Su Xiao Tong. I was super excited not only because she would be leading, but because the synopsis was intriguing me also. Now that I've watched it, I'm satisfied. The plot, and I agree with the others was refreshing. A fresh take in the detective genre that I haven't seen for a while, especially set in such a historical setting. I did find the ending however, capturing you know who to be a bit anticlimactic but it was wrapped up so nicely that I think it's not too bad. The abrupt ending did throw me off but ok, let's face it, the screenwriter probably wanted the viewers to imagine and think beyond what we were shown due to the nature of the drama itself. The acting between each characters were normal, however I especially liked Wang Zi Qi's and Mu Huai Hu's as they pulled their characters to life and made them more realistic. The couple's was very sweet. I liked how healthy it was. No, I did not feel the strong romantic chemistry between any of the couple unfortunately nor the actors/actresses themselves, and I don't know why. Could just be the dynamic of the drama however. The scenes and filming was nice. The OSTs weren't that bad for such a genre either. Overall, definitely something a person would watch if you like the detective genre mixed with a bit of romance. (Gonna phrase Su Xiao Tong for a sec. She's come a long way. I'm not sure if she's ever lead a drama but if so I haven't seen it. She was fab during Young Blood, and fine in The Rebirth of the Drama King. She nailed this character too however I think if she branched out into different characters, it would be a challenge I'll like to see forth time round).
Wasn't it just a like on some anti's post that didn't even stay up for a whole minute? It was probably an accident…
Ah. I have no idea if it was anti's. All I knew was that it circulated widely and blew up. If he said it was an accident, and apologized, I'm relieved.
Has anyone read the novel? I'm worried about how they're gonna end everything since I realised the author is the person who also wrote the novel Rattan was adapted from. How closely are they even following the novel?
This is old news but I haven't found an answer yet thus I'm wondering if anyone here does. Anyone remember the 'scandal' he was in regarding the comments/posts (I think) he supposedly made about Wang Yibo? Was it debunked? (It was a major period too. Literally blew everyone up sometime ago).
I think we've all found him somewhere similar and that is Ever Night. Like many others, he captivated me through the entire drama and left an impression. Of course, he had connections and what not unlike other 'manual' actors to get there however this does not deter me in wanting to see him succeed.
The scandal came along however and I was upset. It's not only about Yibo (and the success of The Untamed) but that of an actor's reputation and their personality. This has made me truly hesitate to ever watch anything he is in ever again.
I've seen it posted heatedly, however it sort of blew over I think. I'm not sure if it has been resolved but leaves me with a heavy heart.
Now I wanted to comment on a few things. This is one of those dramas where you sorta have to sit back and watch further more into the plot than just speculating very early on to really understand what's going on. :) But let's talk about the detailed graphics though? Damn I'm so amazed. Especially those bloody scenes. I often see these scenes just mildly done with per say a stab but no furious bleeding which isn't realistic. A bit irked as they censored all of those detailed graphics but I like it none the less.
I just read in the comment section here that there are scenes cut from the drama that are very basic and nothing…
I agree MangoTV needs a bunch more hired subbers. I myself have no clue either. I've found that MGTV has a thing for cutting scenes though. WoH is through Youku, thus I can't really comment on that. Perhaps you're sorta right? They really were too afraid? WoH is risking a lot, MGTV might've thought since it's both airing at the same time, KaH could get pulled by censorship along with WoH if anything happened.
Didn't FL come into this house to take care of the child? Where is the child at? O.O Kids can be so fun written…
Aha, I was wondering that too however I sort of let it go a bit considering she's also a child herself and that she married into the family halfly to find her mother's killer.
only on ep12 and I like this drama so much! something about Seven and Wallace's excellent acting and chemistry...In…
Shouldn't the character be 15? I was under the impression that someone stated she was 14 when she met him and obviously to marry him a year later to respect the morning period of his late wife which would've made her 15?
Not commenting my opinion yet since it's not even close to finishing airing and there's like a whole ton of them below me but when is the airing schedule? (Normal non VIP dates).
I've been watching Neo for a while and I was a bit urky seeing the hair but surprisingly it somehow slowly suited him from each episode. I like the plot, however hopefully it won't turn super emotional towards the ending.
So far seeing the 12 episodes, I especially like the team's dynamics. They're not what you would normally see in the detective/crime genre per say. Each and every one of them has their purpose, role and gives imput when needed. The first case wasn't that bad however. Quite generic of a company in disguise doing evil things but I like how we get to see each testifier's story and how they slowly come together to bring the guy down. The scenes shot seems alright. I'm excited to work forward with this one.
Idk bout y'all but it's actually a bit sad The Queen herself got what she wanted; which is to leave and die (at least with what we can see with the current airing episodes). Everything that happened ie. The king finally starting to notice his Queen and ya know other things were sort of directly too late. Lol, we'll see how the next upcoming episodes will play out.
Wow! I'm impressed. I'm almost speechless because I just finished watching everything right then. I'll say this, the drama gave off Tientsin Mystic vibes but more fantastic with the plot. The actors/actresses, each and every single one of them played out their role perfectly and their costumes, damn, I'm salivating especially Qin Yi Heng. Plot wise; they were intense. I think each cases were unique but I would've liked more twists. The ending, of course it's going to be like that. I'll keep it real vague but it opens up to a possible season 2 and/or franchise like The Lost Tomb series which I will be looking forward to. I think that some scenes were definitely predictable such as who the main culprit is but it is adapted from a novel which I have yet to read through. Overall, I'm sad to say goodbye because this was one of the dramas I've been pulled in and have left deep impressions in my heart, and it's been a while since the last time I watched something of this nature but I'll gladly say I'm happy with this one.
Definitely my favourite cdrama of the year...though I'm dreading the final 6 episodes, since it seems like Shi…
Same!! Yes, from the previews, it seems Shi Guang most likely lost his motivation to play because of Chu Ying. I'm still waiting if he actually had closure in the first place. But I think we all know Yu Liang will always be there for him and motivate him up till the end.
I'm enjoying this wayyy more than I expected, lol. I'm fawning over Hao Fu Shen. Can we talk about Yu Liang's wardrobe though?? Like, what is that sexiness? Oh and the Korean? Like damn, wth. On another note, I'm glad Shi Guang and the team improved so much and they're doing well. I'm anticipating for the 3 to get graded this year. Oh man, it's going to be one hell of a journey.
