Very promising so far! I've even watched half of the ep. 8 without subtitles... enjoying Leo Wu's acting. His scenes were so sweet in this episode!
Actually, some people complain about the slow path, but I'm loving that the characters take a step back and take their time to try out new things and turn their lives around. Some comments below quoted a sentence in one of the early episodes: "Quitting takes courage too"... A very good point!
I'll rewatch ep. 8 with subtitles though! I'm enjoying the dialogues a lot. Especially when the stepfather is around. Such an interesting character! I hope the writers have some good character development in store for him!

I don't get it! What's so special about Tan Song Yun that all the shows she is in never seem to disappoint me?
I have just started Road Home and, as thrilled as I was to watch TanSong Yun again, I did not want to raise my expectations too much as it's already my 4rth show with her within a year. Another slow burn love story, another hate to love journey...
But guess what? 2 episodes and I already love it...
She must have an eye for good stories... or she just brings the magic by herself...

Although most plot twists fail from being relevant at the end, they are still fun watching.
When you consider the show as not just a revenge story, but as a redemption for the main character ( Hyun Woo), everything falls into place.
Hyun Woo needs to go through all this to resolve his issues with his biological father, to understand what's at stake for empoverished people like his mother, to fulfill his partner's ideal of getting rid of the "corean discount" .,and to develop this strange and interesting relationship with his adopted grand-father.

Why would the ending invalidate EP 2 to 15? I understand the whole show as a redemption opportunity for Hyun Woo, he's the main character of the show. He bears the responsibility of having concealed Do Joon's murder, and given up on himself, which ultimately leads him to meet the same fate.
Ep. 2 to 15 stand as an opportunity for him to understand the magnitude of his "fault" by experiencing all the struggles of Do Joon. Living his life is part of the process.
Although I do get the frustration of some people considering that the show works also on the presumption that living Do Joon's life will provide either Do Joon or Hyun Woo with weapons or strategies to bring the brothers down. Yet, no "Machiavel" tactics really pay off for any of them.
The ultimate weapon is Hyun Woo's own journey and redemption.

Do watch it! You won't regret it. The story has many twists and is superbly written. A flawless development, no episode was shortcoming, let alone the controversial ending, which, in my opinion, totally makes sense. The whole show is about redemption, everything comes together at the end.

I finished watching it a couple of hours ago. I was thrilled with the last episode.! The writers pulled off a great ending, they managed to surprise viewers when you could have expected quite a predictable resolution. Superb writing!

I've just realised the actor was the main lead in Eroi Kareshi ga Watashi wo Madowasu. Give it a shot! despite some flaws, it's a hidden gem!

I've watched 3 episodes. So far it's really worth it. The storytelling is original and keeps you on board with the show.

So true! Caracters development is on point, and Yoo Ah In pulls out a tense acting of a young man, always on the edge. There's an incredible couple chemistry in this series. A must see!

Totally agree with you. I believe he doesn't even like her at all. He's taking revenge over a rich kid as he realised before anyone else that the ML was already completely smitten with NM.

Episodes 12 and 13 were really good, funny and interesting.
Not only is it a good romcom, but it tackles social issues in a clever way too, the plot is really well written. So far the best cdrama I've watched! I hope it will keep up the good work until the end.

What a nice surprise! I enjoyed Tan Song Yun in The sword and the brocade and I decided to give it a try. I'm already hooked after 5 episodes.
I think this actress' appeal is the fact that she's not cute, nor very spirited at first, yet her charm grows on you slowly. Maybe it lies in something mature and confident she radiates. How she portrays women just makes you inspired.
I understand the ML attitude is very frustrating but I find his character very interesting too. He seems to have a lot of trust issues, It may be the toll you have to pay when you managed to climb up the ladder of success. Be patient with him! The more strained their relationship gets, the more we can expect from the characters' development. I'm excited about how the relationship will unfold.

I feel you! I wish we had enjoyed more of hidden love at the office moments, they could have shared their passion for the weather too ....

Despite the negative comments I would like to speak up for this drama.
This show definitely has some flaws. However, most of the couples' story arches are really of a mature and realistic nature. This is very appealing if you enjoy stories beyond fluffiness. The relationships may not be as cute as some would like. Yet the show depicts very well the ups and downs in new relationships (2 main couples) as well as in longer ones (Um senior forecaster and Oh assisting forecaster).
As for the acting, it's very believable, especially in the technical parts about the weather, though it must have been a real challenge for the actors. Regarding the main couple, Park Min Young pulls off a very convincing career-driven character faced with the failures of her private life. And Song Kang's acting in a romantic comedy has been the best for me so far. He's carrying out the right amount of freshness mixed with the gravity of someone who had to deal with responsibilities at an early age. His love and admiration for the FL really shows, I actually find his character adorable.

I quite agree with you. Indeed, as both personalities are poles apart, it's bound to be difficult for the relationship to work out. Besides, let's not forget we've been dealing with a work romance all along. Although they had their sweet moments and the thrill of a hidden relationship, most of the time they are awkward with each other. They have to find the right pace and draw a line between work and their private life, a task that's not easy to pull off.

You are certainly right! Yet ratings have always been an element I take in consideration (among others!) for series.
It doesn't seem a good idea as long as movies are concerned.

I feel exactly the same!!. I'm especially impressed by Song Kang. First time I really enjoy his acting. The character he's delivering is soooo adorable...
I hope they keep it up!!

I've been dying to watch this movie for months and I'll have to wait until the end of the month to watch it in my local theater. I want to watch it on a big screen. Everybody says it should have won the latest Cannes festival and it's a very strong candidate for the oscars.
And yet, the rate is 7,8 on mdl!!!! I don't get it....

For those who are still pondering on whether to start this drama, just go for it.
I've watched until episode 5 and I can tell it's really interesting so far. The FL is a great character to whom a woman in her 40s can perfectly relate. Her feelings and her willingness to live a meaningful existence are all very realistic. I'm also impressed by the acting, really on point.
There are some very touching moments in her relationship with the young ML, you can see she's struggling between her attraction towards him and her instinct to protect him as she would do with her son. The ML is bold and wild, so his character might not be as complex, but you can foresee he has a lot of growth potential.
The main flaw for me would be the production. Camera moves sometimes make you feel seasick.
