This is the episode I've been waiting four weeks for. Seeing Naoya so happy waiting tables among a supportive staff he likes makes ME happy. I was beaming at the screen like an insane person. :)
The repressed anger/frustration of so many JP business people and office workers is beautifully expressed here. How tragic is it that his sadistic father worked him harder and harder to break him to his will, but since Naoya completed every impossible task given him, it only made his father more furious. What a fucking psycho.
So pleased that Naoya said take your job and shove it. If waiting tables makes him that happy, he should wait tables until retirement. :D
Takaaki and Naoya's talk on the couch at the end...crying again. :)
No, I understand perfectly well that this acting job by 15-21 year olds offends you. They must be laughing their…
I just finished the second episode.
As you can imagine, I'm disappointed but not surprised that this sanitized version took all the hilarious transgression out of the original's accidental hookup between Book and Frame. There were a couple of sparks, though, like when Frame was touching Book's tattoo and got hard. I love, "Damn, you made me hard!" or whatever it was. Teen boys are horny af 24/7 (I know, I was one)
So far, Book strikes me as a hot-blooded sex-freak who's great at keeping that part of himself under wraps. I don't know if that's what they're going for here, but it's the vibe I'm getting. SO funny when Frame was threatening Book with a kiss in the classroom: "My lips are soft. You can try them." hahaha
Episode 2: Fuse has great legs. Tee is badly miscast. No charisma. No personality. Not cute.
"My lips are soft. You can try them." lol The amount of time the director makes these poor actors stand still staring at each other like mute half-wits, sometimes within lines of their own dialogue, is annoying af. It's a strange tic of many Thai BLs.
Why are they watching the original MIR with the sound off? Fuse's painfully politically correct, accepting, open-minded parents are ridiculous.
I knew the show would throw cold water on the wildly transgressive, hilarious, original version of BookFrame's accidental hookup, but it's still disappointing to see it. I suppose we won't get to see them go to the doctor the next day to treat Book's sore butt, either. :( The new Frame is fun to watch, though not quite to the level of Ohm. The new Book is showing promise.
Oh man, this Tee is a disaster. The few cute, mischievous things he says or does are forced. Why are they holding hands in front of his parents? They've never held hands before. "You're friend is so handsome..." lololololololololololololol Sure, Jan.
The last ten minutes were like a bad Nickelodeon show.
After two eps: This Fuse is actually an improvement over the 2016 version. This Tee is...bad. I feel badly for the actor, who was miscast and placed in a role he is not equipped to play.
Forgot to mention how hilariously lame it was in episode 1 that Fuse and Tee were holding hands in the theatre RIGHT IN FRONT OF FUSE'S SISTER, but somehow she was unable to see what they were up to. Or...was that supposed to be a fantasy sequence? Either way...lame.
"Offroad" lol In the pantheon of hilariously silly Thai BL actor nicknames, this is up there with "Keyboard" or "Shortcircuit," or whatever the name is I can't quite recall. Help?
No, I understand perfectly well that this acting job by 15-21 year olds offends you. They must be laughing their…
I haven't seen it yet. Sounds like the original, though.
I enjoy the new Fuse. He looks so much like the original Fuse, Peak Peemapol, it's eerie. But his acting is great, too. On the other hand, the 2026 Tee is deeply disappointing. Only vaguely resembles the handsome Boom Krittapak from the original, and as an actor, he's flat and dull. He comes off as a shy, mildly cute nerd when the character is supposed to be a "handsome heartthrob." I was surprised to see that, regarding the actors, the age gap isn't flipped. I register Fuse as the more mature of the two.
Apparently she used an accent/dialect different from modern expectations for that historical period. Since I can't…
"Are we going to see Korean productions that are made to appeal to the international crowd and deliberately ignoring Korean sensibilities?"
I certainly hope so!
That said, it's a mistake to take trash articles like this latest slop from Lily Malice as having any relevance in reality. MDL and K-entertainment media in general love to hype up controversy, even when there's nothing to base it on.
Reactions to ALL actors' work is mixed. This article is absurd.
I swear the media training for Kdrama actors has to be insaaane. You have to learn to just internalize everything.…
This. But, while they should be trained to say those stupid lines, they should also be trained to NOT internalize any of it; to understand that this netizen nonsense and Lily Malice-style negativity mongering is in no way an accurate reflection on their work or their worth as an individual human.
You're right, it IS exhausting, which is why K-suicides are sky-high.
Oh, look! Another brain cell-free article from Lily Malice. How unsurprising.
Aren't reactions to any actor's work almost ALWAYS "mixed?" Why is this actress being singled out as if this is newsworthy?
Oh, I forgot, that's because, on the marketing principle that there is no such thing as "bad" publicity, this drivel is another excuse to remind us of the existence of the drama in which RYS does the acting that people are allegedly having "mixed" reactions to. Even those of us not so interested might think, "Gee, I wonder if her acting is really that bad? I'm bored, I'll take a look."
My latest theory is that Lily Malice is not a human, but an AI bot programmed to stir up stupidity, "scandals," and "controversies," even or especially those that help drive celebrities to suicide. Because MDL front page stories about the latest entertainer's self-administered death garner AWESOME click numbers, am I right, Lily Malice?
You are being unhealthy with your perverse insinuations.
Who said you need permission to comment? I asked why you're doing it.
I'm pretty sure there are no comments included within my profile page. Did the mere sight of my profile inspire rage in you? I'm glad.
People like you respond with rage to my comments and replies. This shows me I'm on the right track. If you see my words as "bait," um, maybe don't take it..? Your lack of self-control makes you a master-bait-er. You're welcome.
No, I understand perfectly well that this acting job by 15-21 year olds offends you. They must be laughing their…
Lame try. I'm not "soo" angry, I'm not even a tiiiiiiny bit angry. I often reply to commenters I disagree with, doesn't everyone?
OF COURSE you think the new version is better than the old one, it's been sanitized and homogenized. It's like American white bread, which has no flavor or texture, after a full-flavored whole grain variety.
Why would I block your profile? I enjoy engaging with sex-phobic prudes like you. It's my service to the community.
You can actually block a profile, you know. You should do that with my profile.
Episode 8: Cheaum's girlfriend April, is cool. Ray is being a dick. Khaotung's filler/implants/collagen face is tragic and distracting. He was a cute kid. Now he looks weird and it's all I can see when he's onscreen. Same with Cheaum and the overdone collagen fish lips...horrible. What are these people thinking? Is First's upper lip full of collagen too, or is that natural? I hope Neo, Force, and Mark stay away from cosmetic procedures...really sad and distracting. Ton OWNS his bad-boy slut personae! How is Top actually so sweet?
Love the pervy edge with genuine love at its core.
They made me cry. :)

It's so often the case that sexphobic prudes and moral scolds are guilt-addled pervs with secrets to hide, who are overcompensating and projecting.
Seek help.
I guess that makes your comments nothing but "bitch-bait," am I right? :)
I certainly hope so!

A generous 7.510 from me.
