Lectures? Wow...that's not good. No way can your brain be absorbing what you're seeing/hearing as it would at live speed. This is another good argument for compulsory, physical attendance in class. Everything is always in flux. Perhaps down the road the pendulum will swing back in that direction. I have an apartment neighbor who is a college freshman; he attends ALL his classes remotely even though he's two miles from campus and is as healthy as can be. It seems sad to me...I used to enjoy walks to and around campus, just for the air, the surroundings, and other people. He's missing all of that.

Remote attendance is a great option, depending on the circumstances. Being allowed to attend remotely even when you've moved to town and are near campus seems...absurd. Maybe a viable alternative would be allowing a limited number of remote attendances per semester.

I have wondered off and on throughout this drama, how often what I'm seeing and hearing onscreen is commentary/critique of the ubiquity of and addiction to, social media and 24/7 stimulation. Seeing F4M watching that drama at 2x, as well as when Bua consulted a chatbot for comfort and reassurance, when what he needed was a human being, his two neglectful mothers being absent, were two of the moments I considered the director might be critiquing/interrogating/commenting on it rather than merely showing it.

Wow...I'm glad I'll be dead by the time everyone's watching at 4x and AI has enslaved humanity.

On edit: Relatedly, I read an article just a couple days ago about how hand-writing notes in class engages the brain more deeply than does typing on a keyboard. In turn, that engagement makes for enhanced memory and recall. This applies to journaling as well. Studies show that hand-journaling stimulates the brain more effectively than journaling into a computer. Interesting.

Wow. I am impressed at your ability to look at that objectively and your willingness to admit to your conclusion. That's a healthy load of self-awareness there, X (maybe you should change that letter of your screenname to "Z."). :) :D All best to you.

Thank you for this!
My head hurts, and I thought I fully understood for a moment (I've seen the film twice now) but then I lost that speck of light and now I'm not sure again. :D
I suppose a third watch and a third reading of your analysis is in order somewhere down the line.

Does the Internet enable more good than harm? I have no idea, but it's easy to believe the latter is true, especially with Douchebag Trump now installed in power here in the U.S. No doubt LOADS of deception was employed to put him where he is.

This show's raw portrayal of Bangkok backdrop makes me love the city so much more.. no other series captured the…
Serious question: I have enjoyed the cinematography in Gelboys immensely, and one aspect of that is how Bangkok has been shot, including saturated colors, especially at night. But I have seen lots of cities shot that way in movies, all more or less just as lovely. The daytime shots appear like most any huge modern city to me. What do you find beautiful about Bangkok that you have not seen captured as well elsewhere as here?

it’s so gen z coded I feel heard. like how chian switched to 2x watching cdrama or only having on close friend…
People watching shows/movies/whatever at 2x or whatever freaked me out when I learned of that a while back. I'm older than dirt, so could you help me out here? If you're not into a show enough to watch it at its own pace, then you're not really into it at all, so why not just, you know...drop it?

I don't mean this as a dis, but is it that Gen Zs can't abide a moment or two without something, anything, even if it's a freaking drama they don't give a shit about, distracting them from what I always thought of as...quiet time alone with one's thoughts, to think, to consider, ponder, or simply to blank out without any input whatsoever?

Do you think it's an addiction to constant stimulation that drives that sort of thing? I'm tossing about for reasons, and that's one of the first that comes to mind. To me, it's creepy af.

And thank you, MDL, for using the word "SCANDAL" for the six millionth time to get eyes on your trash article, spreading unproven allegations and accusations as if they are true.

Seriously, how many celebrities are you going to help put in the ground via suicide before you grow a conscience and stop promoting garbage like this? What? "We will never stop helping put celebrities in the ground," you say?

I'm not surprised.

I think baabin does like bua it’s just that he’s been liking foumod for so long so he doesn’t realise it…
That's a stretch...Baabin is admirably self-aware and controlled. The entire time he and Bua were experimenting it was obvious that Baabin was going with the flow to see how things went. And when they kissed...meh...he just wasn't really feeling it.

He, perhaps more than Chian, would benefit from a month in a psych facility followed by ongoing counseling and…
Whoa. Bua the actor does not read as 15 or even 17 to me. 20 at the least, which I understand to be the actor's age.

It's fascinating to me how blase' several commenters are about a person pissing themselves in their clothing on an upholstered chair while on a call with other people. This is an extremely concerning incident, especially in light of how lacking in parental oversight and interest Bua is. Pretending it's no big deal is an avoidance tactic. Avoidance borne of the shame and stigma surrounding mental health.

Consider how easy it would have been for a healthy person to simply say "I need to go to the restroom" and sign off of the call, whether they really had to go or not, just as a way to leave an awkward situation. Instead, he either lost bladder control or CHOSE to pee his pants.

I stand corrected. Healthy 17-year-olds don't piss in chairs over a love rejection either.

"I don't know why but I feel some transphobia in your comments."
lol This statement is comically predictable.

hmmm...so Thailand isn't as trans-friendly as I had assumed.
I mis-wrote regarding the flag sticker. I meant to write "pan sticker.

EXACTLY. That they felt obligated to stick around when Chian the Psycho hijacked their class meeting is to me, another sign of how SM and SM addiction has changed social interaction. Would "None of your business...see ya!" really have been so hard to say?

Especially in the case of F4M however, that he DID stick around to hear all of that indicates to me he is still desperate for attention from Chian, regardless of all he knows about him already. Fatal attraction.

If you are gay with a hint of straight, you are bi.

Ah...but how do you know the character Faifa is trans just because the actress is trans? And what she is or is not packing is not my business, but it doesn't stop the issue from occurring to me, just as it does to most normally curious-minded people. There is a big difference between wondering about something and asking a person about it as though they owe me an explanation.

Assuming the character Fai IS trans, first of all it's kind of sad the actress is being limited to trans roles. Second of all, I feel I'm being preached at by the story line. "Ah, look at F4M, he's so with it he's down to date a girl, a dude, and a trans girl. And oh, he has a trans sticker!" That means he will meet and date a trans dude in episode 7.

Hey, maybe Baabin will turn out to be a trans guy. Or perhaps a straight girl cross-dresser. Thoughts?

Why wouldn't a trans girl in an all-boys high school be asked to trans-fer?

Someone who loses control of bodily functions because a crush, with whom he is just getting started, rejects him doesn't seem "that mentally unwell" to you? Really? Got it. I'm considering that bit combined with all of the behaviors I've seen from him, as well as his tendency to stuff feelings and keep them hidden.

I didn't say he was "crazy." That word and its pejorative edge is part of the reason mental health has such a stigma around it. The pissing incident is a big red flag and needs some looking at. Unfortunately his mothers or whatever are nowhere to be seen to know he needs looking after. Perhaps the pee-stinky, discarded chair in their alley dumpster will be a hint.

That's fine. I totally disagree as to how alarming pissing yourself in that situation is though. He is not a "kid," he's around 20 years old.
