some people just have less facial expressions (people with depression for example) ๐คทโโ๏ธ fits to the character…
He's not trying to play "'depressed," he's just a bad actor. I saw him in another BL and same problem; no range of expression. Plus, his mouth hangs open half the time.
"You can always be on the receiving end..." BWAHAHAHAHAHA...
7.9/10? Seriously? lol The MDL Little Gurls have been busy up-rating again, I see.
Putting on hold midway through episode 3.
This thing is far too fluffy/stupid/lame/badly-acted/predictable/trope-ish/chiche for me to bear right now. Plus, it's depressing to see another of this type of mess come out of Korea, one of my last three hopes for decent BLs. I recently finished two awful Taiwanese shows, so this is extra alarming.
I laughed when the most psycho of the Psycho Twins said "Oh, did I not tell you, I own the company you work for now?" SO very original and totally NOT something we have seen a hundred times before. :P Another problem is that dude's pointy face/chin and cupid's bow mouth which curls upward in a disturbing, Joker-like grin that gives me the heebie-jeebies. ick.
Another horrifying thing is to see men tucking their sweaters into their pants again. That was enough of a nightmare the first time around in the 1990s. Yes, I'm a fossil.
The only remotely appealing character is the nice one, but he is TOO nice, to the point he comes off desperate and stalkerish. Nobody likes someone who acts slavish and obsessed; it grows tiresome quickly.
There's nothing original about the helpless, little girl bottom character, nor how he's being played. Just tell Joker-mouth to f**k off and quit. Bat those bottom-boy eyelashes at some other PR director and you'll have another job in no time, psycho-free. This guy is so weak and spineless, what's to root for?
So, yeah...setting this aside in case I am desperate for BL vibes later. I'll check back later and if it appears from comments that the two psychos have gone SO psycho that it's worth tuning in, I'll be back. :)
I read through comments below AFTER watching this. I get where people going wtf? are coming from for sure. Unlike…
What I see over and over again is grown-ass, educated adults who have sex without protection and are then mystified when someone turns up pregnant. The initial seduction scene was odd...the maid certainly didn't need much convincing which later made it hard to see her as a victim. Why would the old lady help her do that wild-ass shit at the end? By that time, she was quite fond of her. Nevertheless, she grants her access to the house so she can hang and set herself on fire. Lame. If her revenge was to scar the little girl with the memory of the hanging/burning then this REALLY makes no sense. She adored that child from the beginning, and the kid was extremely kind and taken with her. Why get back at the parents through her? Why wouldn't the old lady ask for a shit ton of money before leaving? She has truckloads of dirt on these filthy rich people to whom image is everything. Her silence is valuable to them. At the very end, why were they having the little girl's birthday party outside in the freezing cold with snow all around and no coats on? It was so absurd I assumed it was a dream at first.
Typing all this out has made realize how utterly absurd this movie is. lol
I read through comments below AFTER watching this. I get where people going wtf? are coming from for sure. Unlike others, I enjoyed a lot of it however.
But yeah, the ending makes little sense. I think I know the intention, but the intention makes no sense either. There was another major plot point early on that happens over and again in flicks like this and I got to roll my eyes for the hundredth time over it.
The husband naked was nice, but there wasn't enough of that to make up for all the weak spots.
Things that annoyed and mystified me under the spoiler below, if you're interested.
Meh...if you feel like a thriller and don't care a lot about things like plausibility, you may well enjoy this. I sorta did but the ending was the final straw.
omg...lolWhy osteosarcoma and not...tuberculosis or advanced syphilis?
I got some heat between Coffee Guy and Hotel Guy, but the director is lame. It seems to me that all four actors have potential, but the director was out to lunch the whole time. I did get all misty a couple times in the finale. This is terrible, but I feel bad for Teacher Man in that he is relatively handsome but that is one of the ugliest ugly-cry faces I've seen. I hope he doesn't read comments here.
Any shows to suggest? I'm down to one, Secret Relationships, in which the story has great potential but the bad acting and loads of tropes already threaten to tank the whole thing. Guess we shall see...
Are people complaining? I haven't read comments further down, and I didn't really care in the show because Lu…
No, it makes no sense at all. The student here is 18 years old, an adult, not a minor. Pay attention. Even if he wasn't, as the above commenter said this happens in reality all the time and is fair game for drama.
Why on Earth is simply presenting a given situation seen as "promoting" it by people like you? You seem to believe both characters should have died horribly to teach the audience a moral lesson. Wrong. People don't watch live-action dramas to be "taught" things. If you want that, go to church.
im surprised at the number of people who think that luhui's chatacter is a teenager, both actors have stated that…
Well, he ACTS like a 13-year-old even though his character is 18, which is an adult even though he's amazingly immature. I don't get writing an age gap story but not using the age gap to provide angst or drama. It was just kind of...there for no reason.
The Student showed some acting talent at times, but I think the director here was super-weak so he didn't receive the guidance he needed. The character's youth was WAY overplayed. It would have been more interesting if the 18-year-old was more mature than the Teacher and came onto him aggressively, despite their small age gap and their status as Student/Teacher. I've known lots of very mature 18-year-olds and lots of very immature 23-year-olds. I was one of the latter.
The rating on this show is absurdly high. The fangurls are doing their up-rating thing again.
They finally kind of got to me in the last episode. I welled up at least three times, and the acting improved immensely, especially from the student. Then, they proceeded to wrap things up with wildly implausible/improbable/impossible occurrences like below-average artists becoming famous and having gallery shows with cheesy amateur paintings. lol
There's a nice idea at the core of this story but it was written, directed, and acted at a sub-par level. The potential for great drama regarding the teacher/student relationship was not utilized at all. I have no problem with the slight age gap, but if they had been exposed and had to face a crisis like that together, it could have been gripping. I mean, why write an power gap into the story if you don't then make something of it?
The Student was written as such an immature brat that the Teacher's feelings for him were not believable. I could believe Teacher finding Student hot and banging him, but to enter a long-term thing with such a child?...No.
He could have, and should have, concluded he should go on to the NY gig for at least a year, during which the Student could do some maturing, and if they were still in love and hot for each other, he could always come back.
This is the type of BL I would never share with my non-BL friends, even though I found enough in it to keep me watching all the way through. They would think I was crazy. Well, I am, but no need for them to know... :D
Best actor - Coffee Guy Worst actor - Student Boy Hottest - Guest House Guy Blandest - Teacher Man
Wait for the acid to wear off and un-click your all-caps key, please. You will regret this comment later.
But you're not "making commands" right now, are you. lol It's so funny, but when people type in all-caps it really does read as if they're yelling. :D Can you not turn OFF your all-caps by hitting the key?
"You will regret this comment later" was meant as a joke. To me, this show is pretty bad and to see someone who thinks it's so fabulous that they're yelling about it was a shock. :D
Dropped.
