According to the data online the real serial killer's last victim (killing) was on 1991 which was the 14th victim. And he did not kill after that until 1994 when he killed his sister in law.

I understand they wanted to be as closed to the real case as possible but then again the elements that did not make sense in the drama where the ones that were added. Tae Joo's sister was a really difficult character to watch, I never understood why she didn't like Tae Joo. It seem like she just was against him without a reason when we clearly saw him he cared for her as a child even when their mother disregarded them. At the end she chose to live a comfortable life with her father and cut ties with her brother just for her own sake. Some other things that were misses for me: the car accident of Tae Joo's sister, out of nowhere no real explanation. The change on the name of the serial killer (I understand they did it for the suspense factor but they never explained why they ended up calling a different way). Why did the serial killer stopped killing (for about 4 years there we no killings until he was detainedfor killing his siter in law)? The real story says it was because he got married and such but in this story he was already married so no explanation at all on what happened in that period of time with him. Honestly this drama got me fed up with all the incompetence in the investigation, all the corruption and all the injustices so I hope in the future we get a loosely adaptation of this true story where justice is served.
I started this drama with high expectations of a great thriller drama ad many gave great reviews for it but the more I watched the more I saw this wasn't a thriller drama at all. Yes, there was mystery on it but the main topic for this drama is how the police's and the prosecutor's offices worked at that time. This drama is more like a social depiction on a certain time frame of Korea, it' really not that focused on the serial killer. If you have seen memories of a murder you can have a very good idea what this drama is about.
I honestly don't get the hype about this drama, story wise it was pretty plain. For a procedural drama the stories…
For someone who have watched so many dramas for so many years it was clear since the beginning how the story about the dad was going to turn out, but still the development was pretty weak. Also there were several things left unexplained about the watching ghosts dynamic. Was it really only the incense the one making him watch them? If that's the case why didn't someone else tried the incense, if not what was the real trigger? What happened with the priest at the end, he was present for all the goodbyes but not for the most important one? What was the deal with the lost shaman, he basically was not needed at all only for revealing the burning the talisman part but it looks like every shaman knew about that since the priest knew it for his former life as a shaman. So why did they made that big of a deal with finding him ad the beginning of the drama??
I honestly don't get the hype about this drama, story wise it was pretty plain. For a procedural drama the stories were quite simple and the final one which was the main one was quite predictable since the beginning.
OMG! This one was sooo bad, the characters just appeared out of nowhere. The FL had barely anything to do, her character had all the potential to be interesting but instead was soooo boring. Honestly almost everything was so predictable that there was no surprise factor. Pleade never think of doing a season 2, it is not needed at all.
Not sure what the writers were thinking when they chose the last case episodes. Those 2 episodes were the least interesting of the whole season and honestly they felt quite weird. Rest of the season was good with great guest actors.
yeah. it's like, doesn't matter how much you try to make world fare, "bad" people will always be there
I'm so sad that they turned Chief Justice to the dark side at that last minute reunion at the ex-president house. He was one of the few honest judges there and they had to do this :(
I've seen several quirky characters along the way but Ena's character was unbearable! How could the writer make…
They couldn't be bothered to explain how the killings took place because there was no reasonable explanation as to how a woman could kill all those man, specially Ena's uncle who was a former police officer. Also even though they kind of explained why the killings started again after 10 years I didn't quite understand that reason it didn't make sense to me. As many comments here the writing was lacking, the puzzle was kind of meaningless, the policr didn't discover anything important. At the end of the day they discovered the killer due to hunches and kind of luck. Also the fact that Ena told the psychiatrist all about the cases when it's totally forbidden for a police officer to share details of an investigation and what about the psychiatrist becoming friends with her, that was also so unprofessional on her side.
I've seen several quirky characters along the way but Ena's character was unbearable! How could the writer make the FL this annoying is beyond my understanding. I think they wanted to make the FL and ML's relation something along the lines of "Stranger" but they failed miserably. For me this is an okay drama but the story had lots of plot holes that didn't quite work for me.
I think the main leads gave a good performance but the chemistry between them was lacking. I didn't feel the romance…
Another thing that really bothered me was that she got out of her house to become independent and try living by herself for the first time in her life but at the first opportunity she asks Kaouru to live with her, so what was really the point then?
I think the main leads gave a good performance but the chemistry between them was lacking. I didn't feel the romance at all. Also the story was ok but at the end it kind of fell apart, the final episode didn't make that much of a sense to me.
Last 2 episodes made me cry so much, overall this is a nice drama ann quite entertaining though I think there were several things that not made that much of a sense considering certain facts. Still watch this it's worth your time.
If you're looking for romance look elsewhere because this drama is definitely not a rom-com. It had so much potential but it fell flat and it it was a drama with not so much of a plot. Though if you're looking for a drama ton inspire you to start working out this one is the right choice.
I really enjoyed watching this drama, it was the perfect length and Shi Yoon is such a great actor. His performance was spot on and I was quite moved by some of his dialogues. I see this was mixed reviews and as one of the comment says it may be due to time in your life you're watching this. This drama might be appealing for and older range of people. But still I will recommend watching it.
Hmm.. I can understand not getting the story better because not everything from the manga is adapted. But from…
I couldn't understand how they decided to continued using a technology that at the end was developed by a psychopath adding up how Maki was so worried about the moral issues and at the end seem it made him feel so bad about it. I mean Kainuma even hypnotized the people working there, but they never doubted there could be a trick to what he developed. Also I don't think we ever get to know when Kainuma's diagnose was made, was it since the beginning when he first met Maki? I believe he created the technology because of Maki told him when they first met, so did he started murdering people right from the start in order to develop the technology or was it after it was developed in order to improve it? (to add the sound and improve the tome range they could see, etc) How did he lured his victims? Did he lured then to his house or did he kidnapped them somewhere else and then moved them to his house? What was his MO (aside from choosing his victims from people that looked like Maki)? Where did he kept the remains? Where they even found? For me all this questions were important and I didn't find and answer to them. I'm not gonna go into the relationship part because then this comment will become longer and so on.
