We never got to hear Park Jong Gil's reasons to become one. And honestly I didn't really got the point of Jong Gil and Ryuon's "closure" because they talk about 5 minutes and that was it. Why did Jong Gil asked the president to block his past life? I thought that we will get and explanation when they explained why he became a Reaper but we didn't. Why will Ryun who was in hell get the chance to become a Reaper? If all people that chose suicide go to hell, then how long do they have to wait until they can reincarnate? At the end the idea of making heaven work like a company was not that suiting and it left more questions than answers.
Most of the cases were really interesting and some made me cry and I have to say that the cases was why this drama was worth the watch. It's a shame that the base of the story which was the Grim Reapers and the system wasn't really explained. There were several things left in the air like why would one decide to become a reaper instead of choosing reinacarnation and what were the requirements to become one.
The romance part was good, but regarding the issues with the SFL and the other issue of trying to make the CEO step down and who the ML's bestfriend doing what he did was pretty cliché. Though they added a plot twist at the end, those parts were kind of boring so the last 4-5 episodes were not that interesting to watch,
I don't know but I don't see Kase romatically in love with Rio based on what I saw. I really hope we did get more…
I think Kase ended up agreeing with him on hiding the crime because at the end he saw them as part of the Sanada family and his job was ultimately to protect the Sanada's.
Thank your for this review, I'm on episode y but I'm already tired of watching how thet are layong things down for the main leads to get back together when in my opinion they shouldn't. So after reading your review I have made up my mind and I will drop this!
I didn't start liking the female lead till episode 9. I guess she's the character type that grows on you. I think…
That may be true since I'm on ep 6 and still don't like her but I'm not sure I want to continue watching a drama where you have to wait until ep 9 to like the FL.
I have so many comments on this drama, but definitely this was not my cup of tea.
I was actually not disappointed in Hee Doo and Yi Jin not ending together because I didn't really feel there was romantic chemistry between them. I actually think this drama would have been better if they left the romance part out. I also know there's a lot of people complaining because they didn't end up together at the end but since the first episodes evidence that the daughter was not Yi Jin's was given so they let us know they were not going to end together which frankly gave me the strength to continue watching since they were not going to end together. I think the last episodes where also not handled well as they felt rushed and we didn't really get to much of an explanation how Hee Doo reached the current time line and this also takes me to another issue which was to have the present timeline and the past one, I really believe they didn't need the present timeline. It was enough with the past timeline as the present one didn't really added anything to it as the only "interesting" thing was Heed Do's daughter conflict in wanting to quit dancing but it wasn't really that important nor really talked about it that much. By adding the current timeline they created the need to explain better how the past timeline moved in order to reach the present one, but the drama lacked all those explanations. Lastly but not least, I felt cheated by the previous synopsis that was on MDL for this drama as it said "They first meet when they are 22 and 18 years old, fall in love when they meet again at age 25 and 21" so this made me think we were going to have some kind of time jump where but no it was the whole story from Hee Do's 18 to 21 and Yi Jin's 22 to 25 which also made the romance harder for me to accept since he fell in love with a minor. So there I was watching each episode hoping for that time jump that never happened and that also let me down a little.
I loved this drama so much!!! I'm really hoping they make a second season of this. The story, the acting, the pace everything was great and done right. I think Yokoyama was perfect for this role, I loved his interaction with Kotaro. I highly recommend watching this if you're looking for a lighthearted drama.
So, I've seen this argument before and I agree that it's evidence that he's not the father which turns out to…
Actually I called them hints but for me the lastname at least was definitive evidence he was not the father. If they really wanted to string us along they would have never mentioned the girl's last name. (I did saw 500 days with summer). I'm also not saying I agree with the ending, the break up was not handled right, it felt rushed and something was off. They made the wrong call to add the current timeline because that didn't really added nothing good to the story infact it worked against the story overall. Because with having the current timeline they created a need to introduce and at least give a brief explanation on the FL's husband and why she married him which they didn't. The final scene for me doesn't mean the ML never got over the FL it just explains and corraborates the she was his fist love. Because the fact that his secret security question which he chose 15 years ago for an account which he hasn't used in years was "who is your fist love" doesn't mean he's still in love with her, it's not like his current email pasword is her name or birthday or something like that.
Agree in everythinf you write except the part of "being invested in the question of who the girl's father was" because if I remember correctly on the first episodes she calls his daughter Kim Min Chae so the last name was one hint the ML was not the father and also in other episode the FL's mom tells her she saw the ML so that was also another hint he was not the father. Aside from the I agree with you this went downhill and got weird on the last episodes.
1. I really hate the "let's separate for a year and reunite" trope. 2. The whole platonic life partner thing with…
Totally agree with you on both. Specially the 2nd one, I still don't understand what kind of relationship was the one Shishio proposed to Izumi?! There was really no nees for that "declaration / proposal" as you said they coulf have stayed best friends relaying on each other like any other normal friendship without the need to stablish a couple kind of relationship but at the same time platonic. Because for me it was like Izumi compromised with the idea of being ok with her one-sided love as long as she sould stay beside Shishio, but that totally led her straight to a road where she would never be in a love relationship and will live with her one-sided love forever.
This went downhill and then crashed and burn. I have several complains here but the most important one is: what's…
I'm so disappointed with the so call suspense plotline here because it started so good and it actually had lots of potential not to mention we had great characters at the police station. But after the twin came into the picture the suspense plot line was totally lost and that was mainly because our OTP couldn't car a damn about it neither of them were following that plot and it was just at the back part of the story. I felt like it was being developed without us being informed. And at the end it was almost as everything had to be solved and told by the twin at the last minute. There were no "aha" moments. I think they wasted such an interesting plot and such interesting characters as the twins. What a shame this was and instead of that we had lots of uninteresting moments with the OTP and other side characters which honestly I couldn't care less about. Like the rich woman that hired the twin brother, what was that all about?? She appeared and disappeared without further explanations. So many unexplained characters were there just for the sake of moving the plot but they were just thrown out there. Also who was the guy who was sending the FL's mom stuff? We never got the chance to see him and at the end I got the impression he just disappeared in the air. So much things I can rant about but I'll leave it here.
This went downhill and then crashed and burn. I have several complains here but the most important one is: what's wrong with the OTP?? I mean they were so childish when they interacted with each other and I think they were in their mid-thirties and on top of that they were sooo cheesy as a couple. Never in all my drama watching history had I watched a couples this corny at the level of wanting to close my eyes.
This drama reminds me of Suspicious Partner regarding the part that this drama wasn't sure what kind of genre it wanted to be. But at least Suspicious Partner didn't leave the suspense part in the back seat the problem there was it didn't feel integrated with the romance plot line but here it didn't feel integrated and it was almost completely ignored mid-way on.

Actually that last episode was the only one that made sense to me, it was the only one where the defendant actually benefited from his defense attorney.
Don't really get the idea of this, if this was focused on the prosecution side it would have made more sense to…
Kame's character would have made more sense if he was a prosecutor because I didn't really saw him helping his clients with reduced sentences and such he was more about finding the truth which in most cases was not favorable to his client so if he was a prosecutor his actions would have had more sense to me.
